  • One of the first yet unrecognised muscle cars. They were killer fast. I hope you have this on the Jet Thrust Registy. They are trying to keep track of all known surviving or destroyed R1 and R2 Studebakers. Good luck with this car!

  • It said lark right on the front fender.

  • Nice Studebaker, but does it actually say "lark" on the car in any place? Because if it is a 63 you would have a Studebaker Cruiser not a "Lark" they dropped the Lark name for the Cruiser. I have a 1963 Studebaker Cruiser in the same color but 4 door. Nice car do some research on it though

  • I am in love with this car! What a sleeper!!

    Congratulations on a fine build.

  • @drpreposterous1 I really liked this car too. But I made alot of money selling it. So I guess I still love it!

  • Sweet,

That lark moves quick without spining the tires at first. Has great brakes too!

I'm looking to get a 51 Commander with the 232 V8. It may be a while before I get one though.

  • @EmersonCollie Yeah, Twin Traction'll do that for ya, and Studebaker was the first US manufacturer to offer modern caliper-type disc brakes as an option on every model. I think the ultimate sleeper would be a full-package "super" '63 Standard Wagonaire with the R-2 engine.

  • @5610winston The new owner is about done with the frame off resoration. It is currently pushing 500 h.p. I am waitng for some pictures of the completed car.
