  • @LizLopezOfficial There are different organisations, that send students to different contries. Im from Denmark, and going to the us this summer! My organisation is called EF. But there are meny others: Ef, YFU, STS, Explorious, My education, AFS, Rotary, and others as well. But it depends on your own homecountry, and you destination. You are more than welcome to contact me if you have any questions! :)

  • This was actually really helpful. This gave me a lot of insight on a lot of different views from exchange students so thank you for making this video!

  • i'm an exchange student in USA and i also went to japan . i love their airport XD lol

  • i was an exchange student in the united states for 1 year. i regret it. boring place. i regret that i could have gone to germany or england and i chose the us. how stupid was i. i wasted my governments money. but in life you learn from mistakes. from monvies a commercial american look good but in real life not good. if you are european and you wanna be and exachange student do some research. dont just rely on tevelvision and pictures.

  • Rotary! FTW <3

But I'm in Germany....but Japan was my first choice ^.^

  • How long were you there?

  • I have a question. See, I live in Northern Ireland and our school system is different. So would I be able to even apply to go to Japan? I just really wanna go.

  • @CondomsAreFunnn You can take a gap year

  • how long were you guys there?

    And kill the rest...

  • WAIIIT! you done get to pick what country you want to go? i only want to go to japan D:

  • What's an "exchange student"?

  • I love all your videos, and they inspire me to go to Japan even more than I already want to. I just want to say thanks for being awesome and uploading :D

  • What is the title of the music in the background please tell me~

  • Lol got distracted by the girl at 4:49 who's kicking her luggage in the background XDDD

  • I sorta got really hard !!! HAHAHA that guy when you asked bout speakin japanese he said that xD

  • @LillyBleh oh! Thankyou Thankyou! This helps alot! My Japanese is very basic and I probably wouldnt know how to ask for my flight deatails and everything haha

Thanks for the help! And sure, econemy it is! <3

  • I aspire to become an exchange student, and it always makes me sad to see people leave. I hope I can one day experience it as well.

  • @elliotcarroll may i suggest something? i'm just speculating but can't you get a grant to help pay or have your parents or legal guardians sign up for a program to also help pay because that's what i'm doing because in april of 2012 i'm heading to ching for 2 weeks in my school (im 17) and that's what my mom is doing to pay for the trip since she can't pay out of pocket

  • I think it'd be amazing to be able to go! It looks like an amazing experience. You get to see what a Japanese High school is like first hand, learn about the culture, language, make new friends and connections, and so much more. *_*

I'm a freshmen right now so I'd probably go when I was a junior or a senior if I did ever go...but wow I think it'd be amazing....... I really want to go.

  • Hey, this year I am going to Japan for the first time, it is the first time I have ever flown and I am going alone. I am going to stay with a friend but I am really worried about the flight, I don't know what to do, which class should I take like econmy or buisness, and what do I do once I get to the airport? do some of the people in the airport speak english in case I need help? I am so very worried, please can you help me! D:

  • A year stay.

  • Are you going to go back to Japan?

  • Im going hopefully spring 2012, Watching this video kinda shocked me, Im not trying to be mean to a select few people on there but if you didnt spend time trying to learn japanese why even go, or if you thought it was completely boring then what a waste. I would love to go and I have to bust my butt for im a 15 year old and to make over 12,000 dollars to go with afs with poor parents is not easy.

  • @garrettparson I can understand your pain. I myself have poor parents and i always wanted to go to another country. Im planning on going to the Philippines someday when im 20 or older. Right now, its not easy, with all the stress that comes with living in the ghetto streets of NY. New York is a good place, only if your living in the right parts of it and have a good job. If not, don't bother coming here. Its not worth it. All of my relatives moved from NY.

  • @garrettparson well said. took the words out my mouth

  • @garrettparson 12,000 dollars yikes! how long are you going? im going for 2 weeks next year and were doing disneyland the whole ball a wax and we only have to pay 2000 dollars and get about 900 dollars back at the end because of fundraising.

  • @kyradoodle Thats for a year.Instead I have found something much more worth the money. The school of Yamasa. When going there you can stay with either a host family or a dorm on campus. Classes are six hours a day solid japanese. The rest of the day you can do whatever you like. The prices are the cheapest I have seen and you will gain much more japanese than any other normal foreign exchange. The only down side to Yamasa that I can see is that you do not get the Japanese Highschool experience.

  • @garrettparson Wow, you're just like me! (: I'm 15, going with AFS, and forced to pay $12,000.00 for the semester program. But the good thing about AFS is that they offer scholarships (sometimes full-ride) and financial aid to help you with the finances, and that's what I'm doing. I'm going to Japan in my Senior year. 2013, 5 months, and finally got the accent down :D

  • im thinking of going in 2013, do you think it would be a good time or wait longer?

  • what is a chapter?

  • i like this video:) very helpful:))) thanks for uploading:)

  • what does AFS mean?

  • wow Rachel, did you spend all your free time on video editing?

gotta teach me some of your skills sometimes :).

  • nice video~

I was also going to Japan by AFS too(from HongKong)...this year><

  • @ting94319 with whats happened with the earthquake and tsunami, are you still going?

  • @Orangetummy

yeah~i'm still going^^and now the exchange year delayed to August~maybe...if the problems are fine...i really have no idea>< and it became exchange for half-year~

  • Comment removed

  • @Orangetummy No, our exchange got cancelled....

  • @Orangetummy They postponed it until April 20th (for departure). But the program is still in effect.

  • @59918221

    postponed what?exchange program of 2012?

  • @ting94319 Just the departure. They usually leave late March, but this year they were originally going to go April 1st (...I think) but now they're leaving (to Tokyo) on the 20th. Meaning, its not too late to sign up and go this year.

  • @59918221

    u mean AFS?

well~i was suppose to be there on 23 of March, but it's postponed to 19 of August now

  • @ting94319 for which program? because the new Japanese school year starts in spring (late March-Mid April). Or are you only going for a semester? OHHHHH......you're going to Hong Kong....Thats my second choice if I can't go to Japan. Gotta love that Girl Generation and T-ara!!! xD

  • @59918221

no...i'm going to Japan from HongKong through AFS>< because of the nuclear problem AFS suggest us going to there in August and change of program duration from year to semester~so i was originally going to there in March /_\

  • @ting94319 I wanna go to China *pouts, then huffs* I really think that the semester stuff is a rip off. Because for like, $2,000 more you could just stay for an entire year.

  • @59918221

yeah~but who knows they will have that big disaster>< i think HongKong is a good place for exchange because almost everyone here can speak english and u can go to mainland whenever u want...so a lot of people will choose HongKong as their exchange place^^

  • Comment removed

  • @Orangetummy do you think that the program for exchange is still possible in 2012, 2 years after the tsunami?

  • @ting94319 I'm going through AFS in 2012 :)

  • @59918221

    ahhh~good ;)

maybe 2012 is better than 2011><

  • wow, this one is really good0_0

I feel the sadness... is everyone leaving japan in the video?

  • @crimsonlycans we all left already.. i filmed everyone on the way to the airport and at the airport...

  • @Orangetummy Would you mind telling me more about the Exchange program and things like costs, ty and sorry for troubling you.

  • I was just searching for new exchange videos and I saw you uploaded one ! Best day ever. :) Thank you for uploading this & I'm glad you had a great time!

  • @walkingtojapan thank you ;)

  • @Orangetummy How would an African-American foreign exchange student be treated in Japan?
