The 'wooden dolly' had mice carved into her(not sure why?) there was one in the sleeve, one on her foot ... don't know where the others were but there was more. I remember this from seeing the wooden dolly as a child in Shields square next to the library.
I do not know if this is relevant but in the church in Lanchester some of the chairs had mice carved into them. The carpenter used to do as his 'signature'. Maybe it was the same person - although I think the dollies were much later.....
