I would definetly say this is my favourite Pavarotti song & listen to it every day. As he sung it with so much passion, without over powering the song as a whole. I have heard many other renditions of this beautiful song by many other great artist ( Bocelli, Dalla.etc etc) but none of them have ever come close to bettering Pavarott's version of this timeless classic. I purchased The Essential Pavarrotti album straight after after hearing this 1 song in store. It was the first time i had heard this song. Being a fan of Pavarotti's i dont know how i could have missed this stunningly beautiful song. I rushed straight home & asked my then Girlfriend at the time to listen to this (as this was 22 years ago) song. This music was not to her liking at the time. I played it for her once & she burst out in tears while listening to it.. Another Pavarrotti fan was born.

I hate to inform you all, but this is not Pavarotti singing this song. I don't know who is singing it, but it does not sound like him. AM I the only one who doesn't think that this is Pavarotti's voice. Listen to the video of him and compare. Pavarotti has a very distinctive voice. If I am wrong then I apologize, but I doubt it.

Caruso is written by Italian singer/songwriter Lucio Dalla in 1986. It is dedicated to Enrico Caruso, one of the greatest tenors (Neapolitan) of all times.

Judging from the comments very few YT'ers seem to know that it is in fact a tribute to one of the greatest tenors of all times.

Luciano, of course, is communicating his own admiration for Caruso in his singing. Maybe that's why it is so emotional.
