  • this makes me feel like somking thin cigars and drinking cold carslberg while watching sylvia saint in action as I am doing right now

  • 4 people kept their hands on her! ;););)

  • That's it, after Christmas dinner I'm lighting up a menthol and sipping some vodka while listening to this.

  • Every song by the Black keys makes me feel like I should be riding a motorcycle into the sunset

  • absolutely love the black keys and this album.. Junior Kimbrough is an amazing blues player and the black keys do these songs of his really well.

  • Does any one know this is a cover? :)

The Black Keys are great but you should listen to their influences too!

  • @rawrlaurlaur ya its a junior kimborough song, all of the chulahoma songs are. he was a great influence on the keys and helped shape their own sound with some of the blues roots.

  • everynight i go outside look at the moon, have a couple beers accompanied by some cigarettes and play this song, instantly relaxing as worries become released, best remedy after a long day

  • i've been waiting for them to make a song i don't like so far it hasnt happened

  • I need this album in my life. Now.

  • I was playing this in my car the other day and some guy pulls up next to me windows down blasting Lil Wayne, so I blasted the Black Keys in response and he turned his music down..........ftw.

  • @FlufflyFrillyPonies

I guess the other guy realized how much better the Black Keys are in comparison

  • @FlufflyFrillyPonies well played sir, well played.

  • How sick you feel if you discover this band just now... Just happened to me...

  • this is one of the best grooves man.

  • 3 dislikes thats fucking awesome

  • Why the big debate about the influence of marihuana on the blues? Yeah they probably liked a smoke but those old bluesmen seem to lament upon the evils of booze from what I hear in their music.

  • @killanimalsforfun247 comparing booze to pot is like comparing apples to oranges

  • @ChiTownSaint420 Both delicious... and pot is better and cheaper.

  • @ChiTownSaint420 sometimes you like apples better than oranges....sometimes you like the oranges better than the apples, but if you like them both then you are one healthy motherfucker

  • @fernsss thats what i like to hear

  • ^_____^ Radio Moscow were one of the Black Keys insperations.

  • @jthauser Not really, since it was Dan Auerbrach who discovered Radio Moscow.

  • this sounds almost exactly like the song the breaks

  • hey check out my bands channel, the black keys are one of our main influences. feedback would be killer.

  • The ghost of Junior Kimbrough is smiling.

  • @smazzocity that he is. on the last track of this album, a phone call was recorded it was one of juniors kids. she said "you sound just like junior! thank you thank you."

  • @blitzedburgh090 Hah, yeah, I have Chulahoma. It's track 7 and it's actually titled "Junior's Wife". I love the whole album, full of soul

  • You can't tell me that the same men who poured their hearts out onto paper, guitar and microphone about hard times and such didn't smoke the reefer-If you had a name like Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Or Leadbelly then you'd probably smoke a bale.

  • génial

  • Blues has no connotation of pot, that's reggae buddy

  • I Love it.

  • ..... Wow. Blues from pot? Really? Not even close. What most people think of as "real" blues is derived from delta blues, which comes straight from soul songs put to guitar. Real blues is all about hard times, poor people, and smokey dives with cheap booze.

  • @TheGibbySG ever been to pittsburgh p.a.? lol

  • I need a cowboy hat and cigar. Black Keys rule! Seeing them in Milwaukee! :O)

  • pretty bluesey I'd say!....

  • sounds so much like Everywhere I Go

  • @beef7790 I mean the other way around

  • I thought music died time ago, then I listened The Black Keys and I believe music can be real again ^^

  • hahahahaha amazing

  • @ Shaakhal - Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check him out. =)

  • this cover makes me want to do cocaine in a bath tub full of curly fries

  • @TheUncleSteves

    WHHHAAATTTTT? LOL

  • @TheUncleSteves Never laughed that much at a comment! What a mental picture.....I think Keith Richards has done that...I might have to re-read "LIFE" This damn song has always been bad ass...even b4 the Keys!

  • this is the sound that radiates from my soul. it leaves me hollow & leaves me whole.

  • This makes me want to listen to Buddy Guy. Great stuff! =D

  • @solja19k Buddy guy is a Junior Kimbrough's fan since the early 60's, so, you should listen to Junior Kimbrough first ! ;-)

  • This song is so cool, it hurts...

  • fuck yeah!

  • I hope I can still get tickets to there show, probably all sold out.

  • Thanks to Fifa 11 I heard their song "Tighten Up". I actually never wanted to have that game, but I did it for my little brother and then I searched up on the Black Keys because I found their song particillary more brilliant than all the other tracks on the game and now I just owe the whole world to my little brother. This band is just simply as good as Jesus was to people. It could be face melting or slow and smooth like this.

Peace from Sweden. Btw I'm 15 so the gaming makes sense xD

  • @Undergroundhiphoop i owe my addiction to black keys thanks to itunes recomendations and the white stripes :)

  • @illn0r Ditto on the White Stripes. <3

  • @Undergroundhiphoop You speak great english for a 15 year old in Sweden, impressive.

  • @EpicDesires69 Haha, I'm 16 now but thanks x) I watched a lot of movies as a kid and I learnt a lot from there, so it's a great way to learn english =D

  • @Undergroundhiphoop sinister kid is on the new fight night

  • stoned or not, this sounds amazing either way

  • This is now my theme song... Hope the keys don't mind *Laughs*

  • Anyone else think this perfectly fits Red Dead Redemption?

  • @ZappaMaskReplica I've never played that game, and I haven't played video games in years, but for some reason I totally agree with you.

  • @ZappaMaskReplica Totally. Someone should make a Red Dead music video with this song.

  • @ZappaMaskReplica i dont think so at all. due to simple facts i think ur relating to the song where good ol john marston hits mexico for the first time and u hear gonzelas (sorry for my spelling it rather early) the black keys dont seem rustic enough to be in a old west styled \scene. howln for you might be the closest thing to their music ive heard that might be in that catagory. but i like ur thinking..... i agreea with greenriver 100%

  • @ZappaMaskReplica i couldn't agess less. black ketys arn't rustic enough to go old west style. though their song howln for you might be as close as gets when it comes to rustic. i think u are refeering to gonzalas (excuse the spelling rather early.) when john marston hits up mexico for the first time. good song as well. but i like your thinking. i agree 100% with @greenriver tho

  • @ZappaMaskReplica 54 people play too many video games. this is my first "54 people" joke. so, just playin.... but this song is great.

  • i kinda imagined this to be more of a song that you'd hear when you were kickin some guys ass when he "put his hands on your girl"

  • Comment removed

  • Damn, this album, and @greenriver74's description puts a quiver in my lip as it plucks at my soul reminding me of my mortality. I dont know why, that's not even what this song is about, but the riff and that those whiny licks just ease me into a state I can't get into any other way.

  • Junior Kimbrough Rocks!

  • @crayhead That would be Billy Cobham.

  • i wish there were more bands like the black keys

  • This, and the whole of the Chulahoma album, actually, is like a drug. Makes you feel good, and you don't want that good feeling to go away, so you keep listening and listening...

Every time I listen to it, I find something new to completely blow my mind. I'm not a drummer, but sometimes I listen to this one JUST for the drums. The drums at 2:00...oh my goodness. From the outside this will be a blues jam to you and me, but on the inside it's a proper masterpiece.

    Go and get Chulahoma. Now.

  • @JustMe8485 LOVE everything you said. : )

  • @JustMe8485 Not to knock on Patrick or anything but if you really want to have your mind blown regarding drums listen to Vital Transformation by Mahavishnu Orchestra.

  • nice

  • Quit comparing, just enjoy.

  • Oh, and I am pretty sure, Dan, Pat, Brendan and Alison would all agree.

  • Love em both, White Stripes/Raconteurs/Dead Weather AND The Keys...it doesn't have to be either/or

  • these dudes dont have anything on the white stripes theyre really good but jacks the man, maybe its cos the stripes are no more people are sayn tbk are better but when the stripes rock it they fukin rock it,still tbk are really catchy only jus startin to listen to them recently, theyre cool but not as cool as tws no chance, plus tws are amazing live under blackpool lights is awesome :-)

  • Great video, keep it up. Brandon Jarod new music release coming soon!

  • white stripes are just as good as the black keys. jack white is a fuckin champ. these are too quality ass bands that shouldnt be being compared, but a couple people get that.

  • this song is from Junior Wells, The Black Keys did an awesome cover of it. Love those guys.

  • the black keys in music beat the shit out of it to the white stripes but i think the white stripes have better lyrics than the black keys

  • @ wannabeteboomethheadmarshall:

Suck HUGE Black DICK, u fuck'n meth head...n' KISS Our SHINY Black Ass while ur @ it, punk.

    Dat iz all. = )

    --The Black Whole...IZ Ev'rywhere!

  • The Black Keys are one of the few bands that i bother capitalizing correctly. unlike the white stripes.

  • @lastinline99 Amen, brother. Don't get me wrong, the white stripes are fine music... for any fine, upstanding elevator.

But the Keys have music from the crotch: the first time I heard them (I'm embarrassed to say) was from the Hung track. At first I thought it was some John Lee Hooker track I'd magically missed all these years, turns out it was two skinny white boys from Ohio, of all places.

And these guys are every bit as good as the great blues players of old. They do you white folk proud.

  • this is a sickkkkkkkkkkkkkk track

    i needa buy this cd

  • It's the strong blues influence complete addiction, not just the two piece band.

  • the reason they say white stripes are similar to the black keys is be cause its two man band and the both play rock in the same fasion, but the black keys play more of a blues rusty rock and the stripes play ordinary rock, just with a little distortion

  • Clearly you dont listen to older White Stripe albums. I love the Black Keys and I love the White Stripes and it seems the people who hate on the White Stripes are the people who don't have the discography and just base opinions on the songs they have heard. White Stripes are a garage blues band with completely different sounds on every album.

  • just coz theres 2 members in this band jus lik the white stripes, doesnt mean thr similar sounding, there completely different. pull your fingers out of your ears and asses and realise this band is uncompairable to the white stripes

  • @theInimitablePip ur a fucking loser

  • @theInimitablePip Speak ENGLISH you fucking retard.

  • love the album colour.

  • The best part of this album is right at the end, when the wife leaves our Keys a message; "you boys were the only ones to really play like him". God bless you Junior, you gave us The Black Keys.

  • Title makes me think of the Darkness, Get your hands off my woman. Don't hate my opinions, just dislike them.

Anyways great band. I'm shocked they are from so close to home and shocked the vocalist isn't a black guy. Some White Stripes is good, but I think nearly all The Black Keys I like. They have a "cowboy blues" sound.

  • the white stripes are cool but they dont sound like the black keys, especially jack white and dan, dan sounds like he sold his soul to the devil to get that voice, given how soulfull/blues'ish...jack doesnt have that voice

  • old junior kimborough cover

  • Can relate to this track!

  • Sorry folks, although I find this a great sound it seems to me that this is not new...just check a lot of the bands back in the late 60's... which, in fact, it's a compliment! Great beat, no question...

  • @gazuaman...compliment indeed. this whole album is compiled of covers of Junior Kimbroughs tracks.

  • @andilikeswhatido ...thanks a lot for the info, i didn't knew that. So I just check the guy and I had a wonderful surprise. Again, thanks! Cheers.

  • the black keys were my favorite performance at bonnaroo this year... they nailed it. you felt everything they were putting out there.

  • I agree w/ thefanofthewho.... They sound nothing like White Stripes to me, I don't get where people are getting that association from. Is it because it's a duo? Anyway, awesome band!

  • wow, I just discovered The Black Keys (Sad thing is that I am in the same city that they are from). And this song just made me like them so much even more.

  • This music (the music of Junior Kimbrough) comes, simply and magnanimously, from the air and dirt of north Mississippi. You take a couple shots of your favorite whiskey on a late August afternoon, sit on your front porch with a slide guitar and a cigarette, lean forward, and in the lull of heat and alcohol and heartache, pour out your heart. The Black Keys, better than any contemporary blues act, capture the true grit of delta blues at its core. One of the truest rock groups in a long, long time

  • @greenriver74 nicely said

  • @greenriver74 man you a poet?

  • @greenriver74 ....Mate..Dead on. I really could not describe it better myself. This is whats it is all about. Soul in a bucket.

  • @greenriver74 i want some of this dudes drugs, they sound awsome

  • @greenriver74 well said sir

  • @greenriver74 sooooo fucking eloquent greenriver74, you clearly understand what the blues is all about, i'm taking a shot a lighting up a smoke in your honour. I'm from Hamilton Ontario, and although it's colder up here, we love your southern hospitality, and your music.

  • @greenriver74 replace "cigarette" with "finely rolled joint of marijuana" and you've hit the nail on the head.

  • @BigCM06 No, the blues aren't about getting high. He got it right.

  • @zacRip shows what you know about the blues.....

  • @BigCM06 It shows what I know about good blues.

  • @zacRip you're incredibly naive if you believe that "good blues" was made without the influence of pot.

  • I don't understand the purpose of comparing them to the white stripes. They are two good bands, and each have their own great songs. Lets leave it at that!

  • it's realy not fair to other bands that the black keys kick this much ass!

  • @otishaywater haha those bands do it to themselves .

  • Are we here to start comparing bands and take a friggin poll or are we on this page to dig the tunes and appreciate the group?

  • I don't think we need to compare the Black Keys to the White Stripes- they do have similarities- both have only two members, guitar and drums, and have their roots in rock and blues- but they are, I think, different styles at heart.

  • wow just discovered this band and love em

  • These guys have some passion and soul in their grooves

  • for some odd reason this song reminds me of incubus...black keys are the best

  • @w8salyr I found a partial tab on ultimate guitar

  • SOMEONE TAB THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE. or does anyone know for sure where I can get the tabs. there not on ultimateguitar

  • @w8slayr to you and all the guys asking for tabs all the time, not to be rude or anything, there is nothing wrong with tabs. They are great. But if you put the effort you make to look up and request tabs and put that into improving your ear instead, I promise you: Soon you won't need them. Peace and good luck.

  • Like BK try: Left Lane Cruiser, DeepSeaGreen, The Fumes, Buffalo Killers, Heartless Bastards, Greenhornes, killer old time rock tunes right there.

  • one of my favorite songs on the album, new keys album in my, i believe its called brothers. and if u like the keys check out the dead weather (jack whites new band)

  • this is dope!

  • this is smooooth!!

  • this is a great EP

  • i just listened to this yesterday, thanks for uploading this

  • this album is tributed to Junior Kimbrough so there is a particular kind of blues feel to it. love it to the core.

  • how many songs are on this album?

  • there are 6

  • These guys are so frickin awesome! As far as the White Stripes comparison it seems like some folks always need to draw comparisons. Not such a bad thing to be compared to the stripes though.

  • @logicismycopilot1

Except the only thing similar is the fact that they are two piece bands, and they use voice filters.

  • what exactly is a voice filter? thanks.

  • @jlaudio184 and they're getting their songs from blues legends. white stripes --> son house, black keys --> junior kimbrough...what separates these two bands from others, i think, is that they are fucking good at it :)

  • @fonsy85 by the way, there are also some from r.l. and muddy i believe...

  • I love the Black Keys, but I could never get into the White Stripes. Aside from the one drummer, one singer/guitarist thing, I really don't see how they're alike.

  • god i love this band

  • Amen!

  • god me too!! we are very lucky..

  • Luckily, my son gave me Magic Potion as a gift for my 56th birthday. Can't get enough of 'em ever since. These guys are great.

  • Happy birthday ;-)

  • just got to be is fantastic

  • @indiana1fats

Awesome to know you're an older person. Their music is already sensual and sexy to me, knowing this fact of yours, makes it ten times sexier and sensual-er! :P

  • Rockin'...

  • this has such great soul behind it, i think..

  • speechless

  • if you like the keys check out radio moscow

  • wow, nice recommendation! thanks

  • dude i have been saying radio moscow for months now aren't they sickly disgusting?

    Yes yes they are

  • i just found out about these guys and im totally diggin it.

anyone have suggestions for similar musicians?

  • patrick sweany

  • i totally agree

  • I think it may just be the simplistic following of the blues scale that relates to the white stripes. In my opinion the black keys are fantastic, but Jack White is held in a huge regard for creativity and originality, something you don't get much these days but you can see in both the Black Keys and the White Stripes

  • @thefanofthewho LOL WHITE STRIPES what a fucking insult to the keys

  • @thefanofthewho Agreed.

  • @thefanofthewho aw cmon man. I dont think they sound a like but theyre both really good raw blues bands. Just different styles.

  • @thefanofthewho Watch "It might get loud" its a documentary about guitarists. The white stripes annoy me to but after watching that the stripes still annoy me but Jack white is my hero... a must watch for blues fans... its on netflicks if you have it.

  • @w8slayr I was having trouble using netflicks, Do you know if its available anywhere else?

  • @thefanofthewho White Stripes do have some REALLY good blues stuff,

try 300mph Torrential Outpour Blues, Catch Hell Blues, both very good. But I have to say, these guys can be compared to the best of blues, John Lee Hooker, BBking.

    Gotta Love the Black keys.

  • @thefanofthewho ya especially that white stripes drummer. same sounding beat every fucking time

  • @thefanofthewho Sounds nothing like the white strips, people probably just say that because they are a two person band as well. However, the white strips are pretty good in my book.

  • @thefanofthewho The White Stripes definitely lack the blues quality of the Black Keys, but in more upbeat songs like Tighten Up you can hear some similarities.

  • Listen to songs like I Fought Piranhas, death letter, sister do you know my name, a boys best friend. your telling me these songs lack blues quality? they just add to the evolution of blues and thats what people dont understand about the white stripes. rather then comparing there music to the way blues used to be played why not look at is a band trying to push the elements of music like indie bands should

  • @thefanofthewho indeed. I like the white stripes but they are very different bands. I understand why you wouldn'
