my friend used to live in arkansas, and she said there were tornados and warnings so often that when they had a tornado people were like " oh yea its just a tornado not a big deal" i was like " yea whatever"
You were really close to me, and got a lot closer than I did. This was one of the few photogenic tornadoes this year, and the first one I ever saw in real life.
ya gotta love it if you are a thrill seeker! just get out of the path of the vortex! or run like hell! it is some dangerous s**t but can be a lot of fun watching it!!!
I hate the moronic play-by-play on most tornado videos. I can see what's happening, I don't need some idiot(s) screaming about the awesomeness of it all. Great pictures, please, just shut up.
This tornado was filmed during a chase tour of which I was a part of. I can tell you that the "moronic play-by-play" was not intended for you, but instead for me and the other ten guests I was with. Thanks for your own moronic play-by-play...
To all of you that hate listening to the excitement of those that witnessed this or any other tornado, turn your volumn down on both your computer and your comments. There ARE some of us that can appreciate the way it makes others feel while watching Ma Nature in all her splendor. I'd be more worried if someone WASN'T getting excited.
Ma Nature created sounds to go along with the sights. They go hand-in-hand. Stupid annoying disingenuous commentary completely ruining her sights and sounds wasn't part of Ma Nature's grand plan, I don't believe. Ma Nature oughta be taking all mouthy folks who ruin tornado videos out to the woodshed. Perhaps a belt to the behind would keep the carnival barkers in line and set them straight. And if that doesn't work, I recommend a sturdy muzzle.
Ma Nature along with our "maker" has given us all the ability to speak up and be who we want to be at any given moment. If one feels the need to be boisterous during one of Ma Natures acts, so be it. Stop judging others, turn down your volumn and enjoy the VIEW. :)
My problem isn't with the "boisterous," it's with the phony sham of those being "boisterous." It's one thing to be a wide-eyed doe, it's another thing to be a really bad and really annoying loud-mouthed actor being "boisterous" for your audience. It ruins most tornado videos. It's totally self-serving, they intentionally impose themselves. The blowhards in tornado videos need to just shut the hell up.
Freedom of speech & freedom to express ones joy or opinion at any given moment is one of the greatest offerings within the US. However, I can gaurantee you that there wasn't "acting" or "phonyness" going in this video or many others that I have seen & heard over the years from various chasers. It's a PURE joy to them every time they see a tornado. Let them express their joy the way THEY see fit and those that CAN'T see it, hit the mute button.
I am sorry if you don't like the "play by play". I operate a storm chasing tour company, and indeed, I get excited when I see a tornado. I have witnessed over 400 in my 22 years of chasing and get as excited with each tornado I see as if it were the very first one. I get your drift though, and sometimes I even try to curtain the talking to allow the sounds to come through. I also teach my clients about forecasting, and storm identification and sometimes that comes through in the videos.
awesome footage! Arkansas was hit pretty hard 5/2/08 and it's always great to see new tornado videos. Can't help being mesmorized by the power these things have!

Make all the excuses you want, moronic is still moronic. The tornado more than speaks for itself.

Then why don't you get your butt and go watch them for yourself, or record some happy kid's music over the clip? No one is forcing you to watch it.
