@bigace511 Well Locust for example has really heavy vocals so yeah I'd call that math core. Choppy isn't the word i'd use. It really has to do with time signatures and tapping. Tera Melos for me would be Math Rock with some Punk almost -- that's what I get from their vocals. Most math rock doesn't contain any vocals at all. Usually it's without distortion or very little. There is this weird twang'esque sound guitars give out when tapping without distortion that is key to the Mathrock sound. IMO

@colejoshrocks I saw that same tour, but with Foxy Shazam, too. I thought TM dwarfed them , but they got a 20 minute set compared to the other's 30-60 minute sets, soyeah I could see that. I never had much respect for FoT, and Tera Melos killed it. It's all opinion.

Nah Tera Melos isn't noise. There is quite a lot of melody in nearly all their songs. They are more talented than most bands too. The guitarist shreads and plays keyboard at the same time.
in terms of actual note-for-note difficulty, that is true. however being able to memorize that intricate (and long) of a song while meshing with two other performers... the bass player is the anchor in this band. it's hard to do what he does.
this band is really good, the drummer is gone which sucks. this video isnt the greatest. the audio sounds like it was from the camera used, but hey still a fun music video. the low production is fun.

The Idea is that it's supposed to feel unsettling, It's not supposed to just be super straight forward, and there is hardcore structure. It's just not four four four four four for ever.
the beauty I find in this band is that they never perform a song the same way twice. sure important parts of the song will remain, for the most part, untouched, but everything else is an utter expression of the now and conveys to the listner how the guys think the song should sound right now, not how it sounded months ago when it was recorded or when they first played it, how they want it right now. that's how I see it and would like to hope that's how they see it. but, ya know, to each his own

I recommend hearing the album version. The drums are turned down and you can here the guitars better.

The fucking drums for this song are HORRIBLE. They don't match with the song at fucking all and are so much louder than the guitars. Even if there was talent in this song, it's hidden by the drums.

the drums are incredible for this song.
ill be honest; there are parts where i wish he'd just chill out but its fucking great. its hard to follow a guitarist that just taps for the most part.

Nah Tera Melos isn't noise. There is quite a lot of melody in nearly all their songs. They are more talented than most bands too. The guitarist shreads and plays keyboard at the same time.

in terms of actual note-for-note difficulty, that is true. however being able to memorize that intricate (and long) of a song while meshing with two other performers... the bass player is the anchor in this band. it's hard to do what he does.

this band is really good, the drummer is gone which sucks. this video isnt the greatest. the audio sounds like it was from the camera used, but hey still a fun music video. the low production is fun.

The Idea is that it's supposed to feel unsettling, It's not supposed to just be super straight forward, and there is hardcore structure. It's just not four four four four four for ever.

the beauty I find in this band is that they never perform a song the same way twice. sure important parts of the song will remain, for the most part, untouched, but everything else is an utter expression of the now and conveys to the listner how the guys think the song should sound right now, not how it sounded months ago when it was recorded or when they first played it, how they want it right now. that's how I see it and would like to hope that's how they see it. but, ya know, to each his own
