You have been a willing participant in everything that has happened in your life. These events have played their part in your growth process. There are no victims, there are no villains, and there are no heroes. We all play our roles of choice at any given time. When you choose the same kind of thing to happen in your life over, and over again, (like attracting the same kind of love interest that you know will end badly), It means you haven't learnt yet what is vital to your growth...
atoms develop in complexity from hydrogen molecules they come together and form chemicals these chemicals come together and form us. I was amazed when i realised that we are a complicated chemical equation. Even on this mundane level we could be known before we exist.
We need to have a holistic approach to our social reality, the issue at heart is how we are providing for our material and social needs, the way we are is just insane and involves so much suffering, exploitation and destruction, The market mechanism is politically manipulated, the wages system is the MEANS of class exploitation, and PROFIT just rules life and denies humanity its true potential , WE NEED TO SHARE OUR WORLD FOR OUR COMMON NEEDS and WELL BEING.
i think there is no such thing as happiness, you can be poor and still be happy and you can be milionaire and still be unhappy.
i think that what we should be asking for is peace of mind. sometimes we believe that these are the same happines and peace of mind. but i think that peace of mind really do exist. happiness its just a ilusion. we all should find satori.

I find it a bit bizarre that one of the first sayings for happiness is limiting desire... and yet the woman speaking is seemingly naked and the video is seemingly flaunting that desire causing / stimulating state...
say hello to the new all-natural wheat-free gluten-free, sugar free, vegan-friendly, ecologically sustainable, gender nuetral, obedient servant worker of the future. she sounds drugged "happiness is selfless servitute to the great collective purpose" im sorry but people i know who are obcessed with political cause are angry bitter people the happiest people i know are the most materialistic people i know. the ones who are obcessed with a political cause are allways angry.
No, not seasons are beautiful. That's a fantasy world idea. Don't you think there are variations of beauty? And as things become less beautiful, we would eventually find that something ugly exists? The universe has opposite sides of the coin in many respects. There is real good and real evil; real love and real hate; beauty and lack of beauty. It's a fairytale that everything is beautiful, if we change our perception of it. But we are to learn from the sour. Sour experience is a greater teacher.
Happiness is not eternal, but we can have an affect on how much of it we feel and how often, though, not total control over it. Some Ingredients to happiness: Positive attitude-outlook on life, caring about and serving others, being grateful for what you have, instead of always moaning over what you don't have, occupying your time with doing things that are meaningful and of worth to you, sharing your drop of happiness with someone, feeling of value to others, the learning of new things, etc.
The secret of not being unhappy: Don't feel, don't think, don't hope, don't desire, don't breathe, don't exist. :) But then, you couldn't feel happiness either - not being able to feel anything at all. The 'sweet and the sour' moments are just part of life. As long as we exist, with feelings, thoughts, emotions, etc, we're bound to experience some level of unhappiness and some point.
My First Parameter: If it is Gods Religion I am Looking for, the Sacred Scripture Must be From God
In my study of other religions, one of my goals was to read each religions sacred scriptures directly, in order to understand directly from the source what the religion was all about. This is obviously what piqued my curiosity in the Quran.
Sufficient is it to say that Islam teaches that life is a test, and that all human beings will be accountable before God. A sincere belief in the life of the hereafter is the key to leading a well-balanced and moral life. Otherwise, life is viewed as an end in itself, which causes human beings to become more selfish, materialistic and immoral.
but, if you focus on making sure you are in good standing for the afterlife, then is that not a very selfish and egotistical way to live? How does that promote morality or balance?
you see, when you speak like this, then you are more universal, you don't pit yourself against other beliefs,in this way can we have dialogue, but by saying "only my way is the only way",lets face it,this is not too realistic, every human is entitled to their beliefs, there is not one and only way.,,,,,peace.
Happiness is the only goal on earth that all people without exception are seeking to attain. Believers and unbelievers alike seek to be happy, but each party is using different methods.
However, only believers can achieve genuine happiness. All forms of happiness attained without a firm belief in God, the Almighty, are mere illusions.
yupiie, these are just Words, even the word illusion cannot be grasped by the human mind. if you mean That happiness is a form of illusion, then you are correct, because it cannot sustain itself, there is much to under-stand on these issues,a study in quantum physics is helpful, our perception of reality is the illusion in itself, cheers.
I wouldn't say it's an illusion. There is real happiness. But it's just not continuous, without end. I would say that eternal bliss is not real. There will be times of interruption, by some unpleasant experience, thought, feeling, etc, that will turn the tables for a time. Not even God dwells in eternal joy or bliss. He feels the sadness of his creations when they suffer. So, he could not be in eternal bliss. He'd have to be a robot not to feel unhappy at times. It's just part of life.
i think i love Buddhism, from these sysings. lol when a strong believing christian when I wanted something I would pray that god gives me the strength to go without it. It just come natural for me.
one thing though, why is this girl appearing naked?? Are Buddhist weird spiritual naturalist believing in other stupid stuff? like ghost and astral travel and stuff? I dont mind meditation but not imagined rubbish about reality. I prefer reality, well i try to.
Common on, the best quotation of Happiness, that got straight to the point is Lincoln's quote that said, "Folks are about as happy as they make their minds to be.

Psychologist Dan Gilbert presented a lecture to TED in which he spoke to research into the phenomenon of happiness. His conclusions are surprising, to say the least. Worth a look. Google "TED Dan Gilbert happiness."
I saw that video as well and it was a real eye opener. I'd definitely recommend others watch it. I love how he talks about the man who was falsely imprisoned for 50 years and how he talked so favorably of his experience after being released. Absolutely crazy!
Indeed. If Gilbert is right, then what we *think* makes us happy, and what actually does, are completely different. Which implies that, for many, goal-setting and decision-making may be seriously out of whack.
And if *that* is true, a whole lot of assumptions we make about our society may collapse into irrationality. Economics, for example, which presumes a rationality of motivation that may not exist.
I believe people must choose to be happy. I believe people picture themselves in situations, acquiring things, and then try to obtain those desires in hopes they'll provide happiness. But there is no guarantees. When those desires don't provide happiness, that leads to disappointment and unhappiness.
"the happiness we receive for ourselves, is greater than that which we obtain from our surroundings. The world in which a person lives shapes itself chiefly by the way he or she looks at it" good stuff. Nice video Mike, loved the music and backgrounds too
Happiness comes, when you totally relax into your Being. Happiness come when you completely accept yourself, the good and the bad, and realize it is ok. Happiness comes when you surrender to loving yourself unconditionally. Once you can genuinely love yourself, you are capable of selfless, unconditional love for others. Once you start loving and being loved, your happiness keeps growing and healing :)
i have so much happiness and love to share, and i believe & act upon the quote; "Darkness cannot drive out darkness;only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that". But some recent experiences have made me think maybe some ppl thrive on darkness, because they will do not accept love that is offered to them. Nevertheless, i love this video and find it inspiring :)
Happiness for Happiness's sake is ultimately the greatest happiness. Passion for passion's sake is the greatest passion. Happiness and Passion that is not fixated toward any one thing is the greatest possible.

I have to admit you comments are usually random, LOL. Thanks for watching though, I appreciate it.

I wasn't "LOLing" at the video, just the "where is the bottom of the half of this tape?" comment. I like the philosophical quotes videos. They're very poetic and meaningful.
