THIS IS COOL!!! Did all the things i can do with this one: FAV, SUB, Thumbs UP, and 5 STARS!! Thanks for the comment to my song so I could find this treasure!! t:)
They all said it already and I can only join in the praise now, having discovered it so late! It's a true gem! Kind folks like PJ Harvey, Nick Cave and...even Gershwin come to my mind, why is that... Classy master piece, and I think I'm going to practise hard to play and sing it :o) Thanks for sharing this, Bruce!
Thanks! When I was young, I rarely listened to lyrics. It was always the music that captured my. I can't count the number of times I've found that songs that I hummed along to or danced to turned out to be about things less than celebratory in nature. lol
Laughter, I definitely know that one! My favourite song since the age of 7 has been "Bitch" by Meredith Brooks. Some time when I was about 13, I looked at the lyrics and was shocked. There are others as well, of course, but I always remember that best since it's my favourite. Many of the folk songs I listened to growing up.
Ha. You're going to have to tell me on this one. I'm still working out my alibi.
(Truth is, I tried in this one to let the sound of the words be as much a factor as possible in my choosing them. The clarity of the story line suffered, but it was a fun exercise. Call it a ukulele player's lonely impulse of delight.)
Well, that's a relief. I thought I might be illiterate. But this is a great song, and it's because you followed your impulses that it is. Another success for Baird the Bard.
I have always found the G# a naughty little provocative chord. With a wink of her eye, before you know it she will slide up right alongside you G and if you are not careful she will leave you for a C and after that well it is just Boo Hoo all the way to the poorhouse and a diet of pea soup for eternity.
there's no limit to your creativity it seems! Love this one...very unique lyric and I love that boppy blusie feel...nice images too...great job Bruce!
brilliant love it bruce.

Just perfect.

Thanks, Grumpy. I actually looked to see if I could catch a (Charon) boat out of Jackson. No luck, as it was a rail hub, so rail it had to be.

Excellent! When I played the chords, the B52's started in on a little Rock lobster in my head.

Thanks. I just watched "Lobster," and can see the connection. The circular intro does it, I think.
