  • Mr. Jackson, All of us out here remember you. (Calif) We love you,and wish you the best. You have touched our hearts.

  • Wow this was sad! When I saw the reporter herself losing it I lost it just see her crying over it! Human tragedies like this reminds us all how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken away from us. I hope Jackson finds some happiness in his life again.

  • I'll never forget seeing this on the News. I hope this poor guy and his kids are doing well now.

  • i was watching this report live back then and it made such a profound impact on the direction of my life. It's as powerful today as it ever was.

  • this is the only story that has stuck out in my mind from seeing it on the news, not a documentary or anything. i couldn't believe what i was hearing. i always wanted to see this again after the news died down, but apparently i had his first name wrong. i'm so glad to hear that he's ok now. thanks for posting this

  • OMG! TO this day I still remember this man on the news.

  • His wife had no concern for herself, only her children. RIP Tonette

  • I live in the Pensacola / Mobile area and when this story first aired it was so sad. Last I heard Mr. Jackson was living with some relatives in Atlanta and he and the kids were doing well. I don't know if he has (or had) any plans to return to the Gulf Coast. BTW, that reporter is Jennifer Maralee (sp?). I think she is also in Atlanta working for a station up there.

  • oh god that stil makes me cry, and the poor reporter, I think I couldn't handle listen to that either without feeling some sort of emotions

  • I meant to say below that theyhavn't had a memorial service for his wife.

  • My local radio station in NC (107.5 WKZL) got in touch with Hardy Jackson. He and his family have been living in Georgia. They still havn't had a memorial service for this man and his family. The radio station is paying for them to fly back down to do a memorial service. Mail cards to: Hardy Jackson, 7205 Little Fawn Pkwy, Palmetto, GA 30268-1806
