Not true. In the third Halo game, (still on Earth) there is a marine that you see as you enter a room full of Flood. (Now, this depends heavily on what difficulty you're playing on) Normally he always gets infected. But, if you throw down a Frag grenade at his feet and it bounces enough just so that only the outer reach of the blast hits him, the popcorn Flood die, and he lives. Or, if you're a REALLY good crack-shot, and have an auto-weapon, you can pop them all before they get him.
