Maybe if u think really hard about it, zombies on this movie are scared of will smith... Like they dont go hunting for him, and they even have to spend daytime indoors to keep away from him driving around hunting :S i'd be scared too of a man who can dissipate an alien invasion, become a stockbroker, save seven peoples lives, rap, make us laugh, hates robots, stops a robot uprising, and also is immune to a virus which turns people pale and makes them breathe heavily...

a) This is only a movie, no need to cry over a dog dying...

and...

b) Even if it was real, the dog had gotten infected. If it was kept alive, it would have brutally attacked Robert and possibly killed him.
