  • Nice work with the visuals. I didn't think the echo on the voiceover fit well.

  • @starsiegeplayer Glad you liked it, even though it's completely outdated now. I used the echo to try and cover the flatness of my voice due to nasal congestion from a cold I had when I recorded it. Wasn't entirely happy with the result either, but it was better than the actual, unfiltered recording. Thanks for writing!

  • nice...

  • @SolxiMusic Thanks!

  • loser....i mean really loser

  • Yep! No doubt about it! I must be a loser...because nobody can spot a loser better than another one, and apparently you can see me just fine! Thanks for writing!

  • nice! i like the voice overs! and using 3ds max too no less! very nice work you got here mate, well done.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it, despite the fact that this it's now completely outdated. And thanks for the kind words about my voiceover. I appreciate it.

  • Just a question for everyone out there, have any of you guys ever kissed a girl before, or is that hard to do from your parents basement?

  • The only thing sadder than a Trek fan who may not yet have kissed a girl is someone trolling YouTube perpetuating this old and outdated stereotype. You should be much more concerned about your own love life (or lack therof) than someone else's.

  • Do you find wearing your Starfleet rank insignia when you go out on Saturday night helps you score with the ladies?

But wait, is it possible to pick up a lady when you to be home by 9'oclock?

  • Funny, for someone who supposedly despises Trek, you sure know a good bit about it.

In any case, it doesn't matter. Say good-bye to the a-hole, everyone! One...Two...Three...BLOCKED!

  • @robertkurt2 what kind a stupid reply is this

  • @sanderrodijk Thanks for the back-up, but I blocked him from making any more comments. I'm open to any kind of discussion, debate or critique, but he was just another idiot looking to stir up trouble. I don't tolerate such insipid behavior so I kicked him to the curb. I hope you liked the video, and thanks for writing.

  • oh i thought this was star wars... SIGH ew

  • Well, that's what happens when one doesn't bother to read. Sorry you were so disappointed.

  • worst voice over ever! I wish Don LaFontaine was still around RIP

  • Thanks for the news flash Mr. "I'm-late-to-the-party."

If I could have afforded Mr. LaFontaine I would certainly have hired him. When you don't have a budget, you work with what you got.

  • I like more normal voices for the trailers anyways , cool video!

  • Thank you for your support. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for writing!

  • NEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRDD!

  • Yep. Absolutely. Thanks for reminding me.

  • Love the video. Cant wait to see this movie!!!!!!!! Ill be going to the theaters soo fast ill break the warp 10 barrier

  • I'm looking forward to it, too. Be careful about that warp 10 barrier, though. Remember what happened to Tom paris and Captain Janeway when they tried it. :-)

  • how do u make a fan made trailer!!! someone help me

  • There are lots of different ways to make a fan trailer. I made this one using a CGI program called 3D Studio MAX. The main ingredients for any fan project are time, equipment, and inspiration. Good luck with your projects and thanks for writing!

  • Hey, where's the new voice track?

    (All that work for nothing)

    ;)

  • SpockBoy,

Oh, man...I got caught up with some other projects and completely forgot to post the version with your voiceover. Me am purty stoopid. Sorry about that, my friend. I'll post it next week, I promise!

  • Well done and with taste... Though too much echo in audio :) Coming from a true trekkie this gives five stars.

  • Thanks, holodock! I really appreciate it.

  • Nice!

  • Thanks!

  • We will all be boldly going to the theaters this December! Trek Lives Once Again...

  • Actually, Paramount just pushed the release of the film back to May 2009. So, while we might be boldly going to the theaters this December, we won't be seeing Star Trek. Sorry to break the bad news. Live Long and Prosper.

  • I share the cockchoas opinion.

    Good edition!

    Regards from Mexico City

  • Thank you, sir! Your regards are much appreciated! Thanks for writing!

  • good effort mate

  • Thank you, sir! I appreciate it.

  • Hey buckaroohawk,

I actually do professional voice acting.

If you send me the script I'll happily do it for you.

  • You got yourself a deal, SpockBoy! You're a life (or rather a voice) saver! I'll be in touch.

  • This sounds like a freakin' amusement park announcer. Terrible.

  • As I've mentioned (numerous times) above, I did the voiceover myself because I don't have any connections to more professional speakers. If anyone who might do better would care to step up, I'll happily replace my voiceover with theirs. All anyone has to do is send me an e-mail here and we'll talk about it. Otherwise, this dead horse has been beaten enough.

  • This trailer is far from terrible... Great job on this trailer mate!

  • Thank you very much! I appreciate it and I'm glad you took the time to leave a comment.

  • friggin' awesome!

  • Thanks! I appreciate it!

  • Very good!!! Are those your own animations? My only problem is the voice over. It needs maybe a deeper, more "movie guy" voice w/out the "microphone in the auditorium" sound. Besides that, it's good stuff!

  • Thank you! Yes, the animations are all mine. I know the voiceover is a bit weak, but I had to do it myself since I don't have access to professional voiceover artists. If anyone knows someone who'd like to re-record it, I'd be glad to edit and re-post it here.

  • Why do they all have to do this prologue shit before every 'fan' made trailer?

For god's sake we know what's happened.

  • Film previews (especially for sequels) try to do two things; get fans excited AND entice those who may be unfamilair with the franchise. Hence the broad history of Trek in the voiceover here. You may know it already, but the guy sitting next to you in the theater might not. I tried to copy that concept.

If it really annoyed you that much, I suggest taking a "chill pill." Maybe two.

  • I'm not annoyed - I would suggest that if the man next door is not into Trek then it won't make any difference anyway!!

And that my friend is th problem with trek today - too many folks looking back and not looking forward.

You've set the marker - you want it like it was 40 years ago and rather than let it evolve - too many Trek fans try to capture whatever it was in the first place and that will kill it.

  • I see your point, but I do believe that Trek can evolve and attract new fans, even as it goes back to its source for inspiration. We'll find out for sure in just about one year. I do appreciate that you took the time to respond again. Live Long and Prosper!

  • It would of been cool to hear Don LaFontaines voice over too

  • Hey, if anyone knows how to get in touch with him (and he's willing to do it for free) I'll glady replace my voiceover with his!

    Thanks for writing!

  • awesome job. however and i know you have heard this but the voise over..try it with NO voise over and fix the warp sound. its not sinked up right its off by 3 seconds or so. or deepen your voise so it sound more like don fontaine. but im light if all that awesome job. 5 stars

  • Thanks for the advice, but I doubt I'll be revisiting this particular project. It's done to my satisfaction and we'll likely be seeing a real one sometime soon anyway. I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks much for writing!

  • Hey Buckaroohawk, great teaser. By the way I didnt think the voice over was that bad at all! Its very much in keeping with the Motion Picture trailer. Plus using the James Horner music is always a plus. Great work!

  • Thanks! I appreciate the kind words I did my best, but Don LaFontaine doesn't have to worry about losing his job to me anytime soon. Thanks for taking the time to write.

  • i havent heard much of this film, other than nimoy is on board, and theres a guy cast to play a younger spock. which looks a lot like nimoy.. But is it time travel based? i dont get why have 2 diff spocks?

  • We don't really know for sure. Some speculate that the bulk of the film is told in flashback, hence Nimoy's involvement as the elder Spock and the need for someone else to play him younger. We'll find out in just over a year. Thanks for writing!

  • Who will now do Kirks voice seeing that he is no longer in it?

  • There's a new actor playing James Kirk in the film, so he'll probably get the job of re-recording the voiceover.

  • Lose the annoying voiceover.

  • Do you mean that my dulcet voice does not entice you to se this film which does not, as yet, exist? I may not be "Mr. Voiceover," but I'm the best I got. Thanks for writing, anyway.

  • Whoopsie! Did not know that was you. It's really quite charming. I think I must have had a bit of a cold and my ears were stuffy and it was distoring your sweet sweet siren song.

  • Wow! That's one heck of a turn-around. My powers of persuasion must be awesome. Actually, I'm well aware that my voiceover is the weakest part of this video, but like I said, I was the only one available to do it. Thanks for writing back. I appreciate it.

    Keep on Trekkin'!

  • Dear God, All I ask is that this movie be good. Amen

  • I'll witness that "Amen!" I think the film is in very good hands, though. Keep the faith, Tony! Thanks for writing.

  • Why did Shatner knock it back (roll in new movie)? Did Nimoy take it up, (roll in new movie)?

  • I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but there are a lot of websites out there with info about the new movie. Try a search and see what you find.

  • very good trailer that,

  • Thanks, Dilfax! Glad you liked it!

  • I've heard the new movie will only called be called STAR TREK I think thats wise. I hope it;s a good film I am so excited about it.

  • I'm looking forward to it as well. Thanks for taking the time to write.

  • good

  • Thanks!

  • Very cool. But the phrase 'The Human Adventure Begins Again' comes from Star Trek (Reborn). I've been following that site since 2005. ;)

  • I wasn't aware of the Star Trek (Reborn) site. I just wanted to link the new movie to the first TOS film series. I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for writing.

  • I liked it - but in your voice over, I found the "echo" to be distracting. How does a "flatter" voice over sound?

  • Like I'm speaking through my nose. I tried a version where I imitated Don LaFontaine's "Movie Man" voice, but that sounded like a parody. I added the echo to cover my allergies. Guess it didn't work. I'm glad you liked the video, though. Thanks for writing!

  • Very cool stuff you posted here!!! Hope the Teaser from Paramount will be as good as yours :)

  • I have a feeling that we'll all be pleasantly surprised by what we see and hear from Paramount on this project. I'm glad you liked the teaser. Thanks for writing!

  • Yes, I agree very nice animations you have created. However I think you need a deeper more dramatic voice :p

  • I can't argue with that. Maybe if Star Trek were a lighthearted comedy...hmmm. Thanks for writing!

  • i didnt mean it bad!

  • No need to apologize or anything, sanderrodijk. Believe me, I know I'm no professional when it comes to voiceovers. I took no offense at all. Thanks for writing again.

  • great movie i only think a other voice wil be better

  • I agree, but I'm the only one I could find to get it done. We gotts work with what we got. Thanks for writing!

  • Well, I have to say, great CGI. The voice dialog reminds me of the Star Trek the Motion picture trailor. :)

  • My voice reminds you of Orson Welles?! Wow, that's very flattering! Wait...you said "the dialog," not "your voice." Drat! I'm glad you liked the video, doctor. Thanks for writing!

  • Excellent, simply excellent. Is that you doing the VO as well?

  • Yes it is. I'm not the best voice actor around, but I do work cheap. Thanks for writing, Jack. I'm glad you liked it.

  • I Love the title graphics! Glad to see you posting original content again! Very nice Indeed!

  • Thank you sir! Hopefully I'll be posting more soon. Thanks for writing, buddy!
