Hoping someone can help - we don't have a counter top in our bathroom so we're going to have to place the unit a bit away from the sink. So, how long is the cord that connects the waterpik to the main unit? We're also wondering what the width and depth dimensions are for the main unit? (height isn't really an issue). I own a WP60W I think its called and it does not replace flossing you still need to floss but its great after you brush and floss though at removing all the junk from under the gums and between the teeth that you miss

A detinist can help determine the reason for the coloring. There are many shade of teeth enamel. Continue to use the dental water jet to help remove plaque and clean below the gum line.
It may work for periodontics due to the friable gun, but I guarantee you it will not not remove mineralized plaque. For that I use ultrasonic hand pieces!

You have to be aware that you dragging food out, not into the gums when shooting the water. Those supersonic tooth brushes are instant fast but still it's only brushing and my free Oral-B big handle brush works fine. But I will always start with the Ultra waterpik. This thing can remove hard water build up in the sink, it is powerful enough. They have been too careful with past lower powered models because of your misuse of a good thing. I love my waterpik ultra!! I use it along with brushing and flossing, but the waterpik does not replace flossing.. Flossing helps to remove plague deep below the gumline, the waterpick helps remove bacteria between teeth and slightly below the gumline, but does not impact plague as effectively as brushing and/or flossing.. If you need an easy solution to flossing with braces, you should consider the platypus flosser, just search for it on here or google.. Goodluck!
I don't understand the point of using a Water Pik Ultra if you can't replace flossing with it. Since the Ultra can't do everything that flossing can, what good is it?
Research has proven that the water pik is much more efficient at removing plaque and debris from inside your mouth as opposed to floss, the only difference being is that floss can get in between teeth deep below the gumline a little better but only between the sides of teeth, the waterpik goes everywhere around teeth and with the ultra kit you get a pik pocket attachment that gets very deep below the gumline and gives floss a run for it's money. The jet tip should be glide along the gum line, pausing briefly between teeth to clean. Place the tip just next to the teeth. It takes some practice to become proficient in using the dental water jet along the tongue side of the teeth.

Yeah, I have braces and this is soooo helpful. It's just sooo easy, way better than flossing. i'm a really bad flosser, my gums always bleed and swell up, haha, yeah I don't know why I just can't floss.

The Waterpik® dental water jet is safe to use on any setting. First time users should always start out at the lowest pressure setting then gently increase the pressure over time to at least a medium setting.

i have a major fear of flossing because i just hate the idea of string between my teeth. My dentist said i may be having small signs of gingivitis and now I'm a little scared. Will using the WaterPik decrease my chances of getting gingivitis? If so by how much approximately?

I've been flossing, using an Oral-B electric toothbrush, and a Oral-B flouride mouthwash that my dentist recommend. So far I haven't had any problems with this combination. Is it still worth getting a Waterpik or is this really something that's for people who just don't floss?

Dental water jets should be used on the most comfortable pressure setting. The level of pressure will vary for each user, depending on the health of their gums.

Thank you for considering Water Pik dental water jets. Your dentist is correct in suggesting using the appliance on the lowest setting. You may also wish to use the Pik Pocket tip to gently irrigate tender areas. The Pik Pocket tip comes with the WP-100 and WP-450.

I love my waterpik ultra, but I often wonder is anyone out there actually using this thing on the 10th setting? I get nervous about damaging my gums on the 3rd setting.. Who would benefit from using setting 10 and for what reason?

I just had 4 wisdom extractions 2 weeks ago and a friend suggested that I use a waterpik to help me remove any particles that are stuck near my wisdom teeth. I was wondering if this product is gentle enough for that purpose? I know it has different levels of pressures but from the reviews I've read, it has said that it is still hard even at low pressure. I've already asked my dentist if I could use a waterpik and they said it was fine, but to be gentle. Overall, is this product right for me?

i just got one of these from Boots. i've just tried it in the bathroom and i'm impressed already. one thing tho - i have sensitive gums and it actually hurts because of the pressure..and i'm using the low setting.... i hope my gums will get better in time and this wont hurt as much.

I love my waterpik ultra!! I use it along with brushing and flossing, but the waterpik does not replace flossing.. Flossing helps to remove plague deep below the gumline, the waterpick helps remove bacteria between teeth and slightly below the gumline, but does not impact plague as effectively as brushing and/or flossing.. If you need an easy solution to flossing with braces, you should consider the platypus flosser, just search for it on here or google.. Goodluck!

I don't understand the point of using a Water Pik Ultra if you can't replace flossing with it. Since the Ultra can't do everything that flossing can, what good is it?

Research has proven that the water pik is much more efficient at removing plaque and debris from inside your mouth as opposed to floss, the only difference being is that floss can get in between teeth deep below the gumline a little better but only between the sides of teeth, the waterpik goes everywhere around teeth and with the ultra kit you get a pik pocket attachment that gets very deep below the gumline and gives floss a run for it's money. The waterpik just gives you one more advantage.

makes my life 5 times better. i hate flossing and using this after meals, works great with braces. i fully recommend this to anyone who wonders if it will work for them. i was nervous about the whole idea of getting braces and the after care but this system has made everything easier. i also put a little Listerine in with the warm water, gives a nice mint taste.

We recommend the lowest setting for first time users and the tip at a 90 degree angle to the tooth. Gradually increase the pressure to a comfortable setting. The Water Pik is a safe and effective method to clean around and under the gum line and between teeth.

Man, I just used my WaterPik for the first time today and man! i really owned my mouth haha, the thing is crazy. But yeah, it was good. I have a permanent retainer cemented to my bottom teeth and it has made them impossible to floss which results in bad breath, i think the waterpik is going to solve this! I'm so happy i found out about it. Definitely get this!

Let me ask you this...how come I get no pressure, it seems I could have attached a special device to the end of a garden hose and got more pressure. Is it suppose to be coming out faster than it does. It looks like it just flows out....no pressure. I'm confused.

Just got mine a couple of days ago and its hard to get used to working it without having water going everywhere. Its gotten less messy after each time I'ved used it. I really love it. I use it with lukewarm water and a little bit of mint mouthwash and my teeth feel cleaner.

I just got mine today and I tried it out tonight and I LOVE IT. Just like goin to the dentist!! And who is complaing about the water goin everywhere? Mother never told you to waterpik with your mouth closed?? It feels so good to clean my teeth. I should have got this thing years ago. Makes my mouth feel 10 times better. Dont like spitting out water from cleaning your teeth, dont clean your teeth. I love water. : D

yeah. in this commercial the unit is not turned on. turn on the damn thing and you got water flying everywhere. its a mess. if you open your mouth, the water splashes/drips out. its still a mess. close your mouth and you have to spit every 4.5 seconds
