Not sure why all the posters are over reacting. I enjoyed the video and enjoyed the summary. I like that it was high level just covering the larger religions. To the degree that it is accurate or not accurate I still enjoyed having the big picture. Good work... I can research the details of accuracy on my own at least this is a good start.
Far too many religious zealots are commenting on this video and missing the entire point. It's not about which religion came first or which one is correct, it's just illustrating the expansion of the five major world religions according to historical records, NOT according to the Vedas/Torah/Koran/etc. Yeah, the video is not perfect: it's trying to fit 5000 years of history in 2 minutes.
Islam was there when the first man on earth arrived i.e. Adam (P.B.U.H) he was the first messenger of Allah ,and after him came thousands of messengers namely ABRAHAM (IBRAHIM), NUH (Noah),YOUSUF(peace be upon them all) and then many others... Muhammad(PBUH) was the last messenger of God
India switched between Hinduism and Buddhism many times, perhaps you should have mentioned 232 BCE when King Ashoka made Buddhism the Indian state religion, and back then the old India went further to the West than on your map, covering Iran, Banglasdesh and Afghanistan.
@YouAreNotAMonkey Atlantis was the same religion was Adam & Eve (sarcasm - neither existed). I'm dumb because I don't believe in the invisible sky daddy?! Just because something's old & written down doesn't make it true! Animals and trees being created after man (because Adam was lonely - Gen 2), now that's a fairy tale! Evolution, the change in the gene pool over time is documented fact. I like Psalm 137:9 "blessed is he who takes and dashes his little ones against the rocks!" Baby bashing #FTW
@ sandeeprajsharma, it says major religions you dumb ass. Egyptians is not a religion, greeks are not a religion, the romans are not a religion, you fail the test , go praise jesus you dumb fuck!
This video is inane and misleading....man!it would lead one to believe that the spread of religion is a simple process, just a number of colors diffusing through land masses...the cretin doesnt know once a huge chunk of India was buddhist(since Buddha preached in India and buddhism is an Indian religion). It spread to Tibet and eastwards later. Also, the sweep of islam covers may areas that are actually Hindu/sikh dominated...in other words, this video suffers from misinformation of its author.
hinduism didnt started after birth of krishna..it has existed since start, hinduism is not the actual name of religion, its sanatan dharma.according to its texts it has it dating to 1.7 million bce.(vedas)
true ... it doesn't start with the brith of krishna, however the vedas, which are believed to be the most ancient scriptures of one of the oldest religion, are considered to be written around 3000 BC conventionally, a more modern belief is that the vedas were brought in by Aryans around 1700 BC (highly disputed theory - considered faulty now a days)
Hinduism forms from Indo-Aryans conquest and merged their folk religion with the native. The men went crazy in the Forrest and once they met Krishna, it was obvious what they thought. I guess the religions predecessor were since before Homo sapiens.
@Scoinsoffaterocks please read forbidden archeology by micheal cremo.i am not a hindu but some things are beyond our undertanding in that religion.humans have coexisted even with dinasours etc..science changes everyday with new discoveries wats written in these holy texts is line drawn on concrete, whichw e humans are realising in bits

@Scoinsoffaterocks actualy, you may preceive them as lies acccording to your understanding of this world. i beleive in possibilities from wich arise probabilities, which in other words is quantum physics.people living in caves could never imagin flying in areolplanes, its an common thing now, people of our age of intellect can only think beyond a certain point, beyond that point lies ignorance.anything is possible in this vast universe
@Scoinsoffaterocks micheal cremo? i belive him cuz it fits in the vedic archeological calendar.i am not talking about just planet earth.i just preceive things diffrently.the only thing i would not belive is media or the government. nobody knows the purpose of human being. wat is god, who is god.if we only cud get out of our busy working scheduals.we arer abel to think of ourselves and think of our purpose.other than that we do what we are told to since birth.
@TIgeracademy were going by historical facts here, not by what your fairy tale texts have to say. Hey everyone, look, this dumb fuck thinks we have been around for 1.7 million years!
@partrickplaysfender You need to get you facts correct. To believe what Tigeracademy is telling you need to visit south Asia. You giving a fact Krishna was born. Krishna is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. There where 8 incarnation taken before Krishna's one an one more left yet to be taken. So please refer to ancient text and books which really tested to be very old than what you have told. Don't go only by facts which western world proved.
@rezcrash88 if its a cult then how come soo many people became muslim? r u trying to say an overwhleming majority of humans on this planet openly accepted a religon that wanted to cut ppls heads off?? hahaha
The problem I find with this time line and many other representations of the christian religion is the fact that they do not differentiate between the Roman Catholic Christians and the Protestant Christians. While I do understand not segregating every denomination, one has to admit there is a major split that constitutes the recognition of the Protestant revolution as a separate religion.
Not in the name of Buddha, but that's besides the point.
What does "Not necessarily" mean in this context? Of course my statement is not necessarily true. It's not logically verified. It's empirically verified. WWII is a secular war.
I am saying that, would religions not exist as we know it, world might have been so different that the wars wouldn't be fought either. Besides, wasn't Hitler religious? And didn't he see his race as the one true race before the face of God?
"I am saying that, would religions not exist as we know it, world might have been so different that the wars wouldn't be fought either." When you provide evidence that strongly suggest that, I'll give it some thought. Hitler was many things. He apparently was Roman Catholic, and also hated Christianity, calling it a scourge in the world.
"might" is a possibility. It's logically possible (in the broad sense) than that happen. It's also logically possible that there wouldn't be difference. Check out the quotes attributed to him in the God Delusion.

This video LEAVES OUT a lot of jewish/christian history!!!
it left OUT Noah and his family,
it left OUT Nations Descended from Noah,
it left OUT the tower of babel
it left OUT the family of Adam:
it left OUT Seth, Enosh, Cainan, Mahalalel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech,
It also left OUT the Family of Noah, and Shem, Arphaxad, Salah, Eber, Peleg, Reu, Serug, Nahor, and Terah.
it Forgot Adam and Eve.
After the flood 8 people started us all.

@kensei85 You call it a fairytale; I call the bible thousands of years of recorded history.
See, when the princess kisses the frog, and the frog turns into a prince…that is a fairytale.
Another fairytale is evolution, when a frog/fish mutates into the human race.
Just because you don’t LIKE any of the history in the bible does not mean it’s not true.
Don’t be intolerant and close-minded. The life of Jesus is true, as is bible history. Jesus wants you to be close with him
