my question is how you get the guitar to be in the program because i have a guitar input jack that i got from radio shack and i can play guitar on computer
@CoDGunner1 I'm not in the audio industry and I agree that a lot of this stuff is well overpriced and underengineered, but I have the VS 100 and a soon to be sold Roland BR800 as well as about 8 grand US worth of video gear. I can tell you quite plainly that manufacturing costs on something like the BR800 might be 10 bucks, but the VS100 is not. Had they spent an additional 10 bucks and added a couple more XLR inputs, that would have been nice, but there is a LOT of stuff in that box.
@CoDGunner1 You've confused us here. What sucks about the video? This video was intended to show why the VS-100 might be useful for some people who need the functionality and features that it offers. It's meant to be a quick look at the workflow of the VS-100. Also the software used in the video is not SONAR 8.5 Producer - it's the SONAR VS software that comes with the VS-100 unit.
damn this i call a usefull vid not like the other crap out there ^^ one question how to use this interface when i have a mixer and pedal ??? guitar>pedal>mixer>interface>pc ?
My monitors have only RCA, optical or coax in. I am using the rca and I cant seem to use asio drivers for that out, only 1-2 or headphones, any advice?
@someguyoketcetc Make sure to turn everything off, reboot the computer, follow page 40 of your hardware manual to properly connect your equipment. Are your hardware drivers updated? Inside of the DAW, assign both your audio input and output as the V-Studio 100. Default driver as ASIO, sample rate as 16-bit at 44.1khz. Under Options, Audio, General, run the Wave Profiler. Restart the program. Select V-Studio 100 as your in and out on the track you are recording to inside the DAW as well.
how do u make the Guitar Rig LE work with the sonar VS? when i use the guitar rig first it gives distortion but the sonar doesnt make any sound and when i use the sonar first it makes sound but the guitar rig doesnt make any distortion.
you guys know you dont actually need a vs 100 or anything like that right? you can do most things like that by just using a guitar jack to headphone jack converter (forget the names of the sizes of jacks) and plugging your guitar into the headphone jack
can i play through my pedals before i plug into computer?

@CoDGunner1 Also, Cakewalk makes the VS 20 for lower cost hardware. I couldn't afford $699 either, so I bought on ebay for $350.

How do u record in Guitar Rig 4? I cant find the button :L

However, you wont get the quality sound nor the great recording tools and effects that comes bundled with the VS100.
CakewalkSoftware 2 years ago
if you work hard enough you can get amazing quality, but you're right about tools and effects

@chaincells Yes, you can add effects within the VS DAW

So can you get a lot of distortion using this?

I love the effects, and the facr that you do not need a whole lot of other equipment. This will fit well with my Fantom G.
