this guy is amazing. and just so you know he's not playing eddie's solo note for note. i've been a clarinet player for 35 years and i know how hard it is to play on clarinet. keep playing like that. eddie continues to inspire a new generation of great clarinetists.
I agree with mambojazz's comment, the guy has a lot more crispier sound than Eddie's. Eddie Daniel articulations tend to be, well, more classical type, legato, smooth. But Jazz, one of the reasons I like jazz, is full of expressions: swings, breaks, accents, etc. On the issue of borrowing or copying other players, it is a fair game. As you get much older you develop a style of 'entirely' your own.
cant understand the bad comments, this guy is really good. So he imitates Daniels... He's young.. will soon do his own thing and what will you say then ?
I saw this guy playing Voo Da Mosca...you gotta see that man. I'm from Brasil, and I've heard Mandolin's work many times, but not like that. Anyway, This guy is from spain?...what I can see here is a lot of discipline...a heavy portion of that.
Blah,Blah,Blah agony and pavelitoo...I want to see you guys doing it better.
I'm a clarinet player myself, and I can imagen the amount of time he has spent with that fucking clarinet to play like that. His technic is fucked up man..so clear and precise! Benito, I don't know who the fuck you are man, but you've got big balls to play that shit. I bet we will hear a lot from this fucking guy...he looks fucking young here...SHIT!
I agree with pavelitoo. He copies Eddie's solo note for note (except for some mistakes)...but misses the real point of Eddie's playing: the articulations shouldn't be played so choppy, etc...messes up the "feel."
It does sound like an Eddie Daniels solo. I'm a clarinet player as well but I don't see anything wrong with his articulation. I kind of enjoy his tone surprising more than Eddie Daniels. I imagine he must play a lot of latin music. Latin articulation should be crispier. It's sounds better than Eddie Daniels actually. ARTICULATION WISE ANYWAY.
very nice..... i would love that this guy improvise!! why he played eddie's transcribed solos??? well anyway... he plays well! but he's not as good as eddie.....

you guys start to lose credibility when you say that a guy copying is better than the original. Go back to your bedroom and practice.
