IMO UK politics differ from US because we are not influenced by corporations as much. I'm sure it's coming but at the moment in local elections and even parliamentary elections our MP's are voted in because of local relationships with the people of the area and not because they had more funding, funding almost doesn't exist and there is almost no advertising.
