  • *insert vag joke *

  • I've read about this car. It's what car companies call a "designer car". Meaning it's just for show, not meant to be used in reality or sold anywhere at all. It's ENTIRE BODY is made out of elastic, stretchy silk fabric - no metal at all!

  • is this fucking gina really exist???

  • LoL

  • LOOKS LIKE I.ROBOT !

The Lights looks like the eye !

  • This is called "Flight of the Navigator" it was a movie made in the 80s, they stole this concept.

  • I got an erection watching this....

  • Is this a dream??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

  • its a car made of cloth.. apparently bmw are moving backwards.

  • @erikxzod Why do you think so?

  • @kregzdeM3 ...because its a car made of cloth.

  • It's gonna take ALOT to top this thing. what happens when you're ex wife knifes it?

  • the sexiest car on the world

  • yeah what if gets bird feces on it or dropp my cig on the hood or u pass near a bush or someone bumps into you...etc etc .. i m not impressed with that

  • damn !this car is alive.

    i want buy 1

  • the headlights are like , WOW

  • ...it's awesome...perfect...too good to be true....I need that car....I don't even care if it's got an engine as long as I can just switch the lights on....and off...and on.....and off!!!!!

  • @michitut well, considering if you drove it around the fabric would tear, that isn't unreasonable

  • @hinaruto43ver I don't know... With the right materials, this could work. We have been working with strong materials like carbon nanotubes. A cloth made of nanotubes could probably withstand tearing during driving. This design could be plausible in the near future. Would be cool to see one of these things driving down the road.

  • it'd be interesting to know how much a section of the material costs compared to a metal body panel.

also, im sure the fabric isnt like cotton, im sure water beads off of it, and its probably pretty tough

  • Unbelievably impractical, but fucking awesome.

Maybe in the Future we can drive something like that.

  • impractical? i dont see how. metal body panels seem impractical...

  • Well think about it, the body is made out of FABRIC.

Fabric who's aesthetic depends on it being /completely/ taut against the car. What happens when it gets a single tear in it from a rock flung by a semi truck?

Or when it becomes saturated with road-grit and bird feces?

  • look if you don't know anything about MODERN MATERIALS then shut up... it doesn't have to be made out of fabric... you can make it out of gum or today you have flexible plastic... as I know carbon fiber is used in "car industry"

anyway what ever they would use it would be modified for use on car's body

  • It is obviously not made out of fabric, it's plastic, a very sturdy plastic that wont tear that easily. But I agree with you, if the plastic tears down somehow you would have to buy a new cover, which will, for sure, be very, very expensive.

  • You have to recognize it for what it is: A Concept Car, not intended to ever actually see the road. It's to prove one concept and one concept only: That a polymorphic (Catchy sci fi words ahoy) body design is mechanically feasible.

The idea of a car that changes shape to match road conditions is a good one, it's just that the technology to do it well doesn't yet exist.

  • Actually it is made of fabric. It exterior is made out of polyurethane-coated Spandex. So...yeah.

  • stop imagining... and start dreaming... even thought its too late. bmw has captured the essence of sex/ future... what will you do....

  • is that car legal to drive or to buy?

  • becuz it looks like a vaGina when the hood opens up

  • why did they have to name it GINA? Gina sounds like a cheap hooker to me xD

  • imagein if all cars were made of that material

  • not bad

  • what is the point of this?

  • Wink a girl with that car

  • hears something cool seek 17 18 19 it blinks

  • süper araba bea

  • Watch the first video response ^

  • 1:16

  • sieht eigentlich schrott aus... nur front von dem auto ist interessant und natürlich die technik...wenn bmw das aussehen noch bissl verbessert , dann ist es top

  • I like this car!

  • it is very impressice.

one needs to see how and if the material would hold up in everyday use.

    ~BMW art car

  • It has eyes... does it have teeth?

Watch out for the killer cars!

  • Those are actually headlights.

  • I don't think I've ever fallen in love with a car before.

  • its the anti Christ lawl jk this car would be sweet

  • Fucking terrifying.

  • omgg! it's ALIVE!!

  • that car is alive. raptor jesus, that's fucking creepy.

    *blink*

    *blink*

  • Awesome..

  • My god.. Auto makers get a brain, think of a truly innovative idea..

  • Oh. My. God.

    I think I just came.

  • Its not a cost effective car. a good idea but the cost to continually replace the canvas if accidents or bumps happen. You would need to replace the whole skin for a small tear because the design requires the skin to be taught.

  • nice way to completely rip that statement you just said off of a website.

  • i read that on cracked, but i assume they ripped it from the same place you did

  • Actually I didn't. It is a logical dilemma. I'm certain that BMW might be able to make it work but it would have to be an extremely strong fabric. It has to withstand a lot of things that metal can withstand for it to be a successful. The main problem with that is that it would become extremely expensive for mass production at the time being.

  • materials will evolve, this skin is only the beginning. next thing it wil be some sort of soft on demand material. definitely this is the future of car design. chris bangle is a genius. (can't belive I'm saying that)

  • wat if it rains that car is so fucked

  • Great, the world's first dry clean only car.

  • OMFG THIS CAR IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!111 :3

  • what ever do you mean by that? it is totally possible and I am very glad that someone finnally put an idea like this out there. so much could be done with this.

    the possability is amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • man i was beeing sarcastic ._.

  • hard to clean the car i think lol

  • the skin can easily be damaged ? e.g. lil kids wanting to cut it with a knife or sumfin and unlike a normal car, ull have to get the whole skin changedd ... only problem i see tbh

  • omg your right :P

    unless you have a garage..

    but not every person has

  • trust me..if someone has the money for this car..they'll have a garage

  • 1.23 wooooooooooow

  • ok so when do they taior a pinstripe and sport moda suit for this car!!!

grey pinstripe with a power tie red engine cowl!

and drop down teeth at the front intake so I can devour the car Im passing!! LOL!

emotion is a powerful thing to suggest with this concept, I love thinking about the potential. thanks for raising the intellectual bar!

  • So yeah, This better be in Transformers 2

  • it'd be scarier if the headlights changed in intensity with the engine rev.

  • I only have one question:

How the fuck do we kill it.

  • With Fire bro, the divine cleansing flames.

  • gimme my boomstick and box of 'divine flaming buck shot' NOW!

  • This would only be more freaky if there were a Terminator behind the wheel...

  • That's kinda awesome, but also kinda freaked me the f**k out

  • my previous comments weren't my words, it was taken off of the site..

this is a fantastic idea, only the fabric would be a pain in the butt to keep intact

  • awesome! but at the same time really really really spooky. i wouldn't want to see one coming towards me in the middle of the night.

  • This somehow reminds me of the movie CHRISTINE!!!

  • I imagine it will be a long time before I see anything that is cooler than that car.

  • also, Cracked

  • That was both demonic and gorgeous.

  • IT'S A DECEPTICON!!!!

  • This is the creepiest damn car I've ever seen.

  • OMGWTFBBQ! That car has fucking eyes! EYES! And the hood opens like a ribcage. IT'S FUCKING TERRIFYING!

But I want it nonetheless, it's AWESOME!

  • It has fucking eyes! That thing is more terrifying than awesome! Jesus, if I saw a car 'breathing' and blinking at me at a red light, I'd shit in my pants and try to drive 80 in reverse to get away from the damn demon car!

  • Also, as the fabric is some kind of Polyurethane/Spandex blend, I imagine it's pretty tear resistance. Though I won't be impressed until they make a car from kevlar. It's fair to say that BMW's problem is never going to be underestimating, but usually over-engineering.

  • Damnit, this looks like something out of some cheesy horror movie where the car comes alive and kills everyone.

I want it, I don't care how unsafe. GIVE.

  • That's simply not true, the skin of a car has little affect on crash. Simply look up Crumple zones or automotive safety on Wikipedia. How else would Formula 1 cars and drag racers that typically have minimal body work have such high crash survivability, despite going at high speeds?

  • How do you wash it?

What happens if the skin rips?

  • i have herd that you cant wash it and you have to replace the intire skin if there is a tear in it

  • "Obviously the big problem is that it's hard to imagine any fabric ever being stain-proof enough to resist mud, squashed bugs, road salt and bird crap that will accumulate over the years.

But even worse, fabric isn't the sturdiest building material known to mankind. While metal dents and paint scratches, fabric just tears. And it can't be repaired by a mallet and blob of Bondo...

  • you could have 3 color suits waiting in the garage and change out yourself to suit your mood, and Literally Wash your used skin in the washing machine!!!

tell me that isnt interesting, or your could terrorize the neighborhood with a skeletal Gina without the skin. now naked bike enthusiasts have a car to dream about as well.

  • ...The entire covering would need to be replaced, even with the slightest tear, because the aesthetic of the skin is dependent on it being as taut as possible."

  • At least it wouldn't cost a couple grand to replace it.

  • buy it a new coat.

  • Summer sweaters and Fall jackets for a car!

    totally Badass....

  • q asco es ser pobre y no poder comprar un auto o coche de estos la mierda vida es injustas encima q vida solo ay una nisiquiera vere ese auto en la calle pero los q nos qeda a los pobres es la ilucion y la inmaginacion

  • I like the idea but I don't know if i like the way you can see the light trough the "skin" of the car.

I can't wait to se what will come of it.

  • bmw is engineering dreams

  • Wow, it's actually quite creepy when it's 'eyes' open.

  • This is the BMW Concept GINA, you can meet it in Germany at the BMW Museum in Munich!

  • it's pure awesomness, that's what it is. this is the future. and I get to design it

  • is this the real model?

  • concept

  • it is real

  • if any body knows of a way i can get one to test drive it-please let me know.

  • shut the fuck up

each series looks different from each other

and they change the body style over time

  • Lestoppoltam!:D enyimééé

  • o:_OO amazzzzzzzzzzing

  • Szeretem:)

  • BMW, you always do so much better when you're not number one, your sucess is your greatist weakness... now, we need to talk about how you're going to sell me one right now.

  • as said by soemone else its impractical in a way cos if you have one of hese in london for example youd park up go into a shop and come back with a fifteen foot slice across the thing .... id still buy it tho cos who wouldn want a car that changes shape... its the closest thing we can really come to our childhood fantasy of owning a transformer..

  • science is advancing so 4 all of u who doubt this idea well think again on how science has progressed from the past. u may never know on what is yet to come. this car is extrordenary!! :>

  • that car is like the best car ever and ive always been a bmw fan

  • łał chce takie

  • shit!

  • i'd like to see the crash test.

  • remember that only the skin changed, the rest of the car is build like any car (and show me a modern car where the skin protects you).

  • The skin on this car protects you?

  • Doesn't really need to

Nowadays most of the structure provides the protection with crumple zones etc, so it's all hidden

It's nice.... but as a concept there are bits I think it is lacking, like the option to buy different 'skins' easily (if it takes 2 hours to put on it must be pretty easy to remove)

  • it looks so cute then closes "eyes"

  • LOL SEXY!!

  • It's alive !!!! :)

  • love the sexy eyes

  • impréssionnant.......BMW the best!

  • i don't think this car can pass a crash test

  • u bette rbelieve it, even if it looks very maybe underneath that textil material it's a very stiff chassis

  • Yeah it supposed to be something like an evolved form of the roll cage or something, It has to be with a cloth skin...

  • man i love her head lights, very good job

  • it's astonishing,it's vary alien like,and my God it's almost alive,amazing technology,just beautiful

  • sleek and fast... like a tuna?

  • hey you missed the way you check the engine for example!!!

  • i love the way she opens her eyes in the dark

  • "Her"???? What the fuck?

  • lol

  • bmw zeppelin

  • it kinda looks like it would be alive

  • it looks like it has a mind of it's own

  • My favorite part is when it is closing its eyes...

  • its gonna be very much lighter than the others...

it only takes about two hours to put the skin on...

like the man said in anohter vid!!!
