I've had large dogs my entire life and this disgusts me. It only strengthens my belief that you should have to get a license to get a dog and in order to get that license, you have to take a mandatory course in dog behavior, care and training and pass an exam.

This makes me sick. Ive been working with rescue dogs for about 5 years now, I've seen many abuse cases and have even worked with Pitbull terriers which have no aggression in them, even though, after what they've been through they have every right to be aggressive.
Dogs are only dangerous if you train them to be, these people are training attack dogs or fighters not dogs for 'protection'.

The people in this video are not responsible, and they do not have any kind of control over their dogs whatsoever. If you're in control, your dog will come when called and stop whatever he is doing and come to the sound of your voice, leaving any distraction behind.
It's one thing to have a pit or another intimidating dog to look "cool", but be a responsible owner and make your dog be a picture of the breed standard and treat them RIGHT.

My dog is not a weapon. Clearly none of these dogs were well trained, or the owners for that matter. Even in his most agitated state, it would only take one word for my dog to lay down and behave. I know a lot of kids, teens, and young aldults who are like I either have or am getting a pit bull. I just look at them with disgust. People have problems with insecurity and confidence. It's just sad. They are good dogs but they think differently and want them for the wrong reasons. If you really want a dog for protection that is loyal, like a guard dog. Get a Doberman, Shepard, Akita, Mastiff, or even a Husky. They are extremely loyal, protective, and are easy to train.

Here in finland I often come across with (concidered) "dangerous" breeds when either during visiting the bigger city nearby or just in my own smaller hometown. I never think of the owners as some egoheads when I see these dogs, nor do I see them as smth to go round many meters away cause of safety. None has ever showed aggression towards me nor have I seen any show aggression towards another dog outside. Why? All of them must have GOOD-DECENT owners who treat them properly and well!

This makes me sick. Ive been working with rescue dogs for about 5 years now, I've seen many abuse cases and have even worked with Pitbull terriers which have no aggression in them, even though, after what they've been through they have every right to be aggressive.
Dogs are only dangerous if you train them to be, these people are training attack dogs or fighters not dogs for 'protection'.
The real 'monsters' are the people on the other end of the lead, not the dogs, but its the dogs that suffer.

Maybe they should take the pulling equipment off their dogs, and they'll have more control. Harness = pull. Half of those reported "Pitbulls" were just Staffie mixes. Pitbulls aren't stocky or short, they're long-legged and athletic. The short and stocky things are American Bullies. I don't think they're banned in the UK.

Most of Michael Vick's dogs were rehabilitated, re-homed, and used as therapy dogs. So, that's proof it can be done. That's why you need to train your dog to watch out of you, and you need to let him know you'll do the same for him. The people in this video are not responsible, and they do not have any kind of control over their dogs whatsoever. I know a lot of kids, teens, and young aldults who are like I either have or am getting a pit bull. I just look at them with disgust. People have problems with insecurity and confidence. It's just sad. They are good dogs but they think differently and want them for the wrong reasons. If you really want a dog for protection that is loyal, like a guard dog. Get a Doberman, Shepard, Akita, Mastiff, or even a Husky. They are extremely loyal, protective, and are easy to train.

I have a Rottie, I've got vids on here of him, you can see if you'd like. I don't feel any tougher walking down the street with him than I would without him. He is not for a weapon. Even though I think he would protect me, I don't train him to do so, and I pray I never have to find out.

Dogs should be loyal and protect their owners when necessary but that needs to go hand in hand with obedience training. It all comes down to the owner and how the dog was raised. If the only reason you have a dog is for security then you have no business owning any animal.

@richythomas True, I have done alot of crime and hanged around in gangs just being a dick to people, fighting being a drug dealer, tag all sorts, but my mates never wanted to be like the US gangs we laughed at them, just how they talk act and dress. But fuck it all, it's a waste of time and it destroys peoples lives it did mine. Back on point though I love pitbulls great smart dogs, it's a dam shame these chavs do bad crap which will lead to a real ban again, it's not fair.

Here in finland I often come across with (concidered) "dangerous" breeds when either during visiting the bigger city nearby or just in my own smaller hometown. I never think of the owners as some egoheads when I see these dogs, nor do I see them as smth to go round many meters away cause of safety. None has ever showed aggression towards me nor have I seen any show aggression towards another dog outside. Why? All of them must have GOOD-DECENT owners who treat them properly and well!

My neighbor is one of those guys that gets things that will boost his esteem, so he got himself a Pitbull. Anyway, a few months ago, his Pitbull got loose and came onto my farmland, that my big, territorial German shepherd protects! My German shepherd wiped the floor with the Pitbull. Feeling bad for the dog, i called my dog off, and the Pitbull ran home crying and never returned! IPeople with Pits dont understand dogs like GSD, CAO,etc, can defend sheep from predators and shoudnt be messed with
