Gotta say, not digging the theme. No offense, it's good but something's been bugging me about the theme.

It seems Mazinger is trying to embrace a very heavy metal motif instead of relying on simply being the grandfather of mecha anime. And somehow it's working really well.

Yeah Mazinger manga is REALLY dark. I kinda hate the fact that koji's cooking skill is cut in almost every adaptation. This one is really awesome though

@RyoSaebaAGK  Actually Mazinger has always been dark, at least where the manga is concerned.

This isn't meant to be anything more than a reimagining of Mazinger, but with far more violence and stylistic fighting. It's far from emo as well, it's just badass and awesome for 90 minutes. That's all it's supposed to be.

@kinzokusama I think Go just wanted to go with a different direction with the mazinger series i mean yeah hes already done mazinger then great mazinger then the cannon final mazinkaiser which i honestly thought the ova could not be better as the ending was intense as fuck. I'll be honest the movie could of been better as it seemed a little tame in comparison to the ova which i really enjoyed.

i have been watching shin mazinger and it seems overall much darker, in one ep mazinger actually becomes a demon monster after a power overload.

Anyway after i finish that ill be watching this, the fact it dosent have kouji as the pilot sort of messed with me but then after a little more into it you realise the series is takeing place either thousands of years after the mazinger series or in a new universe.

Aslong as they dont make mazinkaiser into a pussy im happy.

@twinturboteen18 People mistaken a lot of Shin scene to be original, while its actualy taken from the original Manga. Original manga is really bloody though.

As for the power, i know SKL is cool and all, but considering its shown full power is currently in the Nostalgia form(self made fan name, for the classic moves SKL), Original Kaiser in full power is far more crazy in comparison

@deathmonger12 Person who created Mazinger created Devilman, created Steel Jeag, and cocreated Getter Robo. This is only a small portion of what Go Nagai created. Mazinkaiser SKL is a spin off of Mazinkaiser, the upgraded version of Mazinger Z. So they both stem from the same brain.

@animeking1357 this is nothing like the original. This variation mazinkaiser is used by the duo of the skull team. they are to try and save the world within 66 hours. Also, most of mazinkaiser's features have changed, such as it taking on the more demonic look, and it needing 2 pilots to be piloted instead of one. it also uses a skull rider to be piloted.
