Well, it's meant to be effective range, not the range of the bullets, but the range of how much damage is dealt. Basically it's the same thing.

Anybody else notice that with a suppressor it can not fire as fast and it locks up much more often? Same goes for the FAL - very irritating. You could destroy a group of enemies on a regular basis if these guns worked properly with a suppressor on this game.

Without suppressor the first guy you killed has already been spawned nice and close to you and he, along with a mini-map red-dot chasing buddy, are shooting you from behind 15-20 seconds later.

Love this gun!In my opinion, this is by far the best Semi auto AR not only in Black Ops but in the Whole series.(And I´m playing COD since United Offensive)I like the sights, I like the recoil pattern and M14 Grip rapes Michelle Obama!CQC with this...well... you either have to be a fast trigger shooter or have a pistol as secondary.

ive got 3 suggestions with the m14

1-m14 grip- a good aggressive role that has high power with a good triger finger

2-acog- with sleight of hand the faster ads time is really helpful at up close engagements while being able to kill at range

3- this is probably my favorite defensive class for demolition, sabotage, or domination. m14 grip and acog. the slower ads sucks but the grip stabalizes the acog even more so you can fight at even longer range

I really enjoy Masterkey on M14 or FAL. It's effective, and it's an attachment! I like it, because it suits these weapons well. You can quickly change to masterkey in short range.
