An average game against AI in a medium sized map takes at least 8 hours to finish if you don't rush, so yes it isn't exactly a coffee break game.

But what a game it is! So satisfying and rewarding to watch your fleet duke it out with another armada.

Yesterday I engaged in an epic fight consisting of 25+ capital ships about 200 frigates and cruisers that lasted a good 15 minutes.

If I was any wiser I would have recorded it.

start a match on the easiest difficulty to start with to sort out your tactics. The AI on this difficulty is a pushover. Also it might be worth starting on a fairly small system of about 10 planets for you to get used to the game

I think my tactical edge is distraction. I send a big force to one area to fight the computer, while I concentrate on the true center of battle, like the planet.

Homeworld 2 and Sins are TWO DIFFERENT GAMES! Homeworld 2 plays fast, and more tactical. Sins, takes hours, even in small games, and every move is very important. I love Homeworld 2, but Sins is much more involving.

@Howboutthinking I would not say better, it depends what you are looking for. If you want huge scale, sins is your game. If you want tactical, stick with homeworld. To me, sins plays very slow compared to homeworld, I prefer the latter. Not saying it is better, it depends what you are looking for...

I'm seeing this and as awesome as the graphics look and as cool as it also looks... it's just not my type of game. It sucks too cuz I really was hoping it was similar to Freelancer... Yes, Freelancer is my ultimate favorite space game (especially with the nightmare difficulty mod and harder missions mod). Anyway, I hope someday they make a new Freelancer game, so far I've seen none comparable to it.
