That's the difference between a good choice of computer (Mac) and the less expensive piece of shit choice of computer that doesn't last but a year (windows pc). You get what you pay for and if you pay only lets say $600 for a computer you are going to get shit in a box that will not last you very long maybe a year or two.

The only reason that macs get less viruses is:
1. they are less popular than windows so hackers infect windows pcs instead for greater profit.
2. they have compatibility issues with other softwares. It would be near impossible to take a foreign unpopular software and put it on the mac.

i have my pc for 1 year and i only had 1 virus what was automiticly shut down by the free virus scanner from windows!
as long as your prottected you wont get viruses so easily (and scan files after a download to make sure you wont open a virus with it!)

"Macs are meant for idiots who don't even know how to use right mouse button..." incorrect sir! Macs are better for different things than pcs are. For example, if you want to go into graphic design, Macs are a must. They operate differently, DO have a right click, but are still good computers. They may be a bit overpriced, but it does depend on what you are using a computer for.

I've had a PC for years also, and no viruses.
and Mac does have right click. But if you can't figure out how to use the their mouse, just hook up a regular 3 button optical mouse. Linux, Mac or PC, who the fuck cares fanboys, use what you like, just stop being so narrow-minded.

the reason pc's get viruses, is that the operating system and computer are made by different companies. Macs have a lesser chance of getting viruses because the os and the computer are made by the same company, making it more stable.

the reason I use PC is because It is difficult and costly to have someone open the all-in-one build of most of the macs out there in order to upgrade. It's financially equivalent to buying a whole new mac (practically, and including cost of inconvenience)
It's also difficult to find good deals on parts for the machine.
For people like my dad who keeps getting viruses and doesn't need upgrades often, a mac is a good idea.

Yes. Why script viruses for more difficult platforms only to reach a small percentage of computer users when viruses are far easier to make for PCs, which are less expensive making them affordable to the average Joe who doesn't know any better?
However, Macs have taken more steps to ensure virus protection that PCs have failed to learn from. Even when Macs and PCs are neck and neck, PCs will still get more viruses. There are reasons why UNIX-based systems get less viruses than DOS-based. . .

the reason macs rarely get viruses (if any) is because of how the permissions are set up
in mac (and other linux os's) one needs access of the root user to change registry and system files
but i guess, seeing as how user friendly the mac is and the expected computer skills of people who use it

@wilhamlin I have taken care of those POS machines. Thing is I take car of my mac too and it has NEVER failed me not will it EVER fail me. That's the difference between a good choice of computer (Mac) and the less expensive piece of shit choice of computer that doesn't last but a year (windows pc). You get what you pay for and if you pay only lets say $600 for a computer you are going to get shit in a box that will not last you very long maybe a year or two.

Lion has sooo many more features that OS X 10.1, 2,3,4,5,6 didn't have like multiple desktops in mission control, airdrop, lanchpad, and many others. Second, does windows let you have moar than one desktop open at a time?? I didn't think so. So even windows is behind on something. It's not at all like some fucking free windows service package that they have which sucks. Mac's OS is the furthest thing from windows OS.

And yea, you can get FREE programs that can do just about everything, and i've had multiple desktops in XP. But Apple just releases programs in a way that make Apple users think that they were the first (like SIRI) And taking another look at the full features in Lion, i cant find anything that hasn't been done before
