No. Amtrak is long gone. The train in this video is possibly the 2nd to the last one off of the Cape. September 1996. No passenger trains run south of Middleboro now going towards Cape Cod. There is talk of someday extending the MBTA commuter runs at least to Buzzards Bay. Maybe someday.
Thanks. I did he search and found Herbie. I think that I have some pictures or some video around here somewhere of the same man. Eventaully I will unearth it.
No. It was later. Maybe the next week. I know I missed it because I was in the parking lot of the the Cranberry Plaza Shopping Mall in Wareham when it went by behind the stores, leaving forever. I heard it. I think that I was unaware that the last one was coming thru until after the fact. Shoot. As I remember it was the last run also for an Amtrak engineer who had been with the railroad for a long time. He was retiring. Can't remember his name.

I love the sound of the horn in the distance. And the MBTA Coach on the end was cool, too. Nice video!

I think the engineer was showing his musician side that day. That was a unique horn signal.

His last "toot" before going by you.. He had it on full, then let off, but continued.
