  • oh god, I'm having a seizure... YEAH

  • So much better than the studio version.

  • planet xerox

  • I was there. About 8 rows back.it was a life changing experience. Absolutely incredible. The whole set was like nothing Ive seen before or since. Phenomenal.

  • A great scene where they are playing this song for Telly the alien in the novel, "Mission of the Sacred Heart."

  • every time i hear this song i tear up, it makes me that emotional. What a powerful piece

  • 4:08

    er....

  • and the reports coming in for radiohead live at glastonbury say that it is.......... TOTALLY OFF THE HOOK!

  • I just can't find a live performance of this song that Thom's vocals even come close to matching the studio version.

  • @SkyFortStudios which is a bit odd, considering the studio version was recorded in one take by a totally wasted Thom, lying on the floor while singing! x) (or so the story goes). But I suppose he's probably had a few beers here as well, I know I would if playing on the main stage of freakin' Glastonbury!

  • @SimVik91 no shit? wow had no idea. I bet it was tough for sure. that studio version is one of the most amazing vocals and band performances ive ever heard in a song.

  • @SimVik91 wow really? The studio version sounds so relaxed and effortless. The beer probably helped lol

  • Shit I could have sworn J Greenwood was Richard Ashcroft there for a sec.

  • Its like the greatest song ever times 50.

  • Wow, Thom's voice just goes through me... In a brilliant way. Its beyond me how they manage to be get to this level of amazing in so many ways. Radiohead never even put a foot wrong. Is like they have a midas touch... someone should bottle that and sell it on e-bay for loads of money. I'd buy it. :)

  • @MsCalmbeforethestorm they're mozart to everyones salieri. pure talent,originality,magic

  • Search this for the whole concert: jxHVQOfksM0

  • This performance is amazing for so many reasons. "Planet Telex" is one of my favorite songs and should be played most often. The lyric: "I'm in ruins, but I'll stand" exemplify a relationship I had several years ago and ... "why can't you forget(?) ... why can't we forget(?) ..." Tops it all off. The songs mean something (different) to everyone, but they remain masterpieces in themselves. Great performance, all around!!

  • How apt the line "everything is broken" turned out to be that night. Fuckin savage performance though.

  • Absolutely phenomenal playing,

    Outstanding.

  • This was an amazing show. The band's monitor speakers weren't working. and they still pulled it off.

  • 66,00 viewers. No dislikes. <3

  • i have to see them live........

  • my God their just beyond waow their is not one song i don't love man radiohead is just incredible!!

Im just glad I was born in this time in life so i can experience them live 4 times hopefully they be many many more times!!

  • i wounder if they will ever go to glasto again, that would be so fucking good!!

  • I thought they were rumored for 2010?? Anyway, even if it happens, tickets have sold out already. :(

  • really!!! i havent heard the rumours, i fuckin hope so cause i gots me a ticket!! yeehaa! you just made my morning!

  • Lol you youtube argument-guys never seem to end. I think im gonna shut of the comment function from now on:)

  • If only i could put 10 stars !!!

  • if only i could put 100 stars

  • Guys look up 'dan le sac vs scroobius pip letter from god' great song, samples Planet telex to great effect

  • I love how thom always says 'thank you' at the end of all songs.

  • the coachella performance is amazing too, esp when jonny uses his guitar for the intro.

  • Seriously.... its 2009 and you're stil discussing Radiohead.... sweet!

  • lol im only starting to get into these guys this music is timless

  • right on man so true

  • this song is pure emotion

  • GREENWOOD!!!!!!!!!

  • MAN DA BASS IS BIG ON DIS TUNE

  • planet idiot lololol

  • wow, you're so fucking witty, swapping telex for idiot, you should be a comedian... idiot.

  • well its good to know you're mentally capable to understand what happened

  • The last night of the fair

    By the big wheel generator

    A boy is stabbed

    And his money is grabbed

And the air hangs heavy like a dulling wine

  • man i wrote such a long reply then deleted it by accident:(

  • shoot you can ctrl+z to undo and everything comes back

  • There are many great things about this song. Firstly it's the glastonbury performance where everythin fucks up but they put on a clinic. secondly the bass is awesome throughout, thom yorke is on fire, the lighting is awesome, they all look right on the mainstage, the guitars all each have there own role, the keyboard is used to great effect, each segment of the song is never too long or short, always lyrically great and never focused on 1 member of the band, its a big team performance if you like.

  • yeh it sounds kinda different now that you pointed the the bass out and i like the keyboard intro because i heard it first on "beat that my heart skipped" by dan le sac vs. scroobius pip and i didnt know they sampled it

  • IVe tried to find but never can why radiohead hated this performance and america after ok computer can you enlighten me please lol?

  • this was one of there first performances of there epicly over long tour where they were told they were the greatest people ever and couldn't really handle the sudden fame/pressure. I think. and the reason that glastonbury 97 is so well remembered is cos all the speakers blew up and they couldn't here themselves a lot of the time.

  • mm kay thanks!

  • If you dont get it you dont get it.

You said it yourself - music is subjective and open for interpretation , some people like the song some don't. I could bore you to tears trying to say why i like this song , using really long words and metaphorical contrasts to embelish its artistic merits....

    ... but dont worry - i won't.

  • This shit just got real.

  • The bomb has dropped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my favourite live version of planet telex, its so exciting

  • the vid quality is shitty but its sounds raw as fuck class tune

  • everything is fucked. the world is fucked. we are all fucked. we are all broken

  • They thrashed this one out- I like how the chorus rocks harder than the studio version. That said, the album cut has been my favorite song for a while now

  • What's the song about, and what's the meaning of the name?

  • Im not sure what the songs about, but i know that they wanted to name it planet xerox, but had to change it to telex because of copyrights. Im guessing it has something to do with corporate take over or something, or broken copying machines.

  • G.I.G. = Greenwood Is God

  • Yup.Colin Greenwood is pretty cool :P

  • #1 radiohead song imo. SO HEAVY.

  • jonny greenwood is sick. the whole band is like some new form of energy. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

  • "like some new form of energy". that's eloquent man! kudos to u. but yeah theyre fuckin incredible. like to think the song is about not being able to escape the past myself. u know - "why can't you forget?" and planet "xerox"? but then i tend to read a lot into things. my antenna is the cause of my dilemma, tee hee...

  • o the lights, the lights!

  • This is this the point in time when "studio album" is surpassed .. Greenwood is GOD!!!

  • they played this in dublin last month, best song of night

  • so its gay to hug people now? grow up.

  • @thetimewontlast how on earth is it gay, everyones got emotions, just some people show them more then others. obvisiliy u dont lol :)

  • Comment removed

  • Heh. This is an awesome song. I just read This song was recorded when thom was drunk. I think that might be a little funny.

  • Its difficult to explain how special this evening was, afterwards I met with my friends near the stage and we all just started hugging one another...

  • why?

  • LOL! ur like why ahahahhaha funny ya why...

  • Gay? Hugging friends? man you need to lighten up or just start allowing yourself to act how you feel instead of worrying about what people think.

  • @gingerburney what does hugginh have to with being gay?

you're right not everything is gay

  • would'nt do to be epileptic now, would it?

  • hell you think that's bad you should've see NIN last tour. Seizure fest man o_O

  • NIN suck period. they ware waaaaaaaaay overrated.

  • i LOVE this song!!!

they rarely play it nowadays though...

  • Just Great.... man.. those lights could have given an attack... yeahhh

  • this is absolutely phenomenal. the strobes! if they drop this in june in manchester, i'd die happy.

  • June 9th Malahide castle!!! WOOOOOOO HOOOOOO baby yeah....

  • im listening to this very nicely baked. :)

  • yeah and its fucking awesome hahaha

  • Colin Greenwood is the unacknowledged member of the band. i was there too...about a hundred rows back !!! = )

  • after 10 years, they don't seem to have lost their energy on stage.

    Which is really something!

  • everything is broken..everyone is broken

  • wow the ending is unbelievable.

    amazing.

  • 'everything is broken,

    everyone is broken.'

one of my favourite radiohead choruses ever :D

  • ah, i was there, three rows back from the front.

    best. gig. ever.

  • agreed, never been topped yet

  • Putain ! c'est tellement puissant, wouaaaa

  • it's sad to see you guys comparing their albums.

none of their albums is dissapointing. it's best tho if you can keep up and take it into a higher and higher level of appretiation as their music grows.

  • Sometimes Thom reminds me of Ian Curtis... pity Ian couldn't be up their singing with all those flashing lights.

  • "everything is...broken.

    everyone is...broken..."

  • Ilike when thom's smiling...

  • It really depends what sort of music you like best. Every album differs so much that it's impossible to say that any one is the absolute best and not be contradicted by anyone else.

And by the way, amazing performance, great song.

  • so this pretty much caused me to orgasm

  • all their stuff is great, newer or older. anything they play live stomps, some of their recorded stuff doesn't. for instance How To Disappear is amazing live, flat recorded.

they could play 5 hours different material for me and not get dull. jonny is just awesome, especially in this gig on the older tunes - inspired.

  • I agree that you can't compare Kid A or Amnesiac to The Bends, but that's only because they are such different albums in terms of style, genre, etc. I don't think that The Bends is shit, I actually think it's really good, it's just different.

  • i'm glad i don't have epillepsy.

  • as much as I absolutely love the bends and ok computer, if I were asked to draw up my dream live setlist, it would mostly consist of songs from kid a onwards. reading the comments here, I find it a shame that people don't appreciate the newer stuff. people need to accept that radiohead are a brave band that will never stick to the same formula. I love all their work equally. incredible band with an expansive sound.

  • It´s a pity Radiohead music changed so much after Ok Computer. The bends and Ok Computer are absolute masterpieces. What they did after is not really bad, but I can´t stop thinking about the music they could have delivered

  • Well i've heard that Hail to the Theif is up there with the Bends and OK Computer as well.

I bought the Bends and OK Computer on the same day.... I was blown away by the Bends... utter excellence.. but theres only two describe OK computer - Absolutely phenomenal.

    Best album ever made.

  • noo.believe me.i wish hail to the thief was up there, but it´s not.have u ever been to a radiohead concert?i was in 3.2001,2002 and 2003.Every year they play less songs from ok and the bends, and those are the most appreciated songs in every concert. But there are still fans going mad with their new material.i think we´ll never have "our" radiohead back

  • No ive never been to a concert, but Would kill to see them, really would

Thats quite disappointing to hear that they drop OK and Bends songs, which as you say are definetly the most appreciated.

I do like the newer stuff, dont get me wrong, but nothing will ever compare to OK and the Bends

OK Computer ,I think, is the best album released EVER, Bar None.. and I would love to hear alot of those tracks if I seen them Live

  • WTF?? The Bends is THE BEST Radiohead's album, together with OK Computer.

  • you are wrong

  • YEP RIGHT THERE MATE

  • radiohead-head dot tk... links

  • i need something to wipe my tears from crying. FUCKING AMAZING!!!

  • Caulfield...Johnny Depp does play guitar...infact he played a part on one of Oasis' older albums

  • Thats actually fact...

  • radiohead and glastonbury - a potent combination. awesome.

  • Yes,they used to use guitars.I nearly forgot during Kid A and Amnesiac times.Nevertheless this were two gigantic records.

  • Radiohead is Different, their genre is Radiohead Music. Great Band, unique.

  • I'd go with the recent Coachella version! After playing this song a thousand times, they close with it and sound hyped to play it! Now for that live version of "In Limbo" I've been waiting for...

  • Dude this is the best version of this song on the internet right now. Simply breathtaking.

  • i agree, thom is the greatest frontman in the world

  • Jonny Greenwood is a sexy motherfucker...he strikes me as a kind of Johnny Depp with a guitar, and they don't get much sexier than that.

  • This is Glastonbury not Bonnaroo

  • What? I´m afraid I don´t understand...

  • Bonnaroo=Radiohead!!! and OTHERS! SO CLOSE!!!
