What's happening in Afghanistan is a perfect illustration of not learning from history. The British Empire at its height couldn't subdue the country, neither could the entire might of the old Soviet Union. For the life of me I can't see how they think it's going to be any different this time round.

But I dont see why you don't have the " no shake" option activated. Steadycam, if you will.

The footage has a strange, quivering movement which adds nothing. Or are you shooting on a Flip Mino which has not shake control?

In a sense, the reason it is always the wrong people who design our Afghanistan/Pakistan policy is that decent people just throw up their hands and walk away from the problem.

Pakistan has nuclear weapons. Afghanistan has international terrorists. It's not a good combination.

The question is whether there is something we can do to aid the moderates.

Hey. My parents and younger brother lived in Kabul for two and a half years, from 2005-2008. My brother wore a bullet proof jacket to school a lot, and they had high security to their home as well. I could tell you more if you want. They were working with an NGO. Let me know if you want to talk.
