Friend, this groove is looking alike a rhitym from bahia, the " Axe" .Iv liked the video but the beats division are for axe. The caixa rhitym and de surdo beats show this... In my opinion the sounds are too metalic ( caracteristic of axe) in my opinion and the surdo tune is too high...

I agree with you as far as the tuning of the drums, it could be a little lower but I also think it is a matter of taste. Did you listen to the video with headphones or simply listened through the computer speakers? There is a huge difference.

The caixa pattern is the one I played with the Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel. I have family there too!

Amigo, o toque esta mais pra axe bahiano nao? Gostei do video mas a divisao esta mais pra axe. Acho que fica evidente no toque de caixa e na divisao do surdo de segunda! Aalem disso o som esta metalizado de mais, e os surdos podiam estar mais graves eu acho.Obrigado....

Voce escutou o video com headphone ou com a caixa de som do seu laptop? Talvez esse seja o motivo pelo qual o surdo ta muito brilhante. Eu concordo que poderia ser um pouco mais baixo mas eu gosto da afinaçao assim por causa das peles que uso do meu patrocinador

Does the repique played with a hand and one stick make this more of a Rio samba, in contrast to the two-stick repique of Bahia, or is there some other consideration here?

Yeah, it is a Rio style of playing repinique when you use one wood stick and a bare hand. In Bahia, we usually use two plastic sticks!
