Not sure which Amish you are familiar with,my grandfather was an amish bishop and i grew up amish.However there is a difference between the strict Amish and the more liberal Amish.My Mother  was from the strict Amish,no phone,no electricity,no rubber tire tractors and no church houses,no cars,no computers etc.

Are you sure these are Amish? It could be, but a few things make me think it could be Mennonites.
