its pretty good, tempo is slightly too fast which is where you are making ur mistakes, your trying to run before you can walk here in this instance, my advice to you is hold back when playing this and keep to the original tempo, it will allow u to play it mistake free (mostley :p)

I lol at people saying it makes it harder to play it faster.

It isn't. It makes the rhythms easier to follow, and mistakes are barely noticeable when you're playing fast.

Playing slow, one mistake will be obvious, and you have to be a lot more precise to do it slower.

Anyone can make guitar playing sound like Van Halen, really. Playing hammer-ons and pull-offs really fast on one string sounds the same. Playing this at normal speed shows real skill.

As a guitarist myself I can say its FUCKING easy to play slow, I never make mistakes while playing slow. And while playing fast you make mistakes faster, and in fact most famous metal guitarists make fast solo's not with just pull-offs or hammer-ons. like the examples above ^

Yeah, actually a lot of bass players use picks. I personally use my fingers on 95% of the stuff I play, but the good players are good with all styles. Cliff may be the best metal bassist of all time and he didn't use a pick, there you are right, but he had such a knowledge of music that made him that good, so he is in a way, an exception. It doesn't matter how you play bass; finger, pick, slap/pop, whatever. And yes you are right, nestead doesn't use a pick, Newsted does. OK, that's all.
