  • It is a ....haunting kind of song.

  • Bruce, I love it! This is a very interesting song...great job! ~

  • THIS IS COOL!!! Did all the things i can do with this one: FAV, SUB, Thumbs UP, and 5 STARS!! Thanks for the comment to my song so I could find this treasure!! t:)

  • awesome!! I love it!!

  • real cool!!!

  • Fantastic!Straight to my favourites,thank you Bruce!

  • Thanks, Gwendal. Comments like that make me think I'm on the right track.

  • They all said it already and I can only join in the praise now, having discovered it so late! It's a true gem! Kind folks like PJ Harvey, Nick Cave and...even Gershwin come to my mind, why is that... Classy master piece, and I think I'm going to practise hard to play and sing it :o) Thanks for sharing this, Bruce!

  • Thanks, Nic. The idea of someone so many thousands of miles away playing the song makes my day. That is the coolest!

  • Wow, I love this, so faved! :-) X

  • Thanks, Ruth! You're a champ.

  • I'm definitely impressed. I endeavor to your abilities. ;)

  • Another little beauty Bruce!

It's been great fun to be an observer as you sail the seas of musical discovery. (and you haven't floundered yet!)

  • Thanks Derek. Learning to play really has been the finest of adventures.

  • I played it twice - great

  • I couldn't ask for a finer compliment. Thanks so much.

  • I love the boo hoo parts very catchy, also clever video.

  • Who knew crying could be so fun?

  • Pretty dark song, but great job, and I liked the video editing!

  • Thanks, John. When the music is dark, I just follow. Next one up, though, is gonna be a comparative love fest.

  • Loved it - that swung fun time!

  • Thanks, Shawn! Really glad you liked it.

  • Wow. Maybe your best yet. Your writing just keeps on blossoming.

  • Thanks, Shane, for that great comment.

  • is this the blue-hoos?

  • Now that I've come down with a cold, I think we should call it the blue-hoo-choos. (Gesundheit!)

  • hah excellent song Bruce. I'll be singing "Boo Hoo" all day tomorrow!

  • Thanks, Brad. Wish I were there to overhear it, poor guy. :)

  • Awesome Bruce! What a great chords pattern, and brilliant playing too. Gave it a really funky sound. I love the video too.

  • Thanks, Michelle. I've always wanted to be called funky. Woohoo!

  • I had to watch this twice to get more out of it--great song, great video!

  • Thanks, Maus. You're very kind.

  • Catchy song for one of the subject! Great work.

  • Thanks! When I was young, I rarely listened to lyrics. It was always the music that captured my. I can't count the number of times I've found that songs that I hummed along to or danced to turned out to be about things less than celebratory in nature. lol

  • Laughter, I definitely know that one! My favourite song since the age of 7 has been "Bitch" by Meredith Brooks. Some time when I was about 13, I looked at the lyrics and was shocked. There are others as well, of course, but I always remember that best since it's my favourite. Many of the folk songs I listened to growing up.

  • this is most excellente

    woo hooo

  • Most kind of you, krabbers.

  • Great tune

  • Thanks, Mike.

  • this is really cool Bruce! great strum on this one.

  • I thought it time to pretend I have a second strum.

  • very good song!

    cool haunting mood!

  • Thanks very much!

  • You are the real deal my friend. This is my favorite of yours so far I think.

"Porter Charon wants his dime, boo, hoo"

    Just perfect.

  • Thanks, Grumpy. I actually looked to see if I could catch a (Charon) boat out of Jackson. No luck, as it was a rail hub, so rail it had to be.

  • Cool, daddio! I hear a stand up bass and snare with brushes on this one...

  • Thanks. That's what I was thinking. It was like a cool bass line gone wild.

  • Excellent! When I played the chords, the B52's started in on a little Rock lobster in my head.

  • Thanks. I just watched "Lobster," and can see the connection. The circular intro does it, I think.

  • I like the vibe Bruce. Awesome!

  • Thanks, Tom. I really like the way this one circles.

  • Works for me. Awesome song, Bruce! i like that progression!

  • Thanks, Uki. My idea of what works in a given key just expanded greatly.

  • Virgil, Charon, Styx...this one's making me think. It's a great sounding song. Now if I could just figure it out.

  • The Aeneid?

  • Ha. You're going to have to tell me on this one. I'm still working out my alibi.

(Truth is, I tried in this one to let the sound of the words be as much a factor as possible in my choosing them. The clarity of the story line suffered, but it was a fun exercise. Call it a ukulele player's lonely impulse of delight.)

  • Well, that's a relief. I thought I might be illiterate. But this is a great song, and it's because you followed your impulses that it is. Another success for Baird the Bard.

  • Nice mood to this one, Bruce. Excellent as always.

  • Thanks much, Ken.

  • great work! love the green screen!

  • Thanks. I still can't do a green screen, but the black background I use makes overlaying a second vid at 50 percent opacity look sort of like it.

  • great song bruce, really like the rythmn playing on this one

    Ken g

  • Thanks so much, Ken. I really had to work at it on this one, as I've terrible timing.

  • Cool song! Cool vid! Cool chords!

  • Thanks. Love those chords.

  • I have always found the G# a naughty little provocative chord. With a wink of her eye, before you know it she will slide up right alongside you G and if you are not careful she will leave you for a C and after that well it is just Boo Hoo all the way to the poorhouse and a diet of pea soup for eternity.

  • "Pea soup for eternity." Dante-schoen!

  • Excellent song Bruce, great chord progression- nice statue- looks familar ...

  • Thanks, Caroline. I wonder if you saw it in Hitchcock's "North By Northwest."

  • Great song, Bruce!

  • Thanks, Ralf. And thanks again for your help with the theory bits.

  • Cool Chords, Great Sound, Fantastic Video too

  • Thanks. The chords were delicious.

  • there's no limit to your creativity it seems! Love this one...very unique lyric and I love that boppy blusie feel...nice images too...great job Bruce!

  • Thanks, David. "Boppy blusie" totally works for me.
