RuthAnn, You would want to use this vase decoratively only. Embossing would not hold up well to washing. You could rinse the inside if necessary, but you'd be better off using it for silk flowers or something like that.
Very Pretty..have you tested the vase as far as durability of the embossing with handwashing? It is very very pretty! TFS RuthAnn
