nah it's just his guitar is too low on volume and can't be heared clearly.just check the last riff you can hear jeff's guitar clearly playing his riff on top of the normal riff which they play in the epilogue but not steve playing the main heavy riff.

on the solo he used his boost but as he was low on volume he could hardly be heard and sounded like he screwed up.shit happens =)

oh and warrel wasn't bored,it's just his style.

Not really, for down tuning he is most likely using the lowest 4 strings on a five string set and adjusting his action to compensate that. Wouldn't hurt the bass at all. Some people play 4 because they like the way it feels 5 string basses will have a larger neck and most the time longer scale

i understand that my objection is that i believe you should freely be able to adjust an instrument to most standards like go from drop c to standard e you would just need lighter strings however on the bass he would have to adjust the nut so as to accomodate much larger strings so it can only fit heavy strings

I love Dream Theater brother! Mike Portnoy is one of my single biggest hero's as a drummer. Myung, Petrucci, and Rudess, are all absolutely mind blowing too! I'm not a HUGE Labrie fan, I do like his voice a lot, but I find that nowadays he has some trouble hitting of his higher notes. I still respect him a hell of a lot, he's a better singer than I'll ever be, but his voice is fading. And how could it not? He's been singing tough vocal styles for more than a decade now.
