Then dawn mentions to tara that she and willow had been fighting and Tara's like "uhhh no we weren't" So then tara looks up that the flower is used to erase memories and then the shit hits the fan and everything goes to pieces.

You're right, She finds the flower in the morning thinking its just that... a pretty flower. It's after Tara talks to Dawn and Dawn asks Tara if she and Willow are fine now because of the fight, when Tara tries to tell her that they didn't fight, because she doesn't remember, Dawn goes on about the fight and thats when Tara understands what Willow has done
