Never got to see Queen live but I was able to check out this show last May. AMAZING! This song in particular was a high light. I hope they come back to the US next year.
Wow...I've rarely been impressed w/ Queen Tributes (mainly guitar work & more so the vocal work)...this guy does the best Freddie from '86 on (from what I've heard)...& the dude from 'Queen For A Day' does the best late 70's early 80's Freddie. My hat is off to Gary for this performance. Spine-Tingling...
From those pieces I've heard, Face It Alone is very tough song, but I think Gary can do it properly, maybe after some time working around it.
I agree, Roger+Brian must finish the fraking song and only if (!) actual Mr. Mercury not completed some vocal parts back in 1991 - let Gary complete it for Fred's sake. He is the huge fan too.
Man... Face It Alone is so sad and so beautiful...
Queen actually never did this one live (and the recording released on 'Made In Heaven' album in 1995). Nobody of those impersonators (no matter in studio or on stage) also never comes even close to Freddie's vocal performance (from the recording).
And, oh God, Gary fucking did it (99%). And he's did it LIVE!! Huge respects to Mr. Mullen and his band.
@vbobkovsky yes but freddie couldnt do thiese things live...he had less control. Freddie MErcury this isnt but close to it it is VERY close...sorry but Freddie live had less control on his voice than garry mullen but thats because gary works on his voice to get it close to freddie
Wow, this is sooo amazing. First time ive heard Gary performed this. Thans to the taper for this catch! Nice use of the camera also, switching between the piano and Gary!
People, this is as close as it gets! Ive seen Gary live myself and i was blown away, almost as seeing Queen live in 86!
very impressive!!! saw him in concert one time but I'd like to see him once again to hear the new songs he sings!

I agree, this is a very good tribute band, and even though no one can reach Freddies voice, there are definatly some resemblance in the voice

This guy is good fit for Queen but this guy must 100% change his dress & fashion style so that the curse of Freddie Mercury will be Less.
Remember Arnel Pineda he is experiencing now the curse of Steve Perry at least not in fashion but in vocal style.
scared08ph 2 years ago
Nobody compares to Freddie Mercury or Steve Perry. But at least Gary had the integrity to make a career as a tribute act.

@vbobkovsky Every time I discover the songs he covers, my only thought is "Whoa. He IS Freddie."
Niavy64 1 year ago
@vbobkovsky Not to be a wiseass or something, but this is Queen, without the great Freddie Mercury, but still Queen, and it's live:
/watch?v=3uxKNm1kJR4&feature=relmfu
Although a huge part went away, the spirit of Queen never died on the november 24th 1991.
I've seen One Night of Queen with Gary Mullen in my hometown in Norway myself! He's unbelievably good!
