  • John Williams is a great theme-smith, but as a composer, he's not as good as Tchaikovsky :o)

  • @pointreyes6 He isn´t even near tchaikovskys league. most of his partitudes are interpretation of wagner.

  • I was just buckling my six-gun to my belt, about to grab my Stetson and saddle up ...and it stopped. WTF???!!!

  • lol...is it my imagination or what? but doesn't the old R&B song "Do You Like Good Music" begin with this ? If so, which came first ..?

  • @grifitti This Came first. It was done for the movie The Magnificent Seven in 1960. The R&B song was done in 1967. The original was nomiated for an Oscar & used in other films & comercials.

  • I C ...arthur conley lifted it ....eh ...lol

  • I wish you had recorded the Star Trek theme he did in that concert.

  • This is Elmer Bernstein's Magnificent Seven... its nice to see JW conducts this great unforgetable theme.

  • omg john williams and mag 7 together!!!!!

  • That's such a great film.

  • The reason the video is so short is The Magnificent Seven theme is part of a medley of movie scores that John conducts at his concerts with The Boston Pops.

  • A tad slow, but sounds so nice, and why is the vid so short :(

  • I clicked to start it and scooted back in my chair to get settled in....and it was over! They should have not allowed this to even be played. Someone as great as John Williams deserves much more respect than that.

  • Why only 14 seconds? Could you post the whole thing?

  • It's part of a medley of movie scores.

  • How could anyway rate this song a 2?

  • I think they are rating the vido not the song... what was the poin of putting this little sound bite on?

  • Why so short?

To the person above - are you serious?! You don't know John Williams? OR the score to The Magnificent Seven?!

  • I love that kind of music. What's it called? I know it's from the movie, but what do you call that type of music? I remember many years ago, my Grandmother had a LP with this kind of music on it. I believe it was all instrumental stuff with a western movie sound. Loved it. Wish I could find a CD. Like the theme from High Chaparel, Galveston, and Bonanza. Thanks for any reply.

  • Hey SPCLPONY, that would be called soundtrack music.

  • its called movie scores, or soundtracks , sometimes also referred as mainthemes from movies,.

so if you search for western movie themes Cd`s you will probably find what you are looking for

  • The cd is called "round up". Its great for testing out the fidelity of your audio system.
