  • there will be lasers. :3

  • stop wasting your time and get back to things that matter.

  • is aphophis an asteroid or a space ship? it could be an alien space ship.

  • EVEN WITH 10% ERROR WILL PASS BY 200.000 KM

  • 250000 KM

  • MAIS POUR QUOI CE PRENDRE LA TETTE!!! POUR CE DIRE JE SUIT DEVIN J'AI PRÉDIS LA FIN DU MONDE GROS CON TU SERA PLUT LA POUR TE LA PÉTÉE!!!

  • People who say Apophis is only small therefore it will cause not significant damage are joining in a deception. Firstly no one knows the make up of the Apophis. It could be lose rock and ice or it could be solid iron. The difference between the energy of these two would be very significant. Secondly they don't tell you that their calculations are based on Apophis landing on a standard surface of the earth. They don't factor in the possibility it will hit a mega volcano with a huge magma chamber.

  • I really hope it won't hit us

  • @aFemale1 i think we may have to nuke this asteroids , destroiy it if it is indeed an ateroid, it could be a ship. but if it is an asteroid , is far too close in 2029 to let continuing fliying, we all may beed to destroy it, honestly

  • @mariamole011 i agree

  • well as of now its ranked as a 0 on the torino scale....... and the chanes of it hitting us in 2036(when its supposed to) are almost 240,000 to 1

  • If it hits venus were still gunna get fucked cus wat happens if venus moves 1 degree, it can destroy earth

  • @zapkrackenbelt06: The impact of such a small object can’t change the orbit of venus (or earth) in any considerable way. Venus constantly changes its relative position to earth without destroying anything. A direct hit wouldn’t even been felt (but heard as loud as heavy traffic) 700 km away from the impact site.

Just try to check the effects with the online Earth Impact Effects Program using these data:

    diameter: 390 m, density: 2700 kg/m³, velocity: 13 km/s, impact angle: 45°

  • it could hit venus in 2016

  • @akondick good fuck that shitty planet........

  • @lemans24fan

    Pedobear agreed that!

  • It woll get close in 2029 and 2036. It is a killer if you live within a radius of 250km of the impact local. Or in a coastal city (if it hits the Oceans). Nothing there in 2012. Must be really annoying for all thos ewho wish to die. But hey, you do not need Apophis, you have still many ways to commit suicide. Have fun!

  • This doesn't account for the fact that one of the planets can change the course of the asteriod. When Earth or Venus get very close to Apophis, then one of their orbits will most likely be changed. Both Earth and Venus are larger then the asteroid, so the space rock will have it's orbit changed. Who knows what will happen after that

  • 0.0017 AU is only 155,000 Miles, That's between us and the moon, that's a little too close for me!

  • @piquetuk: Even nearer encounters happened before in my lifetime and will happen again — without any armageddon whatsoever.

  • @albedoshader: And don’t let these artist’s impressions with craters of 2000 km diameter and huge fireballs fool you. An asteroid of the size of Apophis causes a transient impact crater of ~ 4 km diameter, resulting in a final crater of about 5 km across and 500 m deep and no considerable thermal radiation or fireball will occur. The asteroid is too small for that and doesn’t have enough kinetic energy for such impressive/cataclysmic events.

  • Sorry to say you got many of the dates wrong...for the start its encoutners in Dec 2012 is not a close encounter but a passying by

as for the Close encounters of 2029 is on Friday the 13 April and not 14..

the only two close encounters 99942 Apophis with Earth are on 13 April 2029 and 13 April 2036. the day 13 April is an important one as the Asteroids Ascending node is on that day, i.e the day the two orbit intersect.

  • i hope it hits venus

  • In April of 2016, it looks like it could possibly run into Venus...maybe Venus' pull will be strong enough to bring it into it.

  • What is this song?

  • wow! stop in at 0:37 distance of 0.1Au on 21/22 dec 2012......interesting

  • @123MrSlick

It's not really that interesting. It's already been proven beyond a doubt it will not hit the earth at that time.

even the 2036 pass of apophis has an impact probability of 1 in 250,000.

Im more concerned about those asteriod out there that haven't been discovered yet.

  • don't worry, in 2029 many artificial moons will orbit the earth as shields

  • 2012 is 0.0991 AU's thats 14 825 161.8 kilometers. Not too worried about that.

2021 is 0.115 AU thats 17 203 770 kilometers. not too worried about that either.

2029 is 0.0017 AU thats 254 316.6 kilometers, does not scare me at all.

Untill Obama classified everthing on it it was a 2012 threat. 7 trillian dollars suddenly goes poof in the banker bail out.. Then this "NEW evidence" saying it's more a 2029 2039 thing so dont worry about it..now that scares the crap outa me....

  • what music is this

  • RUN EARTH RUN!!

  • what is music plz ?

  • On what page is this simulation? Have you installed it? Please answer fast!

  • @123Bank1 This was once the site nasa

  • @abelisaurus2 so they took it off?

  • WHAT is the Programm ??

  • watch from 3:20 to 3:25 movement of Apophis and Venus

  • THUMBS UP ON LAST COMMENT!!!!

  • They say world was going is end in 2012 so NOW THIS CRAP NSSA WAT 2012 OR 2029 OR 2036 WITH DAT RUSSIN MAKE UP UR DAMM MIND....... U SCARE EVERYBODY WITH THIS CARP MAN!!!!!! WAT NEXT U GNNA BELIVE A KIDWORLD GNNA END IN............... UH ............ 2016???????????? U DNT KNOW ANYTHING...............

  • 99942 Apophis ( /əˈpɒfɪs/, previously known by its provisional designation 2004 MN4) is a near-Earth asteroid that caused a brief period of concern in December 2004 because initial observations indicated a small probability (up to 2.7%) that it would strike the Earth in 2029. Additional observations provided improved predictions that eliminated the possibility of an impact on Earth or the Moon in 2029.

  • noooooooooooooooooo ! i dont wanna dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :(((((((((((

  • We should be able to see this with a telescope just after sunset, unless it's apparent magnitude is >6. As of 2/25/11

  • i love looking at odds when it concerns our life, just like the game we are playing with our monatairy system joy ooh joy

  • and how does it compute to show how it was close to earth in the past, maybe it was equally close many times.

  • If it happens every few years, how come it hasen't collided with us before.

  • @Mrstickpepper

hmmm, well, WE ARE FUCKING GENIUS

  • Anyone else notice that at one point the asteroid is on a collision course with Venus and then later in the video it doesn't cross paths at all?

  • im on my sister acc Bill Gates going to evacuate to moon xD or mars

  • what if this thing hit the moon?

  • @militiamedia If it hits the moon, then it'll make a crater. Just like the tens, or hundreds, of thousands of objects that have hit the moon before.

  • hopefully it will land on those Afghanis who keep stoning people to death, that would be ironic.

  • @geofftek i can think of a few places that i wish it would land and afganastan wouldnt be first on my list...

but lol it would be very ironic!!!

  • they pretty much touch themselvs O_O

  • this video is indeed real. although it looks like it will hit in 2029.... the chances are very, very low on impact. but 2029, get your binoculars and telescopes ready! the asteroid will be visible with the naked eye too, but it will look like the size of a dime at arms reach.

  • RUN EARTH,RUN FASTAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAA AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • 0.0017 AU = 158025 miles... That's wicked close to Earth, better get my telescope ready for 2029

  • @BleedingHeart1970 2036 actually. this video is old, some recalculations were made. It's gonna get even closer now.

  • Damn i wish it would hit Venus instead :(

  • I DONT GIVE A SHITTTTT

  • Apophis 99942 isn't dangerous, better check out 2007 VK184...

  • I sure hope they took Venus into account for the 2016 pass!

  • @RobertMOdell ... it dint even come that close to venus... but that could effect it very easily

  • @RobertMOdell 99942 would be in an orbit hundreds of miles away (or above as seen in this sim) from venus's orbit, though

  • Does the model take into account factors such as influence by venus and solar wobble? How is the solar wind affecting the asteroid and is that accounted for? How was the model produced? What software and with what data?

  • Everything is on the official website of NASA simulation also

  • @abelisaurus2 i don"t find what page please ?

  • @CptCryBaby: Solar wobble? Don’t you think if a layman like you and me considers such variables, a professional astronomer wouldn’t consider such obvious things?
