Well, i think this camera did its job quite good enough for blogging activity. If you need more quality over portability, why dont use a dslr or something for "a very high quality vlog"

When you want to record or take a picture of yourself, why does it have the mirror image? I know the picture and video would end up with the actual angle, but why can't it start that way in the first place?

I got this camera. It works good for filming yourself. As a Mac user I was hating that I couldnt use the 360 function and the box said I could lol!

Dude, u are soo wrong about this cammera. I have it and it shoots fantastic.. Ur problem is that u whine cause of the software that it comes with it... U can use any other software editer. Windows Live Movie Maker. Sony Vega's and other.

Yes! I just bought this camera for fifty euros and I have to say that it's smooth and easy to take with. Does what it's supposed to meaning you can take it anywhere and capture every moment you want. I HAD NO PROBLEM INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE ON MY WINDOWS 7, I mean really NO PROBLEM. Works perfectly.

@nashvillehomestore the reason I mention that is because Sony says it is compatible with Mac, but never mention limited functionality. For some reason Sony chose to make the camera only work with their proprietary software and not using standards of most video cameras and digital cameras.

@Pandaboiix The Bloggie records in MP4 video, I think that might be why your computer has difficulty in handling it, it can be heavy to decode (especially when you record in the highest available quality), so your editor has to work harder, which takes more time. I hope that helps :)

I own this camera. Good Camera. had it for a couple months now and its perfecty fine, durable. took it on a trip to mexico and it didnt fail me. Awesome Camera. Id say its like an 8.5 or 9 out of 10 for normal use, or professional things. Great camera to mess around with your friends tho. (:

I just bought a bloggie here from the shop cost me 200 euro, and I m going to return it tomorrow no question about it. inside a room the video quality is so SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!! I couldnt believe how bad is that '1080p' indoors. not even better then my laptop's 1.3MP built-in webcam!

@theliztiger1 I think it was the Canon SX100is and just upscaled. I have used multiple cameras, but pretty sure that is what I used. I borrowed a Canon T1i for some time so that could be it also, but I think it has a better Mic than that.

I think Sony bloggie has a critical software bug.

I bought it in March 2010 and soon the following error has become.

Try this, and write the reply.

1.Get Sony memory stick pro duo 16G or Sony memory stick pro duo HG 16G.

2.Sony K type battery (NP-BK1) fully charged.

3.Set for 1920x1080 30fps or 1280x720 60 fps movie.

4.Continuously record until the battery is exhausted.

5.movie files will be created on every 28 ~ 29 min

6.The MHS-PM5 become hot and movie files will be crushed.

8.after that. You can initialize the memory card using bloggie.

9.the error seems to be disappeared. But you can meet the error again soon.

You don't seem to know allot of things that are called out in the brochure. For a $150 HD video camera, what in the world do you expect? I got one of these for my 10 year old, he loaded the software on his pc himself and is making some cool HD videos.

@visualthailand I am comparing it to the Flip and the Kodak pocket cameras I have used. I expect it to be at least that good or better. As for the software...maybe they have since corrected it, but it was a pain to install.

I work with PC and Macs for 15 years as Adobe Expert. Mac is best for graphic designers, but you cannot hack it, improve or make it more silent or extend in your own way. Much more expensive and impossible to work together with custom parts. Mac used to work with mouses ONLY which Apple manufactured. My core i7 PC is overclocked and render videos 1,3 faster as Mac Pro. And I could attach it THREE GTX 280 cards... In mac: NO WAY! ;)

Thanks mate, I was having trouble with 360 not auto on the PMB package had t plug my camera in agin and then it up with the option to choose the unwrap utility. Got there in the end but it took three plug ins and outs to get 360 to work.

@vacationboyvideos I expected it to be at least as good as the Flip MinoHD which is fantastic other than Macro. There are some really nice cameras now for under 200, but this is definitely not one of them.

the audio is in mono.  This is an entry HD camera and I was comparing it to something like the Flip Mino HD which I also have. I find the quality to be far below that camera in my opinion. The 360 feature is cool, but the rest of it doesn't add up. The Kodak zi8 gets great review, but this one just falls short.
