The cops then went around and informed each protester individually that if they didn't move they would be pepper sprayed. So essentially, these people all consented to being sprayed. They wanted their 15 minutes and they got it.
Even though they were protesting for a just cause, doing so in private property is illegal. You could say the use of the spray was excessive, but the cop told them he would spray them, they didn't move so the cop did his job.

• Students were not blocking anything.My daughter walks there everyday but she never felt bothered by the protesters. There is a huge error in the design of the Centennial walkway; it does not lead anywhere.It is just a symbolic but useless path.I went to the protesting site.The students were peacefully gathering and it was clean. One of the students who was pepper sprayed and arrested didn't receive medical treatment for four hours.Katehi knew something was happening but didn't rescue arrested.

What you don't understand was there's a video preceding this one where the police officers calmly and collectedly tell every single demonstrator that "if they remain there when the police squad comes, they will be subject to use of force." They were warned. The media is making them out to be such helpless victims, but they chose to have pepper spray in their face.

Well the occupy crowd in Sacramento was small. Maybe 50 or so. People are kind of tired of these people now. They over stayed their welcome all over the US. What these Davis kids want is admimistrators to lose jobs and to have pay cut so it can go to their tuition. They aren't saying that in the RT vid, because RT likes clips for hits not real news leads. But it boils down to cutting salaries and faculty jobs. That's what the kids want if they get their way.

I own Pepper Spray and 2 Tasers. My Pepper Spray is for a Bear in the woods that decides he wants to make me his lunch, while I'm deer hunting. Better than taking my 44 to him, no need for that. These students were demanding free pot. They said if they didn't get any, they would strom the buildings and would bust everything up. That cop didn't give them pepper spray, it was pot in a soluable solution. They all got high and had big merry party. It was joyous, and pleasant, the best part of their education so far. RT didn't want to report that but this was just pot party. I don't want to hear any more lies about occupied pepper spray, it was a pot party plain and simple.
