@grifitti This Came first. It was done for the movie The Magnificent Seven in 1960. The R&B song was done in 1967. The original was nomiated for an Oscar & used in other films & comercials.
The reason the video is so short is The Magnificent Seven theme is part of a medley of movie scores that John conducts at his concerts with The Boston Pops.
I clicked to start it and scooted back in my chair to get settled in....and it was over! They should have not allowed this to even be played. Someone as great as John Williams deserves much more respect than that.
I love that kind of music. What's it called? I know it's from the movie, but what do you call that type of music? I remember many years ago, my Grandmother had a LP with this kind of music on it. I believe it was all instrumental stuff with a western movie sound. Loved it. Wish I could find a CD. Like the theme from High Chaparel, Galveston, and Bonanza. Thanks for any reply.

John Williams is a great theme-smith, but as a composer, he's not as good as Tchaikovsky :o)

@pointreyes6 He isn´t even near tchaikovskys league. most of his partitudes are interpretation of wagner.
