  • Ah Norman Oklahoma Home of the Microbursts.

  • Hail Sale!

  • This vid is nowhere near what i had at my house that day! i live in norman and i saw this on that day. but it does give you an idea. i did not have a camera at the time>:-(

  • Wow.

  • do people die in those?.. are those winds strong enough?

  • When a bad storm is coming just do one thing..... Get the cammera and recored it!

  • Typically micro-bursts happen when a storm literally just disintegrates and drops everything in one spot. Wind, hail, rain, it just looses all upward motion.

  • Was pretty the same situation here in Germany on 24.08.2011!

  • I was over at the 7eleven on 12th and Robinson and i was sittingin a car it was scary as shit bro

  • all i can say is holy crap.

  • not quite the monster like in 2010, (the cell that hit OKC) but damn intense.

  • Props for dramatic camera work. Other people look like they're filming with a goddamn ham sandwich...

  • We had a micro burst hit our mobile home park in Austin, Tx a year or so ago....we needed a new roof due to the hail damage and this storm scared the hell out of us! It lasted about 15-20 minutes is all, but that was enough!

  • @cootercat486 We had a baby microburst in San Francisco in 2000 and I was downtown when a table got tossed in to the street. Max wind was 63 mph.

  • @longbeach225 I had no idea that ya'll got those in SF!, must be pretty rare! Micro bursts are scary and dangerous. Most people laugh about them.......until they are in one! LOL!

  • shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttt..........

  • We could use one of these in San Francisco, CA to help clean the crackheads away.

  • @longbeach225 LOL! It hasn't worked so far down here in Austin, so don't count on it! LOL!

  • @cootercat486 LOL! Put their dope in front of the path of a tornado and say go get it.. lmao!!

  • @longbeach225 LMAO! Yup! Wouldn't see hide nor hair of them again!......Talk about street cleaning! LOL!

  • I remember a microburst hit OKC a few months ago, I almost shat my pants D:

  • I remember when i used to live in Lufkin, Texas when i was a kid and something like this happened.

  • Did you see chuck norris? He was walking his dog.

    :p

  • I live in Norman. It happened right before we left for Nashville. It was defenitly a night to remember.

  • O_O omg...im sry for that car T_T

  • Just crazy!

  • and I used TO get SCARED of BRAZILIAN storms ... THIS things LOOKS heavy

  • Oh yeeah!! Been suckin here...nothing lately. Awesome bros!

  • at least he don't need a car wash.

  • can i buy that car off of u? seems sturdy

  • No need to pull your car into the garage where you're standing. I'm sure it's fine out there.

  • all I could think is, oh crap the car! the car!

  • What's the difference between a micro burst and tornado? Both seemed equally damaging. Scary video-thanks!

  • @meddetect10 A micro burst is a sudden burst of wind. For the most part the micro burst is an anomaly to science. A tornado on the other hand is a spiral of wind created by the collision of hot, cold and dry air. They impact and interact in a way that creates a small funnel cloud. These funnel clouds are formed very often, but unless things go right a tornado will most likely not form. Back to the micro burst most people believe that it is simply a burst of strong wind.

  • @inklasso Thanks so much for explaining the differences to me. I love these weather videos and never get tired of them! We had mammatus clouds in our area yesterday (Virginia) and my husband captured them with his cell phone. They were gigantic! No twister though.

  • @inklasso Thanks so much for explaining the difference between these too. I love these storm videos and watch them for hours at a time.

We did have mammatus clouds here in Virginia yesterday and my husband got to see these for the first time. He took pics with is cell phone-was so excited.

Thanks again and have a blessed day!

  • @inklasso isn't a micro burst the sudden collapse of a thunderstorm cell?

  • Wow

  • i love American neighborhoods

  • Hardcore Weather

  • HOLY F*** The winds were like 100mph in some sections. I almost thought the storm I caught on cam back on june 18th were going to produce these winds.

  • guessing they wanted to protect the lawn mower rather than the car from the hail.

  • o mio dioooooooo O.O

  • This is what happens when Chuck Norris sneezes.

  • Caused by a butterfly flapping its wings in Mexico.

  • why are you outside thats stupid

  • @jeffhardyrobot why are you watching it thats stupid.

  • MAYBE just MAYBE you should have moved that lawn mower and put the white car into your garage BEFORE the GOLF BALL size hall came down! Just a suggestion.

  • i felt sorry for that car :(

  • we had an event like this in SC recently that lasted for about 15 minutes. with wind gusts over 75 mph.

  • i love how the lawnmower is sitting safely in the garage and the car is out in the golf-ball sized hail

  • Lol, gotta love Oklahoma. <3

  • I couldn't stop watching this storm, as dangerous as it was it was also fascinating.

  • bet that white car looks like a golf ball now

  • Request unedited version.

  • LOL

  • MICROBURST!

  • Norman looked like the apocalypse had hit that night, the whole town was shut down. We tried to get some tbell and gas and were forced to turn around because everything was closed.

  • *waves goodbye to parked cars*

  • wow, that is soooooo scary, i would be FREAKING OUT if that hit my house, wow

  • So why was the lawn mower INSIDE the garage while the car was OUTSIDE in the hail storm? I believe I could have made room.

  • With this shit and the earth quakes we getting here ( Christchurch ) you could make a better end of the world movie than any of the ones that are out! .lol

    but really its scary xD

  • @InsaneBurrito45 it lasted about a minute. It was calm-ish hail and rain for a few minutes then crazy wind for about 1, then back to hail and rain. It's called a Microburst or a downburst cause it doesn't last long, just a burst.

  • Every house in my neighborhood had their fences destroyed....it was crazy! Someone's basketball goal flew from one side of the neighborhood to the other, wizard of oz style. Literally flew...

  • Youtube hates white cars!

  • damn thats crazy i live in OKC and nothin like that happend just rained for like 10 min

  • lol we floridians get these every other day during the summers

  • First it is nice and shiny wether, than it starts to hail a bit, then it is like a if there is a 747 taking off in front of your house and then there is just nothing.

  • ???? you filmed on this side first. and the you were in the other guy's garage? how? did you just ran outside?

  • Are you sure this was a micro burst, and no Tornados in the area?

  • Great Video!

  • Chuck Norris is Mad !!!

  • This is just a glimpse of how furious can nature get.

  • Out here in New Mexico we don't get many Tornados (about 9 a year...most are EF-0 or EF-1).

BUT, we sure get Micro Bursts.

T-Storms will build rapidly and fall apart even faster.

When a 45,000 ft T-Storm falls apart in a couple of minutes the rain and wind are stunning.

Always gets the adrenaline moving...but fun to experience.

I have seen the visibility drop below 20 ft many times.

We just pick up the neighbor's lawn furniture and return it to them.

    And then pick up shingles.

  • insane!! i was in norman when it happened

  • what was the wind speed?

  • Where was this in Norman, approximation would be fine!

  • @KrashKing405 Northcentral-ish side.

  • HOLY CRAP! WAS THE CAR FINE

  • So how much was your medical bill from getting drilled from all that hail?

  • Nice car in driveway, lawn mower in garage, oops.

  • me gusto mucho saludos

  • Mother Nature is one bad bitch.. I love you Mother Nature.

  • Well, it's a good thing the hail didn't damage that push mower :P

  • Hail stones are great in margaritas.

  • Ahhh......Global Warming.

  • wo'ow...!!

  • yes i ask the same, how is it a microburst?

  • How is that a microburst? The few microbursts I have seen split power polls and mature trees in half, let alone those small ones in the video. Just looks like a rough storm to me?

  • @MGMG8GT it did split power poles and mature trees...this neighborhood got lucky, check koco.com for pics

  • hmm...can you explain how this happens? I understand tornadoes but what are these exactly?

  • @lozball666 Microburst a rush of air that moves downward from a thunderstorm. They are cause by different factors. Microburst can be cause by when precipitation falls through ha dry air and cooling it and that air can accelerate downward at top speeds or they can be cause by when the jet stream push a portion of the storm ahead of the parent storm can carry some of the jet stream air downward. These storms pose extreme hazard to aircraft.

  • terrifying. what does that dude say at :35 seconds?

  • @bonersforloners Microburst

  • 1:29 HURRREEEGGHHHHHHHH

  • who recorded this? is it someone from the tornado titans team?

also i love when the person at the end says

"That was one of the better weather moments of 2011!"

  • @lilpooch99 Yeah, this was Chris taking the video!!

  • @SupercellHunting o wow i feel sorry for him =(

  • Haha feel like a stalker since I knew this was your house Chris

  • in russia this is when all the children go out to play

  • Nature, she be TROLLIN

  • I absolutely love what mother nature throws at us, and love that people like to video it and share it with us.

  • sorry about the damage this hit just south of us. We lucked out.......(THIS TIME)

    Nice vid though

  • Thats wild,

  • What side of Norman where you on? I live near 12th and Lindsey and we had hail coming down like that for at least 20 mins. When it was over, we had hail ankle deep in my yard with foot drifts, had to have hubby push the screen door open to get out. I still have piles in the yard today

  • guess the white car isnt ur fav?! lol

  • fantastic microburst.very nice video

  • Holy crap. That was intense O.o

  • Freaking awesome video Chris. I wished I had videoed at our house , I was too busy going wow look at that crap..lol

  • Freaking awesome video Chris.

  • Jesus holy mother of huge balls of sacking fucking hell! If I was there I would of freaked out and gotten excited at the same time. Just look at the power of that storm, it's infuckingCREDIBLE! THE WIND, HAIL, just..... omg, this is.....CRAZY! It looked like it snowed a bit after wards. Incredible video, keep this up! This is AMAZING!!

  • woah! amazingly quick!

  • excellento!

  • Hey SupercellHunting 3 words:

    Get.A.Tripod.

  • wow you couldnt even see across the street... guess it makes for an easy chase when the cells come to you huh?? keep it up guys and stay safe

  • looked like 80 mph winds

  • If you're looking for a new car, go up to Norman for some Hail Sales! :P

  • @moodycait

I swear you took the words right out of my head.

  • @moodycait LOL my mom had just bought a new car in Norman, pulled it into the garage mins before the storm. guess she shoudl have waited

  • I really wanna go stand out in this!!!

  • That storm was crazy intense for not being hyped up like past storms. A lot of damage was done down here in the southwest, Elgin area. My poor mother's new porch swing was destroyed along with my dad's grill. Thank god our travel trailer made it through the storm, we've only had it a year since our last one was destroyed in 2009 with a crazy storm that totaled it.

  • lol ouch looks like fun actually... Minnesota hasn't seen much in the way of storms this year :p yet

  • @tman383 yeah im finding it a let down

  • shouldn't that be called a megaburst?

  • Dull moments of the nature

  • I feel bad for the white car. the insurnce company probably totaled it too..

  • damn nature you scary

  • Lawnmowers: worth more protecting than the sedan. Nice video though, the time lapse of the actual microburst is hella badass!

  • damn good thing you guys where ok, Tornado Alley is really bad this year.

  • That is just insane

  • That was one serious business microburst yall had there
