@frankiev1231 It looks like something happened here. You can see her touch her left ear a couple of times around 2:15, then she gets a very brief look of concern on her face just before she walks off. No clue what it could have been, though.

@glclow1 She is cupping her ear to hear herself better. That look of concern is her not wanting to sing out of tune. Everyone uses in-ear monitors now, back then it was speaker wedges pointing back at her, but the guitar and bass amps are fighting her hearing them.

@lanes58- i was in Andrew's band for the last several years until his recent death. You can see me (Im playing the Les Paul, standing) w/ Andrew at a 2006 house concert playing DRIVE MY CAR on youtube. Andrew told me one time his HEAT WAVE solo was a first take, then they added a couple of nores at the end of it. Just his Les Paul through an amp. The man was incredibly gifted musically, and a nice, if slightly eccentriic guy. Miss him very much.

LOL, I had jeans like that: tight on top and huge bells at the legs. Have always loved Linda. I do feel a bit sorry for her thought because she was never comfortable with the "sex kitten" image she projected which is one reason why she was never concerned with gaining weight.

@ntxmt Few people have the combination of looks, charisma, voice, charm, and audience appeal. That is what is so awesome about her. I totally agree. I've seen her in concert twice she sounded just as good on stage as her studio recordings. And she looked better on stage than her album pictures. Truly awesome.

@ShockDoc I agree big time. Prisoner in Disguise was the Lp and it was recorded in 1975. Andrew Gold played piano, drums and guitar on the Heat Wave cut. His lead ride rocked.

Since I first heard her in 1967, I’ve been a huge fan (and I must admit have had a secret crush on her like so many other men).

She has brought joy to many millions with her incomparable vocals, angelic voice and good deeds.

Johnnie Carson put it best, after hearing her sing, “When You Wish Upon a Star”, he said, “Now that’s real class!”

She is truly a national treasure.

It's performances like this one that made her the biggest female singer in the music business throughout most of the 1970s. She was (& still is, I think) great!
