I would love to see an RTS instead of a turn-based game designed like this one. It's great for single-player, but multiplayer games really hurt when it's all turn-based.

The other issue I have with the game, which also only applies to multiplayer, is that you can't use the same account on multiple computers for a LAN party with friends or family.

For single-player though, I can't think of any significant complaints. :)

Looks interesting. If the unit/structure management is anything like Sins of a Solar Empire then it will be much easier to deal with.

I like it when developers actually demonstrate their games personally too. It makes it seem like they care about their work and how it is portrayed to their audience and potential customers. Trailers are nice but they don't go in depth on the content. Having someone who actually helped make the game go through it is a major plus in my book.

Elemental had a bad release, which is a big suprise considering that this game is done by Stardock, but it will receive a lot of support and great expansions, also considering that it's Stardock (unless they ditch the game and start Galactic Civilizations III).

It seems they've got the entry level covered. menus seem functional etc. boring stuff yes, but tactical games are like that in the first some or so rounds. What happens next is what's really important. And to find out you need a demo(as in game demo -not presentation demo).

In some games that use squares, it is impossible to attack even tho your corner of your square and your opponents corner of his square are touching. Instead you can only attack when your side of the square is touching your opponents side of the square.

If you use hexes, the positions available to attack from have increased there fore you can attack from all angles.

It makes a big difference astyanax82...

actualy yeah, demigod was created by Gas powered games and was released through stardock(for example)

& im just guessing but i believe,"Havok" developed this game, these guys i am assuming are an indie company, so they dont have as much resources available unlike "ID software" for eg

I believe you're thinking about "Impulse" which is Stardock's digital game store, very similar to Steam. Though they also make their own games and help publish(mainly through Impulse) as well as help develop games, like in the case of 'Sins of a Solar Empire.'

Stardock has also developed games completely on their own, like 'Galactic Civilizations 2', which is pretty damn awesome and is relatively similar to 'Elemental: War of Magic' here.

I think the graphics look really nice in a cute and cartoony way. This game is a must buy for me. My favorite parts are the cartoon graphics and the "lost technologies" concept. FINALLY, someone realized that researching the same technology 1000 times in a game should make a difference in society but somehow didn't. (Not bashing any other games in particular, just praising this one.)

@Corinth12821 If you could not find Master of Magic using Google, your computer skills are fail. Aside from that, Master of Magic had something most other games of its time, and since, are missing: actual gameplay, because they are so obsessed with graphical flash and flare over substance.

This game might prove a good spiritual successor to Master of magic, but some advice to both sides: quit wasting your time comparing them and let this game stand or fall on its own merit or lack thereof.

So until someone was willing to actually say what the initials stood for, its a bit hard. unless of course you actually are refering to Motorcycles of Manchester or Message Oriented Middleware. ect. My point was the game was so old that its not even closely a top related search for the initials. I agree they need to move on and enjoy the new game.

Considering this "MoM wannabe" not only purposely recaptures the original gameplay of MoM, but also adds new features like story campaigns, quests, varying technology trees and various modding tools to easily create new items, tiles, maps, quests, units, factions, I don't think your prediction is reasonable.

By the way, you can switch off the grid in the options menu if you don't like it.

This game reminds me of Age of Wonders. I like the sovereign and city focus much better than the adventurer angle.
