George Will uses persuasive arguments based on reason, and delivers the most fascinating commentary on the air today. He makes us all think. He makes our country stronger.

George Will Nailed that one! Obama isnt a good communicator . He is a good fundraiser ashe charges quite abit for the liberal Kool aid. He is not a man of substance . His agenda is anti American and 40 percent of citizens are clueless enough to think he is good for the country simply cause he is either Black or has a D by his name. obama is a totall disgrace an a poor leader an i was a dem until he showed his true colors.kills jobs, raises debt.wont pass a needed keysone oil pipeline cause of his owing for votes to the epa.
Obama is a gifted speaker (as good as Reagan and Clinton, I think, and far superior to Nixon, Ford, Carter and both Bushes). But Will is right: his rhetorical gifts aren't enough to get things done.
Will says of Obama "there is no evidence the man has rhetorical powers he is relying on". Hell, he got to be president of the United States for christs sakes! Just what more evidence is there?
If you americans has ANY interest in restoring relations abroad, you keep Obama in office. He's the best that has happend to your failing country. And you gave him a shithole to work on, and in global shitty times. Give the man a chance to restore the damn thing.
@HKragh I dont give a shit about foreign relations or what other countries think of us. I work for my own interests and my own liberty. I will be charitable towards whom I want to be charitable
@o5iiawah And that attitude is EXACTLY what's killing your country. The day you started believing your country was self sustaining, and its citizens began not having a clue whether Europa is a continent, a city in China or some fluffy tailed animal. Most american has this strange feeling the rest of the Earth really doesn't exist as more than a faint concept. I hope you come back healthy, but I fear the U.S is in fact bleeding to death. Down with ego, up with a broader perspective.... now.
@HKragh you should know by now that forcing people to live and work for the sake of others has killed 100 million people in the 20th century alone. Never before in the history of humanity have more people been free than during the existence of the USA. There is no reason to change the way we do things because Europe is butthurt. Every 200 years there are heads in the streets because people are forced to provide for the state or the aristocracy. Still 100% employment in N. Korea and Cuba
@HKragh Us Americans say..."Fuck You"...Whomever the GOP president is to replace the current president....we will defund the UN....and there will be no more tit for you to suckle on.This man...if he can be scored as one.,is the worst president of our time. He will be removed by good ole fashioned American voting....and if the left tries to strong arm we will beat them down.
Why are you all getting down on Obama? Look at how his policies have made America more prosperous, reduced unemployment to 5%, stopped illegal immigration and presence, given all Americans more freedom. and solved the conflicts in the Middle East. oops....nevermind.
@LechDharma So compare Obama's record with Bush's record. Or better yet, look at economics before and after the Reagan divide. Copy the following web links and remove the space and you will see the serious problem in the reasoning most republicans provide.:
@LechDharma "The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even in one term, but America - I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you - we as a people will get there.".
How quickly the citizens of the USA forget. Long and steep, he said - long and steep.
A rare moment of insanity from George Will. There's no evidence that Obama has persuasive powers? How the heck do you think he beat Hillary Clinton and won the 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? It wasn't because of his resume. Obama knows nothing about how a country runs but he has astonishing charisma and speaking ability. It's just that now people are disillusioned with his lack of results. Let's not let our dislike for Obama cloud our view of reality.

What do you say to the elected Democrats that once supported Obama that are now distancing themselves from him? Did they suddenly turn racists? As we all know, every Republican is/was a racists, except for MLK of course, and the conservative black politicians.
It's policy and actions, not the skin. Get over it.
I'm sure any pundit could take any politician and list only his failures and use them as evidence that whatever position he is taking is correct.
Fact is, Obama is a black man that was elected President of the United States of America, something the folks who think Will is making some kind of sense never thought possible.
These Obama haters lay their heads on the pillow and can't sleep at night because they can't stop thinking, "There's a black man in the oval office.". That sends me ROTFLMAO.
@superlucci Me thinketh thou doth protest too loudly. Or were you trying to say that there are no racists anywhere in America?
George Will's the kind of republican that'll steal your wallet and help you look for it, saying "That guys got it!".
They've stolen our childrens future to pad the balance sheets of weapons, insurance, oil, and agri-business conglomerates, give the bilionaire boys a tax cut, and now have people standing in the hot traffic, waving signs about Obama. Dumb and dumber.
@superlucci Again the Ad-hominem attack, "This guy says there's racists somewhere that don't like Obama and that means he's calling all conservatives racist."
I've never said all conservatives are racist. I merely said I'm quite pleased that those who are racist can't sleep at night.
And those billionaires that made fortunes in America? I guess the infrastructure taxes paid for didn't have anything to do with their success, right? So all that's why they shouldn't have to carry their own weight?
@ladamyre1 Why did you put in quotes something I never said. Lols.
Its not an ad hominem attack, its calling you out on your bullshit. You said that people who agree with Will, who would in fact be conservatives, are pissed off a black man is in the white house. You insinuated they were racist.
I am pleased that those who voted for a black man cuz he is black cant sleep at night.
Infrastructure taxes from government did not make them wealthy you fool. Their ingenuity made them wealthy.
@superlucci Yes, it's not a direct quote, but it is precisely the point you make when you say, "Oh god the race card again." Again you use the ad-hominem attack that because, as you assert, all that agree with Will are conservative, then my expression of glee towards racists that agree with Will being upset, means I think that all conservatives are racist. You continue to make arguments that are non-sequiter to my points.
It's telling that you resort to calling me "fool" as well. How common.
@superlucci I quote, "You said that people who agree with Will, who would in fact be conservatives, are pissed off a black man is in the white house."
Again I did not say that all people that agree with Will, neither that all conservatives are pissed a black man is in the White House.
Try to keep your eye on the ball. You are using non-sequiter, ad-hominem arguments. And that IS bulls**t.
@superlucci Reagan was a traitor who cut a deal with our enemies to keep our people hostages until the 1980 election was decided. He quadrupled the deficit and did the worst of Keynesian economics, grew our economy on weapons spending, leaving us with a record debt, a problem Bill Clinton fixed. But dubya undid that and made even Reagan look good by comparison by lying to us and getting us into a war on false pretenses, adding more trillions in debt for our children to pay.
Sure. Could you refresh my memory, though... how did Clinton undo the damage Reagan created? I can't remember, and Wikipedia historical articles just aren't showing anything in that regard.
@JDPatriot I should remember I'm posting comments on a video that mostly Reagan and Bush worshippers would be interested in.
The '93 tax code that had McDonalds offering 401k's and health benefits to burger flippers. The tax code change that had all you guys saying it would bankrupt the country because all the companies would leave the country taking the jobs with them.
Were you on another planet when the news was talking about surpluses that might pay off the debt in 10 years? Oh, you're 19.
Those surpluses dried up when Bush jr. came in. I'm not a worshiper of any politician, thank you, especially not some keynesian psychopath like Bush or Obama. Clinton wasn't terrible, I'll grant you that, but he wasn't the economic God y'all make him out to be. Clinton was a moderate who was willing to work with the opposition to get things done. Bush and Obama are dividers who draw lines in the sand.
So, 401ks for burger flippers... how did that help the nation, exactly?
@JDPatriot Perhaps you didn't see my earlier comment about the proper role of a tax code making corporations act in the best interests of the country. If so, my bad.
It's not that the poor were getting 401k's, it's that the tax code made it profitable for corporations to do that. The Clinton (or should I say Reich-Rubin) tax code turned a weak economy into a workers market and everybody was working, paying taxes, buying things, making businesses hire more people, who were paying taxes...etc.
If the tax code makes it profitable for corporations to give 401ks and other benefits to employees that's all well and good, but I don't see how it stimulates the economy. The economy is driven by people, and people need prosperity to do that. Simply creating jobs isn't enough, you need to create careers.
Perhaps the 401ks help do that. All I know is that Bush and now Obama cannot compromise, and as a result we're screwed.
@JDPatriot Building a middle class is what stimulates the economy. People making a good wage have more money to spend on clothes and appliances, or just shop. They go to the movies and eat out sometimes. All that private sector spending stimulates corporations (and small businesses) to increase production by hiring more workers. In a workers market, employers must pay better wages, then folks have even more money to spend. A rising tide of wages and private sector spending that lifts all boats.
@JDPatriot Yes, a rising tide that even makes the rich get richer. So why don't the rich want it?
The type of economy I just described thrives on and promotes competition. The corporations have to work harder to keep market share. They must create better products and provide better services in order to stay in business.
And my contention is they are just plain lazy. They'd rather bribe politicians to pass laws that let them make money shipping jobs overseas, than have to work for a living.
@superlucci Now we're talking! The old system of taxation encouraged corporations to act in a patriotic fashion. 90% tax rate in the top bracket caused all sensible companies to use those old fashioned "loopholes", build another factory, hire more workers, give them retirement and health care benefits. Improve equipment, pay higher dividends, in other words grow the company. Eisenhower was the last good president we've had, and he tried to warn us. I listened, but you're too blind to see it.
@ladamyre1 Encouraged corporations to act in a patriotic fashion? Are you kidding me? The only thing that encouraged was for corporations to try their very best to not pay those taxes.
Go look at the revenue under the Reagan Admin when he lowered taxes. Adjust it for inflation and growth population and we got more revenue under Reagan than Eisenhower.
When you increase taxes on people, dont expect the economy to grow
@superlucci Here lies the fallacy that keeps the current crowd of conservatives prisoners to a feudalistic system. A corporation is not a person. It's only purpose is to make profit and without regulation, it will go where the wages are cheapest, the protections to the only planet we have to live on don't exist, and taxes are lowest.
A corporation is not moral, it's not immoral, it's amoral. Regulations are what makes it's actions patriotic or not, evil or not, hedonistic or not.
What you DON'T see are the family people, the one's with jobs and homes that are impressed with Obama. These are the people who finished high school, stayed off drugs, and have families that they love and want to protect. These are the people who are NOT for Obama.
I recall Tom Brokow on Charlie Rose Show basically saying we have no idea who 0bama is...what books has he read...what has he done prior to public service.
@quizerry Only the street people, the one's you see, claim to believe what he says. Many of them don't believe it, but they are homosexual, or communist, or socialist, or communist and homosexual and just want to "act up" and make a mess of things like they have made a mess of their own lives.
Everyone loves Will... when he seems to agree with them. When he doesn't or says something contrary to the party line, then they shit all over him. Typical "team" response by mindless cheerleaders.
@NoGuff In regards to what George Will says in this video i agree THE END. Having made this specific point i am not a fan of George Will , ever since he held that freakin "dinner party" at his house for Obama right after Obama won. I'll never forget this RINO move on George Will's part.
In every country. By definition, half the population is stupider than the other half. Or, you could see it the way Harlan Ellison does (and I paraphrase), 90% of everything is crap, doesn't matter if its cars, tuna sandwhiches, or people.
@NoGuff One of my many mentors said "The bottom line, on everything, is, it's bullshit."
Your comment, while accurate I believe, combined with my comment, leaves me unsettled and ready to leave this fine country when the time comes. Just as my ancestors did some generation ago. I won't leave my grand kids twisting in the wind here. There are now better places to live than the good old USA.
@NoGuff hahaha If I did mention them by name they would not remain better than the USA. I will give you a hint though. There are very few, they are small , they are in the SoPacific and you need a blue water boat to get there.

Oh, you're 19.
ladamyre1 5 months ago
@ladamyre1
JDPatriot 5 months ago
@JDPatriot Perhaps you didn't see my earlier comment about the proper role of a tax code making corporations act in the best interests of the country. If so, my bad.
It's not that the poor were getting 401k's, it's that the tax code made it profitable for corporations to do that. The Clinton (or should I say Reich-Rubin) tax code turned a weak economy into a workers market and everybody was working, paying taxes, buying things, making businesses hire more people, who were paying taxes...etc.
ladamyre1 5 months ago
@ladamyre1
Indeed I didn't.
JDPatriot 5 months ago
@JDPatriot Building a middle class is what stimulates the economy. People making a good wage have more money to spend on clothes and appliances, or just shop. They go to the movies and eat out sometimes. All that private sector spending stimulates corporations (and small businesses) to increase production by hiring more workers. In a workers market, employers must pay better wages, then folks have even more money to spend. A rising tide of wages and private sector spending that lifts all boats.
ladamyre1 5 months ago
@JDPatriot Yes, a rising tide that even makes the rich get richer. So why don't the rich want it?
The type of economy I just described thrives on and promotes competition. The corporations have to work harder to keep market share. They must create better products and provide better services in order to stay in business.
And my contention is they are just plain lazy. They'd rather bribe politicians to pass laws that let them make money shipping jobs overseas, than have to work for a living.
ladamyre1 5 months ago
@ladamyre1 "So all that's why they shouldn't have to carry their own weight?"
This is a ad hominem attack. When did I ever say that they shouldnt have to carry their own weight because of infrastructure spending?
Every single person in America serves to keep what they earn. Tax them on their consumption not their income
superlucci 5 months ago
@superlucci Now we're talking! The old system of taxation encouraged corporations to act in a patriotic fashion. 90% tax rate in the top bracket caused all sensible companies to use those old fashioned "loopholes", build another factory, hire more workers, give them retirement and health care benefits. Improve equipment, pay higher dividends, in other words grow the company. Eisenhower was the last good president we've had, and he tried to warn us. I listened, but you're too blind to see it.
ladamyre1 5 months ago
@ladamyre1 Encouraged corporations to act in a patriotic fashion? Are you kidding me? The only thing that encouraged was for corporations to try their very best to not pay those taxes.
Go look at the revenue under the Reagan Admin when he lowered taxes. Adjust it for inflation and growth population and we got more revenue under Reagan than Eisenhower.
When you increase taxes on people, dont expect the economy to grow
superlucci 5 months ago

@1Makyo A poorly constucted sentence, but after reading it a few times, I like it. Makes you think to understand it.

I remember the Republicans being so pathetic that they wanted Rio to get the Olympics instead of Chicago. So much for patriotism.
Republicans are disgusting.

"This" is one of the most devastating take downs of Obama ever, by George Will? Really, this?
Obviously, whoever wrote this header doesn't read any of Will's columns at the Washington Post or Newsweek.

Obama does suck. But he will be re-elected next year...why? Because the parade of crazies that the Republicans are rolling out will not get the job.

This is the new Media agenda now that Obama is supporting Palestine. The Jews control the Media and Obama has made them made.
There's a new directive: Tell the truth about Obama, no more favoritism.

Why do Obama supporter believe anything he says? I don't get it .

@quizerry Only the street people, the one's you see, claim to believe what he says. Many of them don't believe it, but they are homosexual, or communist, or socialist, or communist and homosexual and just want to "act up" and make a mess of things like they have made a mess of their own lives.

@NoGuff In regards to what George Will says in this video i agree THE END. Having made this specific point i am not a fan of George Will , ever since he held that freakin "dinner party" at his house for Obama right after Obama won. I'll never forget this RINO move on George Will's part.

@1Makyo
