  • do you have to be connected to wifi to use The GPS System

  • @MegaFcuklove As long as you have maps on your device, no need to be connected to the internet.

  • @N65OOS

  • anyone tell me if i need wifi for this?

  • @Syberpro You don't need WiFi, just the iGPS360 GPS receiver.

  • Make tutorial how to get this. Works in Finland too?

  • @Manzikkakeitto This works worldwide. Just get the iGPS360 module from Orange Gadgets and install xGPS through Cydia.

  • @Manzikkakeitto

after xGPS, just install any GPS navigation software..

I tried TomTom, Navi, Papago in Canada, England, Taiwan, HongKong and China..All works smooth. This small gadgets already replaced my mid-end Tomtom unit..love it!

  • Do you need anything else to use this on the iphone ?

  • how does this work on ipod touch without Wifi ?

  • @Otaybay The maps are downloaded to the iPod in advance.

  • @pmgriphone How does it find your location though?

  • @Otaybay You need the iGPS360 from Orange Gadgets which is the GPS receiver that gives your position.

  • @Otaybay It uses the iGPS360 from Orange Gadgets which is the GPS receiver and gives your position.

  • hi can you help mee how to configure the XGPS ,because a have the same thing that you have . but when im outside . the map doesn.t show

    pleases i need you help

or make a video how to configure XGP

    i have iGPS360

    ok bye take care

  • @theaddisonplaceone Go to the xGPS website and read the documentation there. You will need to upload maps to your device first before you can use it offline.

  • ...and thats how i screwed up my iphone headphone jack, an adapter plugged to the cassete player

  • hola

m interesa como se llama las partes que tiene el ipod touch

la que se conecta al estereo y el otro que tiene ?´como se llama XD

  • @konozuna It's just as simple tape deck cassette adapter with a plug that plugs into the headphone jack.

  • works this on the tomtom app??

  • @liamhil Yes it does. You just need to install GPSSerial through Cydia.

  • tom tom is way better

  • Does it work with the TomTom, Navigon, Magellan apps, and etc?

  • @pousow1 Yes, it does. You will need to install GPSSerial for that on a jailbroken device.

  • how much is it?? and where is the cheapest place toget one?

  • @mawadg You can get one from Orange Gadgets. Just Google for "iGPS360 Orange Gadgets". It's $75

  • whats that white thing plugged in to your headphone jack?

  • @AznR00t : That is the tape deck adapter plug.

  • in my application there are just squares and

    no routes.

  • You need to download maps to your device first (you can use xGPS Maps Manager) Or make sure you have WiFi on to grab maptiles.

  • Do the "find a place' or "driving directions" features work in offline mode, without a gps module and no internet either. I have downloaded the map on the ipod touch 3g, could see and move around the map, but not find places in the map wihile i am in a complete "offline mode"

  • To use these features, you have to be online. Then you can store the directions on your iPod and then later use them offline. You just can't recalculate directions with xGPS when you are offline, but you can used stored directions. If you wish to use offline routing, you will need to use an AppStore app like TomTom or Navigon instead.

  • tf===wtf i foound on cydia but no download link on it???

  • It's on Cydia. Just search for xGPS and install it. It will install directly to your iPod/iPhone.

  • ok so i downloaded it but it doesnt really work well i guess because its on an ipod touch. i can only get direction with an internet connection. also it doesnt tell you the directions when you are driving it just shows you a map.

  • That's correct for xGPS. But you can save the directions for use on the road. If you want to be able to calculate directions on the road, you will need to install an AppStore app like Navigon or TomTom together with GPSSerial.

  • Hello! What is the name of this app? Is it xGPS? I can't find it in the Itunes store...

  • Yes, it's xGPS and you can find it on Cydia.

  • would this be plausible for a cross country road trip? im a bit worried on the map file size

  • For a cross country road trip you could get one of the appstore Navigation apps which will give you the complete country.

  • thank you for the response!

  • Comment removed

  • i have a ipod touch 3G. and i think about getting this app. will it work without wireless and stuff like that??

  • Note that you will need the iGPS360 module on your iPod in order to receive GPS satellite data. The module does not provide WiFi so you need to download the maps to your device first before you leave home or use an AppStore navigation app like TomTom or Navigon.

  • lol the voice surely sounds like stephen hawking

  • Thank you for your reply. One more question. Do you have experience if this one works with TomTom or Navigon? Thanks again :)

  • Yes, it works with TomTom and Navigon as well. Just install the latest GPSSerial in order to use AppStore apps.

  • Hi, do you know if this GPS module works by walk or on bicycle, too? Did you try it? Or is it limited by minimum moving speed. Thank you for your reply in advance.

  • Yes it works also if you are walking or biking.

  • I'm trying to buy one on ebay from someone that used it on his 2G ipod touch but wasn't sure if it would be compatible with the current 3g model.

  • Yes, the iGPS360 module works on all models as long as they are jailbroken.

  • Is there a way to use a car adapter to charge this unit and the ipod or is it limited to USB charging?

  • Yes, it can be used with an iPhone/iPod Touch compatible car charger. Just make sure it has a USB plug on it and your can use the USB cable that comes with the iGPS360 with it.

  • nice cam and nice shades scandinavian guy

  • I didnt no they still had tape decks..lmao

  • wats the app called?

  • xGPS on Cydia

  • whats the name of the gps navigation app

  • xGPS on Cydia

  • this is no longer availabe.

  • What do you mean this is no longer available?

  • Don't you need wi-fi to use the gps system?

  • That depends on the software you are using. Most major navigation apps like Navigon, TomTom, Sygic don't need WiFi. The GPS module itself doesn't need wifi; it gets its signal from satellites.

  • so you can do this with an ipod touch?????

  • Yes you can! Just get the iGPS360 from Orange Gadgets.

  • And where do you get the cables?

  • What cables? The USB? That one comes with the iGPS360 module so you can charge your iPod while using the GPS receiver.

  • ok i got a ipod touch 3g and it has 8g so if i get this it will really work? dont i need like a satilete??? oh and i just searched that up in the app store and nothing showd up

  • are you serious?? so if i am outside, like on the street, i can be on youtube, safari, AIM and all that?!?

  • No, can't do that (you need wifi for that). It only gives you GPS position.

  • What if youre using backgrounder?

  • hey can you use the iPod Touch apps like Safari, youtube and all those with this outside? With the iGPS360

  • Of course.

  • It's the iGPS360 from Orange Gadgets

  • What gps receiver are you using?

  • It's the iGPS360 from Orange Gadgets

  • is this an app we could buy from our ipod??...or when we buy that plug thingy it comes with it...??

  • The xGPS app is free through Cydia. Or you can use an AppStore app like Navigon or TomTom, Sygic, etc.

  • wow long wait

  • i dont understand how this works on ipod touch without wireless conection ccould you please explain

  • The GPS signal is received by the iGPS360 module from satellites in the sky (no internet needed for that). The maps and directions have been downloaded in advance to the iPod before I left home (so also no internet needed for that). :-)

  • why do i need an external GPS-module while the Ipod has already an internal one? oO

  • The iPod does not have an internal GPS. Only the newer iPhones do.

  • but my ipod touch 2G has oO

or i think so..i mean when im on google maps dont even have to put my start in, there stands "actual location" already...

  • It's using your WiFi network to determine your location. Turn WiFi off and you will see it won't be able to locate you.

  • LMAO i cant even understand the voice.

  • hei dude.

can i use this gps module.

    at malaysia >?

    do xgps provide malaysia maps>?

  • Yes, it works worldwide, including Malaysia. Just check if Google has maptiles available for Malaysia.

  • i have ipod touch 3g ,, bot the ipod voic is to low wen i start music ?

    is that normal ?

  • Don't know what you are asking as it seems unrelated to the GPS.

  • hi guys i'm italian..

i want to know what i've to do after i've bought it at orange gadgets site...( i mean software and etcetc)

    thanks guy for your demostration

  • You can either use the free xGPS software through Cydia (you will need to download maps and directions to your device before you leave home), or you can use an AppStore app like TomTom, Navigin, Sygic, Magellan, etc.

  • Do you mean by downloading maps and directions before I leave home, I dont have the flexibility to feed new destinations if I need to deviate/add from my trip on the road. In other words, if I buy iGPS360 will I be able to add destinations and generate the directions from places where there is no WiFi?

Lastly, what do you mean by download maps? Doesnt the factory sealed Ipod touch 2G come with maps loaded?

    Please help

    Vj

  • how do you get wifi on the road with your gps?

  • You don't get WiFi on the route. The iGPS360 is a GPS receiver and receives a GPS signal from satellites. It has nothing to do with WiFi.

  • so how do we know orange gadgets is a legit company? how do we know u r not a scam?

  • Well, you can check the whole development process on the blog iphone-gps blogspot com. Orange Gadgets has been around for over a year now. If it was not legit, we would be no longer in business. Besides, there are customer reviews on the website. Lastly, there are still honest people in this world.

  • Im planning on getting the itouch but I dont have at&t does the gps service cost money?

  • You don't need AT&T. You only need the iGPS360 GPS receiver and navigation software. No WiFi needed.

  • does this work for the ipod touch ?? plz answer this question i will subscribe

  • Yes it does. You just need the iGPS360 module from Orange Gadgets

  • no im like it doesnt wok any time u touch it

  • Try holding both buttons together for a long time and see if something happens. If not, take it back to the Apple store.

  • i need help my ipod touch 3g power and sleep button doesnt wok wat should i do i bought 2 mounths ago helpppppppppp

  • Hold both buttons for at least 6 seconds together to reset your iPod. It will reboot after that.

  • does it work with internet?? or what do you need the wifi to work it?

  • The iGPS360 module supplied the GPS signal from satellites. You don't need WiFi as you can download maps to your device before you leave home.

  • i jailbroke my ipod but how u get it

  • You will need to get the iGPS360 module from Orange Gadgets.

  • isnt this irvine?

  • What camera are you using? Looks pretty good in the reflection on iPhone =). Quality is also decent.

  • will it work on the ipod touch 3G ?

  • As long as you can jailbreak your iPod, things should work.

  • How do u go on to the internet?O.O

  • You don't. Maps are downloaded to your device before you leave home.

  • But how do i noe where i am if there is no internet?O.O cus i can see that the maps also move when u are moving.

  • That is why you need the iGPS360 module which gives you your GPS position.

  • oh okie^.^ thx!

  • how do i get this?

and does my ipod need to be jailbroken?

  • You will need a jailbroken iPod and the GPS hardware. You can get the iGPS360 module from Orange Gadgets online.

  • hello, thanks for your reply.

My ipod is jailbroken and i went to Cydia and searched for "xGPS" and i donwloaded it, and are is it suppose to work without internet connection?

    please help, thanks

  • You will need to download maps first with internet connection and you will also need the iGPS360 to pinpoint your location.

  • ok, and where do i get the iGPS360?

    Thanks

  • Do a Google search for "iGPS360 Orange Gadgets" and that will take you to the online store.

  • oh, so you have to buy that thing?

  • Yes, since your iPod does not have GPS built-in.

  • Your iPod will need to be jailbroken. You can get the GPS module from Orange Gadgets (just Google for "iGPS360 Orange Gadgets"

  • its fake you can see Steven Hawking in back seat of the car

  • heeeelp.... where can i buy it?

  • do a google search for "Orange Gadgets".

  • whats the difference between iphone 1g and 2g?

  • 1g = first generation. 2G is 2G network (but the same as first generation iPhone)

  • help, i got an error that says 'unable to get the gps position. the GPS is not currently giving any position information'

  • You will need the iGPS360 module.

  • Hey im from Mexico City, Thanks for the video man, Just that what i need to do so Mexicos city map appear and my exact location. What i do?? Please Help me

    Thanks!

  • You will need the iGPS360 hardware and install xGPS software and download Mexico's maptiles. Then you should be all set.

  • Where can I get an igps360? Would it work with a non jailbroken iPod touch 2nd Gen, with 3.0?

  • You can buy the iGPS360 from Orange Gadgets (just Google it). You need a jailbroken device so 3.0 is fine as it can be jailbroken.

  • LOL, that's in Irvine, CA.

  • iPhone 2G (first generation)

  • Does with work with Copilot live, Navigon or TomTom? or any other navigation apps on the iphone?

  • All those apps still have some bugs, but they kind of work already. The best recommend app is xGPS and Sygic which doesn't have any of the bugs that Navigon and TomTom have.

  • does this work on 3.1?

  • 3.1 can not be jailbroken yet so it doesn't work yet.

  • is that a cassette radio??

  • yes

  • in soviet russia, car drives you!

  • lol

  • do you still need to buy the gps model for the i phone or is it hust for the touch.

  • You can use the iGPS360 on any device (iPod Touch and iPhone), even if you are unhappy with the performance of the built-in GPS of the iPhone 3G/3GS.

  • can u use it with tomtom , navigon, sygic etc?
