@guyd37 you're 45 and on youtube...shouldn't your old ass be off taking care of a kid or something? There is nothing wrong with a v6. I have an 07. Give me for insurence and ill gladly get a gt. You're an idiot. Not everyone has money flowing out of their ass like apparently you think they do
Yeah maybe but this motor is more of a torque twister...and it really depends on where that power is delivered...the 197 HP version you refer to is only in the SI Trim levels...and it makes its power, 197 horsepower at 7800 rpm and 139 lb-ft of torque at 6100 rpm...this 4.0 makes that power sooner, stronger, and at a much more solid base line.
210 HP @5300 RPM and 240 ft lbs of torque @ 3500 RPM.
Apples to oranges my friend. Thats what you're trying to compare.
sweet sound man, got the same car and I'm tryin to decided what exhaust to put in it. And 212trooper is right V6 not only better on gas but gives you the sleeper affect when you drive around
dont mean to be a dick but i have the Cologne Mustang and i have around 16mpg...then again ive gone shit crazy on the engine and make close to 400rwhp...either way....the v6 holds very very well forhaving 6 cylinders, Cologne all ze wai!
lmao in the description it says they are almost broken in when are you people gonna realize that exhaust systems of anykind do not break in there are no moving parts or anything like that there is nothing to break in
Really? Google it genius. The sound will change over the first few hundred miles as the metal expands and contracts do to the heating and cooling of the system.
A teacher of mine one told a class mate "Better to Look dumb then open ones mouth and remove all doubt"
yes the metal will expand and contract but that will do nothing to change the sound ive had flowmasters on my car for over a year now and guess what they sound just the same as they did when they were brand new oh and im sorry you believe everything you google on the internet you dont actually believe everything you read do you
I have had several differant Mufflers on my car and my pickup.
Flowmaster
Coffin muffler (very ricy sounding on a v6)
magnaflow
all changed over the course of a few months. Especially the coffin muffler that really had a high pitch raspy sound to it. It did mellow out a little. but in the end It was still to ricy coffee can sounding for me. They sound killer on a V8 really loud and nice a rumble to them.... Of course that after they break in =-)
ok what ever you wanna believe but just remember people like me who have worked in exhaust shops a long time will still laugh and make fun of people like you who think exhaust systems have to break in
hi man sweet stang, i have a question hope u can help me, did u notice a difference with a true dual exhaust? i mean if u notice a decrease or increasement on performance. cuz i want to put this in mi sxibanger but i don't want to kill my pony :S:S:S thanks. :)
i have a k&n typhoon series intake on mine with true duals h pipe and magnaflow resonators (no mufflers). i dyno'd at 196.6 hp. at least a 11 hp gain with no tune. you kinda notice the difference. but the tune is whats going to make the most difference. especially with a better intake than k&n. hope that helped!
@guyd37 dude your an asshole why do you always say "v6 mustangs suck" "couldve had a v8" and shit like that i think its because you need to increase the size of your epenis in order to make up for what you lack in your real penis (thats the thing your boyfriends call the chode)
@BoboboBoBoBoboSucks I'll tell you why! Because I had many Mustangs over the years, from 4 cyl, 6, v8 5.0 and 4.6. Anything else than a v8 is slow and useless. Furthermore, only v8 with a standard transmission are worth it.
@wolf1010 I am 44, B/D is in 3 weeks. Insurance? I just bought a 2010 Ford Fanger FX-4 2 hours ago. $400 more per year than the Mustang. Actually, the Cobalt I traded in was more expensive to insure than the Mustang. Gas? I do 29 mpg on the highway with the Mustang. Bet you don't do it with your v6. 2011 v6 has 40 more hp than my Mustang. But, mine has every bolt on but supercharger. Its very fast. You shoulod stop wasting money on a v6.
@wolf1010 75mm Plenium, TB, Mass, CAI, 3.75 gear ratio, pro shifter 5.0, x-pipe, no cath, steeda pulleys, dynomax, tuned. 5.5 0-60. Not a new 2011 GT but it does move. True that at your age, and depending on your income, insurance and a few more mpg is welcome. Been there so fair enough. But just my advise, don't invest in it. I bought mine modded and the previous owner lost a lot. I would post a videio, but only from the track. I burned my clutch so I orderd a DF centerforce. I will post..
@guyd37 not really, i own both a v6 and a bullitt, i agree they arent ideal for modifications, but small stuff are alright and theyre great daily drivers, however the new v6 isnt a joke anymore, faster than the 05-09 GTs actually
@guyd37 Considering a Procharged V6 pushes right around 400Hp, I don't see how its a "poser"... But from looking at your other comments and saying "All V6's are slow and useless" Its very clear you are just a fool.
@guyd37 for the price you put into a v8, you couldve put the price difference into a v6 and gotten more hp out of it, not to mention better gas mileage and insurance.
@ogpauly I had many Mustang, from 2.3l, v6, 5.0 and now a 4.6. Insurance is the same no matter the engine. I actually pay 300 less for the Mustang that my Ford Ranger. Fuel economy, I do 31mpg on highway witht he modded Mustang. I did 35 with a Cobalt. If you mod a v6, you'll guzzle fuel, just like anything else. In the end, a v6 is a v6 and has no resale value. Drive both a v6 and a v8 Mustang and you'll see what I mean...... I know, I did.

very nice. but the only thing i find with flowmasters is the fact they sound like to much of a "tin" sound. borlas i find sound a little smoother. but still nice tho dude
ya this is definately the nicest sounding v6 mustangs ive heard-it pretty much has the appeal of the v8, at a fraction of the cost! what exhaust did u use, like what design of flowmaster?
this is the problem with the world today, sit on your ass, go on google search for the part you are looking for and go to an aftermarket supplier site and see how much it is
yeah lets all get flowmasters and rebuy in a year when they rust out =P...they both suck on the new v6 stang especially flowmaster. way too raspy and crappy. Your better off with either Borla, Corsa, or Bassani.
@bloozelover so youre telling me a flowmaster with a chamber design will flow better than a straight through muffler? thats a big never...back pressure is made by restriction which a chambered design uses to muffle the sound. you learn something every day =)
you are correct that chambered mufflers use baffles. but for the most part a chambered muffler is a big open can and a straight thru muffler is an extension of the exhaust pipe. pretty much kinda like a tube. now wich design will take more exhaust gas to build back pressure in? the large open can with lots of empty space inside? or the tube that is the same size or a lil bigger than your exhaust pipe ? now you tell me how a straight thru design flows better
you dont understand how exhaust flow works... when you have a big open can or area exhaust gasses will fill that up right? but the exhaust will be moving slowly and freely since its moving into such a large area. thats why its unwise to gut your catylitic converters, you actually make that large area and slow down exhaust flow and lose power. you're better off removing it completely and replacing it with whatever size pipe you have. (illegal btw)
man im sorry but it just dose not work that way. what you said makes no sense at all. there is a reason that a chambered muffler is designed as a big open space it is to fool the motor if you will into thinking that it is running thru an open exhaust because when the exhaust enters the muffler it hits a large low pressure area and that mimics the same conditions an open header with a small 18 inch section of pipe would produce its all science my friend simple physics
regardless a straight through muffler DOES flow better than a chambered muffler. its just common sense. the exhaust flow just goes straight through. in and out with no restrictions.
I am with Bloozelover on this. The Design of Chamber mufflers are engined to create a scavenger effect and will cause the muffle to sucks the exhaust from the engine.
they dont create a scavenging effect...flowmasters are designed to muffle the sound mostly by noise cancellation and at the same time creating low pressure areas. not scavenging. scavenging happens way up at the headers where the expansion waves are created
why would u put exhaust on a v-6 mustang. thats like putting a cold air intake on a honda civic.....pointless!!! its a v-6 it doesnt deserve dual exhaust.
actually if your saying flowmaster hasn't made a system at all for the V6 mustang, they have but its only a single AT and one can easily convert to the GT system.
sounds nice man. longtube headers next?
