  • Music like this makes me wish I were born in another time and place or could turn back the hands of time and do things differently in my life. All we have is now though truthfully. Also, God knew exactly when and where he wanted each of us placed. So I guess I'll just make the best of the rest of my life. I've spent the best years of my life acting like a damn fool, but am older and wiser now thankfully.

  • Spring 1985...Wow i can't believe that over 25 years went so fast. Now the music has no passion, or emotion. Everything seems so fake now. I miss my youth!!

  • Mabey i'll get sum when I play this 2nite!

  • @2Umsjean Cleveland in the house! I grew up in Cleveland hts and remember this song being played on 93 at night during for lover's only with Bobby RRRRRRRRRUSH! Damn those were the days!

  • Damn ....this song brings back so many memories of growing up in Chicago way back in the 80's .... my heart is actually speeding and skipping beats as I'm listening to it, thinking about an ex girlfriend ( Charlene) ..... I swear I almost forgot about this track... stumbled on it by accident ...thanks 4 tha post !

  • This was more than a "little known" track. This was a hit. It didn't chart as high as their up-tempo stuff, but it's one of my favorites by the Dazz Band.

  • This song used to play on the radio during the "quiet storm" hours when I was a pre-teen, but I never knew who sung it or the actual name of the song. I began searching for it a few years ago, and today, about 15 years later, SUCCESS! You are truly awesome bjcapital! Thank you so much!

  • THE KINSMAN DAZZ!!!! for those that know

  • Clevelands' Own Skip Martin and Dazz Band. Only the true veterans of Soul know and understand how they would turn out all the festivals and concerts in Cleveland. I saw the Skip Martin perform his last show in 85. They turned it out and set the tone for the rest of the night.

  • Damn I remember driving in my Pontiac Fiero from Kansas City to Warrensburg to see my girlfriend in college and jamming to this song LOL how time goes but the memories are so sweet.

  • @1990Nikia (You crazy lol!!!)

  • Now brings back some memories....

  • ohio stand up !!!

  • 80's 80's 80's! Between this group S.O.S, Gap Band, The Time Bar Kays, I could go on and on, todays groups don't stand a chance. Real muscicians, vocalists, give me the 80's over this bull in the music industry today anyday!

  • My Partners father use to own a BBQ joint called Mt Pleasant BBQ on Kinsman Ave in Cleveland Ohio. I remember going to get something to eat on a friday night and the then Kinsman Dazz would be on the corner singing. Good times.

  • so beautiful!~*****~!

  • SHABADOO ON WKBZ 12MID TO 6 AM

  • everybody was at the skate rink when this song hit, skateland Tulsa OK, northside rider fo life

  • Skip Martin iz da man nuff said.

  • Beautiful song, thanks for posting it.

  • The first time I heard this song was in 1990. I recorded straight from the radio. I would listen to it over and over again on a loop. I didn't know who sang it, but I loved it. I recently thought about old music I haven't heard in years. This song came to mind. After some detective work, I found it. Thanx for posting it. I keep hitting "replay"

  • I have be looking for this song for 25years I heard it once at a club in LA and fell in love but did not known its name I have found itt

  • This R&B track was a regular play for the "slow skate" session at the rink I skated at back in the day, the flow is so smooth, with a dab of funk added, along with those melodious, and soulful vocals, it all came together to create one of the most under rated R&B tracks of the 80's, hands down!!

  • The Dazz Band made songs that still make you feel good the love song great the up tempo still make the body move!!!

  • Skip Martin is a bad boy! Thats the lead vocalist for the Dazz Band. The ONLY lead vocalist!

  • They just don't make songs like this anymore :(. It's not about getting some booty...it's about expressing what your heart feels for the woman you love. I remember this song back in '85 when I was 19 and in the Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Pendleton CA. Whenever they played this song, you had to find someone to dance with...it's still a timeless love song even after 24 years.

  • @caramelprinze I can dig it....I was in the Army stationed in Korea and met my hubby the same year...he was Air Force! This album is the bom-diggity! They just don't make music like this anymore.....

  • @caramelprinze

I was an 0811 artillery back then and use to hang in LA on the weekends.

I had an uncle who lived in LA so I would escape the base vibe everychance

    I could get.

I hung out, when I could at this club called the Carollina West near the

    airport.

Use to be all types of fine women out there trying to get picked by a cool guy.

  • @gat333 Man I almost forgot about Carolina West :). We used to go there for the afterhours party. It didn't close until 6 or 7 in the morning. Man that just brought up some good memories. And yes the ladies were fine! We also hung out at the Red Onion and sometimes at the Bitten Apple. There was also a club in Riverside, I think it was called the Metro. And a samller club called the Gas House in West Covina. California great times :). Yes I was 0151 administration attached to infantry

  • @caramelprinze My brother`s in arms . And also having a blast back then all the same places during the same time!!! Holla!! Much Love!!!

  • @gat333, Oh don't talk about the West Boyee, that was my spot. I'm from Chicago, my boys were from DC, Jersey and Atl. We would leave Camp Pen and drive to the West on full tilt listening to DC Go Go. Yes there were no ladies finer than the Ladies at the West, The Bitten Apple, The Red Onion, LA Cafe across the street from the Red Onion, Kiss The Club in Costa Mesa. The Metro was the spot on Sun nights for the Bruthas. Did you ever go to Club Monopolys in Riverside in the 80s.

    Semper Fi Baby.

  • @caramelprinze As a former marine also stationed at Camp Pendleton in `85 at H.Q. Batt. Mainside. Also 19 yrs. old. IT is safe to say ,I can feel you!!! So holla at a fellow jar head!! Much Love!! Semper Fi !!

  • @caramelprinze Remember The club at Del Mar, Mainside and El Toro. Good Times ...

  • I thought I was the only one !

  • So beautiful. I miss those days so much.

  • Oh those LOVELY 80's!

  • Pete Rock and Deda sampled this...

  • Fell for a guy listening to this tune back in the day. He was a sweetheart. I will always remember 'parking' and listening to this jam.

  • I believe the lead vocalist in this song was Skip Martin who was also trumpeter for Kool & The Gang .

    He has videos in youtube.

  • @bjcapital Skip Martin started with the Dazz Band as trumpeter and lead singer. He left the band to join Kool & the Gang as their lead singer after James "JT" Taylor left Kool & the Gang to pursue a solo career. Skip later reunited with the Dazz Band.

  • @sherwinfitz Thanks for the info

  • Man, 85 ' back in the day.. The infancy of Hip Hop. I was Stationed at Dyess AFB, Tx. I let my partner Joe" Cool " Craig hear this jam and he had to turn his shorty real quick.. A lost treasure.. AWESOME T

  • I play this over and over daily! I love this song!

  • Me Too. This is why I LOVE youtube so much I can find ANY old school song I want and this one has been on my list for a long time.

  • Thank you so much for posting this song. I have been looking for this FOREVER!!! I always thought this was the SOS Band for some reason. This is one of the best old school songs

  • Yes, Ole School

  • One of the all-time great ballads...wonderful voice on the lead singer.

  • DIS SONG IS BOMD AND IM 18 YEARS OLD

  • Puzzling to me why this track did not attain the status of other legendary love tracks. To me, this is the quintessential love track.

Thank you so much for making it available to listen to.
