On google search for "iPhone firmware download." Click on the first website and select the firmware from the dropdown menu that corresponds to the correct firmware for your device. That will download the firmware.

@McNuggets010 Oh, I misunderstood you. You will need to download the 3.1.2 firmware for your device. Then, it iTunes, hold down the shift key (option key on mac) and press the restore button. Then, browse for the firmware you downloaded and select it. To download the firmware, search google for "iPhone firmware download." It should be the 1st one that pops up.

Doesn't matter, if its an 8gb 3rd gen itouch that's not on ipt3, you can jb it untethered. But im on 3.1.2. heres a question though, i want to restore my ipod, but with 3.1.2, can i do it without going up to 3.1.3? Cheers

No, if you look closely at the title, it says firmware 3.0. If you search my videos for 'jailbreak', you will find the video for 3.1.2.

What do you mean by 'untethered.' After you jailbreak, you found out if its tethered or not. How can you have an untethered iPod if your not jailbroken? Maybe I misunderstood you...

This jailbreak is only for version 3.0. It does not work on 3.1. Only version 3.0 will work, not 3.1. You could downgrade back to 3.0...

Wait til it finishes, it may take a while. If it takes longer than 30 min, restore your iPod with iTunes and try again.

This guide only works with the new 3.0 firmware. To see wat firmware you have, open the settings app and go to General > About and scroll down a little. It should tell you there. If you don't have the 3.0 firmware, I have a video on how to get it. Just search my videos.

Help? This works perfectly until Redsn0w gets to the part where your iPod is supposed to restart. Mine restarts, but the program doesn't do anything. It just sits there as if my iPod didn't do anything. I'm normally really good with computers, but I can't figure out the issue here.

That's normal, I think I may have stopped filming and then started again when it was done. As long as it turns on in less than 10 minutes, it should be fine. 10 minutes is a lot longer than it should take.

"Timed Out" could be referring to your internet. You must be connected to a WiFi network for Cydia to function properly. Go closer to your router to get a stronger signal or something.

so u opened redsnow like i showed you in the video and you hit browse. You must have the 3.0 firmware corresponding to your device(links in description). When you browse for the firmware, find the 3.0 firmware(should be on your desktop), click on it, and then press open. This should work.
