  • Who did your fretboard?

  • awesome inlay

  • what does scalloping do?

  • @onixtheone it makes it easier to do vibrato and bends because you get a better grip of the strings but makes it more dificult to play faster :)

  • Terrible.

  • Cool, easy, and played slow enough for losers like me to pick up. Thanks! Ignore all troll comments.

  • wow pisi,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • wow nice,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • that is 1 cheesey looking guitar.

  • Holy scallop Batman!

  • Español o italiano? xD (yo soy español y lo he notado xD)

  • :57 -end, nice work. i've heard yngwie use that one.

  • italiano?

  • wraios :P

  • nice work...

  • I think this sheds some light on that particular style,,I have a friend of mine that uses that style and i've always loved it,,thats for the insight.

  • thanks for the lesson but that is WAY out of tune sounding! Peace and love peace and love

  • Thanx for comment. I think you re right about this issue. I have an intonation problem as one of the saddles (lower E string) of my bridge was really worn and I replaced it with a fender saddle which can't seat properly on the original bridge. Due to this ,tuning this old guitar perfectly (open string and harmonic on the 12th resonance)becomes a riddle sometimes till I find a suitable bridge without modifying it as it is an oldie.

  • holy mother of god that fretboard is so scalloped! why so deep? I think is useless.

  • You are right about how deep it is but it is not that much as it seems due to that angle of view. It is deeper than a normal scullop on purpose because if you divide the area between two frets the half of it has a unique pattern (non symmetrical) sth like James Byrd guitars. My fingers are sweating badly also, and they become soft on their tip so in huge bends I want it to fully support the string involved. Sculloping wasn't a random procedure but a detailed one to suit my needs.

  • u are greek? are u familiar with sound cells?

  • Yes I am ,but what exactly do you mean by the above term (sound cells) because it has a wide variety of meanings

  • Nice fretboard

  • chorus and a little bit of delay. I couldnt understand what he was saying much haha:P

  • don't forget I am Greek bro so I am not a native nor a fluent speaker haha.Sorry for any incovenience.

  • hehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... He said "a stiff one" hahahahahahahaha!

  • Whats wrong with the word stiff?? It means something hard, sth that cannot be bend easily, right??

A hard (if you prefer) pick gives better attack and less energy spent on the string ,a usual phenomenon with soft picks which need more time in order to move them from string to string. For example a Dunlop stubby 2.0 mm is ideal for such picking.

  • Do you not get the joke? LOL.

  • Oh now I can get it ha ha . A usable word for several situations as we say as stiff as a ......... or the coffin found sth so stiff underneath that it didn't let it close LOL

  • can someone tab this please....?

  • these are just some simple pedal tone licks - no need to tab anything theyre simple :P

  • dude those scallops are f-ing deep!!

  • Scalloped frets lawl.

  • gawsh please work on your vibrato!!

  • nice licks man! very YJM. i just scalloped my strat and its great!! keep rockin'

  • thats probably the weirdest sounding guitar on the planet.. and those frets dont look cool they just look like they areincredibly annoying to slide and bend. and they probably also result in a much higher action

  • i just scalloped the finger board on my guitar and it's the best thing i've ever done to a guitar. it feels great and makes playing easier, on the contrary bending is much easier and sliding only takes a minor adjustment of technique. if your going to try it i wouldn't recommend starting off with the string gauge YJM uses as its ridiculously light. don't knock it til you try it.

  • what about the high action how can u fix that

  • adjust the bridge saddles so its lower. do what you need man there are no rules :)

  • Whoa! how did you do this ? frets on or of?? I am in the middle of doing a maple reverse Tele

    Warmoth 10"- 16", 22 fret.,right now.

Did you hand sand to rough out or use any machine tools?

Larry Lashbrook is also doing another Strat also ,.will be just like Ingwies,.,

    THX

  • i just used rough sandpaper with a curved block and then very fine paper and finished it with standard can of spray on finish. i almost killed one of the inlays. it fell out cause i sanded too deep; so watch out! :)

  • is that what they call scalloped frets?

  • Yup.

  • no ni no ni macaroni

if u shit your pants twice then u dont eat rice

  • very nice job Greko!

  • man those are extremely scalloped

  • nice man, nice sound!

  • Great playing man!!! Sounds so diminished haha!!! Kick ass inlay on scalloped fingerboard!

  • Thanx for comment man, the inlay was done by me while drunk a dozen years ago lol.

  • Did you scallop the neck also??

I am having Larry Lashbrook [ great guitars in his own right] do one for me. He did all the work for Yngwie, when he lived at Key Biscane, Miami.

  • Yes and it really took me a lot of hours back then, it is deeper than an YJM strat and also assymetrical, almost as in James Byrd guitars (Aviation). But I presume Larry is going to have a really pro touch on your neck, if he worked on Yngwie's guitars he must be one of a kind.

  • nice accent ;)

  • I would be glad if you understand because I am fluent as hell ,lol. thanx for comment bro.

  • what effects are you using in this video?

  • If I remember well the gear was an Aria combo solid state 20WAmp(clean channel), Boss pedal effects in series, NS-2 Noise suppresor, CS-3 Compression sustainer,MZ-2 Metallizer, GE-7 Equalizer, Chorus CE-3, Pitch Shifter Delay PS-2 .

  • how much bettter are scalloped

  • Choose More From on your right and then go to Neoclassical Improvisation (sculloped flirting) video. In the Info section you'll find a description about sculloped necks and their peculiarities.

  • It's a strange feeling. The first thing I noticed (especially with high action, like I like it) if you dont hit the string dead on your finger will go flying into the scallop. It requires a fair amount more accuracy. But, you have more control over the strings imo. The extra control makes vibratos more controllable. It isnt easier, it's pretty rough on your hands at first (keep in mind that I never played it with low action).

  • for bending its great....

  • gamatos!

  • popo vogaei apo makria oti eisai ellhnas!!!

  • Vogaei ha ha kalo. Fantazomai ap tin profora kai to spikarisma pou nai for the ..outsen tha to les. Kalitera na afinoume tis kithares na milisoun ha ha.

  • Are all of those frets scalloped?

  • All of them up to the bone and deeply.

  • wow...cool neck. !!

  • scalloped frets

  • what strat is that

  • have you spilled something on your neck?

  • yes.

    his godly talent.

  • ya talk about like that Inlay only cost that guy $3000 like wtf lol

  • yeah right maybe 20-60 bux an then you just put it in.

  • mdr
