  • yeah i'm in arcade fire. what do you play? the xylophone of course

  • @AllLolz and bass drum!

  • damn it arcade fire must come to australia

  • Best multi-talented band to come out of Canada.

Oh, and my fella really fancies the girl...I think she's proper fit n'all! ;o)) <3 xx

  • At the start you can hear Pendulum playing in the tent in the background. I hope the people watching them were enjoying their boring Drum And Bass with an annoying frontman using tired "work the crowd" cliches, and a drummer who can only play one type of beat, because they're not even in the same ballpark as Arcade Fire when it comes to songwriting, musical talent or the ability to put on one hell of a performance.

  • @devtherevLS

    Spot on! xxx

  • 3:18 there is only a way to play xylophone, and he knows how to do it

  • Best 12 minutes you'll ever spend on youtube.

  • I love how at 5:44, Win swings his guitar, and it's like, the key for the lights to go crazy while they rock out. xD

  • Love the emotion at 11:35 when he loses his drumstick and just continues to beat the hell out of the drum with his hand!!!

  • They so put their everything into this and everything they do.They are brilliant.

  • 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. BOOOMM!!

hah ill never get tired of watching wills gloc skills..

  • it's like these songs were made to go together. awesome

  • Wish I could go back in time and watch this concert live over and over and over again.

  • Best live performance I've ever seen. So lucky to be there!

  • this performance made me realize how much i fucking love this band

  • @kratos amen!

  • I constantly get goosebumps every time I see this.. wish I'd been there

  • 8:52 says it all...

  • One of the things that make Arcade Fire the best band in the world right now is that they can make playing any instrument extra cool and rock the shit out of it.

  • that bass in power out is perfection

  • watch the drummers face change from 00:18 (man this is fun) to 00:20 (GET TO DA CHOPPAAAA)

  • Comment removed

  • I would've died of bliss if I was there...

  • Since 5:44... Rock & Roll

  • @codeofethics44e

    That's kind of a LIE x)

  • Comment removed

  • oh god THEY ROCK HARD¡¡¡

  • I would be very genuinely interested in meeting the 5 people who pressed "dislike" on this this.

  • @waxwingcrash No you wouldn't. Life's too short.

  • AF is simply just badass!..and i'm a hiphop fan..good music is good music.

  • sends shivers down my spine & raises the hairs on my arms every time i watch this, especially for the most part of rebellion, so good

  • that is how you play the glockenspiel like a man

  • that transition was FCKN AMAZING!!

  • "So mannered, ONE TWO THREE FOUR!"

  • 5:44 - 5:50 is the coolest shot in the history of indie rock.

  • @howardmoon1234 i agree!!!!

  • @howardmoon1234 pretty damn amazing alright!!

  • @howardmoon1234 Actually, you're wrong. Every shot that contains Will Butler playing the glockenspiel is tied for first. Use 3:17, 3:22, or 3:29 for reference.

  • @howardmoon1234 I'd like to nominate 4:24 - 4:30. Seeing Will go from joking about to deadly serious is incredible.

  • Power out gives me a seizure almost everytime I listen to it, and its the best effing seizure ever.

  • Thumbs up for Tim Kingsbury, the 'quiet one' who shreds the fuck out of that bass in these songs!

  • this song is ... awesome, what a powerful, original song, exceptionnal band.

    Long life to Arcade Fire.

  • Just try and tell me 5:43 doesn't look fucking amazing

    I dare you

Also, Will Butler is my idol

  • I was at Leeds Festival 2010, and when Power Out kicked in... with the lights, and the music... it was one of the best live music moments of my entire life. There's just something about Arcade Fire live - I went into that show a casual fan, and came out of it in love with them.

  • @goriasxy exact same thing happenned to me, went to see them as I knew a couple of songs. They are now one of my favourite bands!

  • @codeofethics44e wake up is not a song, it's a masterpiece!!

  • @CrovaxPT agreed. one of the best songs ever in my opinion!

  • I'm kinda bummed that the piano has a little too much delay on an otherwise flawless concert

  • When the bass line started to Rebellion (Lies), I actually started jizzing myself. They were fantastic.

  • @TheRoflchoppah - I know, freakin' looks cool

  • Arcade Fire are stealing the show of everyone, when they play on a festival!! It's awesome, but at Hurricane they played Friday, way to early!

  • @Sitzlaolabar - Awesomeness has no time!

  • 3:13 EPIC GLOCKENSPIEL SOLO >:D

  • they ar so fucking good

  • You know what the best thing about Arcade Fire is, apart from being the best thing that's happened to music since the Beetles... They absolutely love what they do. Look how much fun they're having. So fuckn awesome.

  • @snotsthepig Totally agree. I said that before they "made it" if you know what I mean. No one else like them and so talented.

  • Their performance is so beyond perfection that it gives me Goosebumps

  • Audio orgasm

  • See you 27. august in Denmark, cant wait....!!!

  • Arcade Fire is the real thing no lies there.

  • I love the crowd continuing the song when they leave :P

  • pure ecstasy!

  • This is one of the best things on Youtube for me.

  • How do kittens stuck in a jar have more hits than this??

  • LOL PENDULUM

  • The best band of our time without a doubt, people literally stand in awe watching them. Arcade Fire play with passion, Kings of Leon play like its a chore thats the difference...

  • Wait what the fuck? i like arcade fire and kings of leon, whats wrong with that?

  • @Ibangedmatt Kings of Leon hasn't produced one good album. They were better doing their Blues-Rock stuff, until unfortunately they sold out. Arcade Fire has made 3 great albums, including 1 masterpiece. Not many modern bands can match Arcade Fire's songwriting, orchestration, and instrumentation. Truly, they're one of the greatest bands of this generation.

  • @thetimewontlast I believe I have to disagree with a portion of your statement. All their albums are masterpieces! Funeral, Neon Bible, The Suburbs. <3

  • @thetimewontlast as much as I agree with the Arcade Fire bit, it is incredibly naive to say that the Kings haven't released a single good album; all of them have been well received, with Only By The Night selling massively in the UK; Arcade Fire trounce them with relative ease but Kings of Leon have made very good albums with some very good songs.

  • awesome

  • I can't believe the amount of people that went to see pendulum instead of this...those people missed out big time. what.a.performance.

  • When I first saw the lineup, I borrowed the first two albums...listened to Neon Bible and just didn't like it (still not a fan of it now tbh) so didn't even try Funeral...and decided to see Pendulum in the NME tent instead. When they finished I came out and saw Arcade Fire were still playing so thought what the hell I'll go listen, can't be much longer...and was there in time to see Rebellion.

I couldn't hate myself more for not seeing what would have been one of the greatest shows of my life.

  • @TheZMeister I was in a bit of a daze after Libertines and thought Pendulum were playing main stage. Saw this instead by accident. Best accident ever!

  • This has to be the best video I've ever watched on YouTube.

  • @MyNameIsMickles watch wake up live in this concert...I cried the first time I saw it

  • Power Out is my favourite live song ever.

  • exorcism necessary at 9:24

  • What a xylophone MONSTER!

  • @NoelKilledZombie IT'S A GLOCKENSPIEL.

Xylophone is made of wood. It's a very common mistake to make, and it annoys me how people mix the two up.

  • @manufan1999 Thanks for letting me know. I'll be sure to get it right next time. We learn something new every day, right?

  • Win told us Rebellion was the last song....LIES, LIES!

  • These are without a doubt, in my mind, the greatest band alive. They're in it solely for the music, which is second too none. Goosebumps whenever I watch them live or via a computer screen...Only Arcade Fire could do that <3

  • Always makes me smile when you can hear the crowd screaming 'LIES, LIES' during the first chorus when they're not actually there

  • 8 minutes 54 seconds ====== FIT

  • Voted the Best live band in the world EVER

  • THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!! i was there and now i'm starting to cry to not being there now!!!

  • @minisornabox hahahaaa i was there and it was fucking incredible. and do you know what was even better? seeing them at the o2 a few months later. and do you know what was almost as good as that? seeing them at reading 07 and at ally pally in 07. and do you know what'll be better than that? SEEING THEM HEADLINE HYDE PARK IN A MONTH :D

  • @yeahacoustic Stop making me jealous ! :)

  • @yeahacoustic , i`ll better that,, glasgow barrowlands when win butler jumped off stage and walked through the crowd to get to the exit and he put both hands on my shoulders and asked me( politely) to move,,,,he ASKED me to move,,, he could have shouted for me to get the f*** out his way and i would gladdly do it,,,, the man is a genius...........

  • SICK!

  • Perfection has a name. It comes from Canada and its name is Arcade Fire.

  • will's mad, at Dublin he split his lip with the drumstick and kept going! Blood everywhere! Was great :D

  • how the hell has anyone disliked this crazy must be a mistake

  • BONNAROO!

  • holy shit I'm so looking forward to this

  • This has the most intense song transition I've ever heard in my life.

  • 30,000 people screaming "LIES LIES" will stay with me forever. amazing.

  • I better get tickets this year. Chicago 2011 show sold out in less than an hour, and they felt bad alot of people were upet so they put up a second night show, and that sold out in 40 minutes! !!!!!!!!!

  • @step2191 And now they have a 3rd show that will sell out!

  • @step2191 I went to see them in Chicago! Was a fantastic show, as expected. I mean all of their shows are fantastic.

  • 8.54 NICE!!!

  • haha you can hear Pendulum faintly at the start.

  • @TheNeonBlues no he wasn't. In NME he said how good the crowd was and how well the show went unlike the Leeds show which was apparently a tough gig. And also the only band that got a shit crowd the whole weekend was G'n'R and that's because they were worse than gang rape.

  • @alexmarshall9 Yeah I was at Leeds... we weren't a good crowd. It was literally 1 or 2 degrees, and everyone except for about 10,000 of us buggered off to Pendulum straight after Libertines. My mate got into the arena just before AF came on and managed to the front with me after about a minutes jostling.

Didn't stop it being the highlight of my weekend, but I can understand why Win was unhappy. He tried to motivate us before Power Out and it just didn't work :(

  • and the goose bumps just won't go away...

  • 11:35 I DON'T NEED A FUCKING DRUMSTICK, I'LL FUCKING USE MY HAND

  • @antonloses1 Seriously, Will does not ever eff around.

  • @antonloses1 ,,, that has to be the ultimate in geniusness,,, will butler is amizin (mad) but amizin....

  • @antonloses1 BAHAHAHAHA! <3 Will Butler!

  • Comment removed

  • @antonloses1 CORRECT

    \

  • I have dreams of being at their concert and being asked to join them on stage to perform for the audience. Arcade Fire has recharged my passion and love for music!

  • "Reading most polite of the festivals so mannered" seriously?

clearly Win has NOT been on a walk around the campsite haha

  • @alexmarshall9 He was saying, politely as he could, how shit the crowd at Reading actually is.

  • Comment removed

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH

    MENTAL,

    PURE MENTAL

  • So mannered........1! 2! 3! 4!

  • why would anyone actually dislike this??

  • if this can't provoke some sort of emotion towards yourself, well then you have no soul. this. and radiohead = the two most relevant bands of my generation, and i'm sure many others too.

  • @alexgillespie Yes.

  • the transition between the songs is insane.

  • Aww...Régine at 3:55 :)

  • @ukey111 you're right. i do apologize.

  • Yeah i cant believe all 3 of those bands made that list down there , laughable really when compared to the TRUE greats in music , U2 is SOOOOOO OVERRATED its ridiculous and lets not even get me started on how bad MUSE is ... Win's pubes have more musical talent than all the members of MUSE combined. Lead singer for muse forgot he isnt in the Radiohead cover band anymore and continues to wish he was Thom.. LONG LIVE MILES DAVIS!!

  • love it at 11:36 where will throws away the drum stick

  • @8idl I think he lost his drum stick on a hard hit.

  • @SaisandMileena well either way it's pretty badass, no?

  • @8idl lol yeah it was.

  • saw them in glasgow on sunday night and they surpassed all my expectations. Best live band in the world PERIOD. Muse, U2, kasabian etc can't touch this.

  • 1 Dislike ,Just 1

  • watched this today about 20 times...

  • The transition into Rebellion is possibly the best moment of live music that I've ever seen. I've seen well over 500 bands live and I can't think of a better live act at the moment.

  • this is epic

  • Dizzee Rascal into Libertines into this. Probably the best few hours of my life!

  • who in their right mind would have chosen pendulum over these!?

  • It was good pretty much from when I pressed that play button.

  • I will never forgive my friends for missing this performance at leeds.

  • Such an incredible moment, experiencing this at Reading.

You cannot fault the enthusiasm of those percussionists, haha!

  • probably the best video on Youtube since Wake up with Bowie.

  • 0 DISLIKES

  • Sarah and Marika, looking forward to seeing you 2 beauties on 2nd December. Love u both. xxxx

  • @mrdclayton

    what about REGINEEEEEEEEEEE

  • @starstruckstarfuck I couldn't handle all 3 of them. anyway Win might beat me up , cos he's bigger than me.

  • @starstruckstarfuck I agree! She's not a conventionally good looking but she has presence and is attractive, talented and married to Win!! Lucky girl

  • Arcade Fire are the only band to match Radiohead at the moment.

  • @23lFrench Completely agree, but radiohead still slightly ahead. my 2 fav bands.

  • @kev22990 Yeah same

  • lmao i have gooose bumps like u wudnt believe!!!! around @7:00 to about @7:30 is the most amazing trastion from 1 song to another ever in the history of music....

  • Put off Going to A + E for this!

    Best decision ever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • absolute face-melters!

  • Was right at the front for this, best night of my life.

  • This is why i laugh at people when they say kesha is a musician.

  • 12 minutes that Kings of Leon will never match

  • Best set I've ever seen.even better than muse at Glastonbury . Power out then into rebellion omg

  • Please..Come to Denmark

  • @7031sorensen ja det ville være fint :)

  • haha me getting a bit too into the music at 1:28 .... and 9:47. AF are the only reason I went to Reading! amaaaaazin.

  • Three times seeing them over the summer was not enough.

  • Comment removed

  • @snappypappy1871 sorry to rain on your parade...its actually a glockenspiel...possibly a vibraphone...sorry

  • Simply the best live band I've ever seen. I was at Reading's sister festival at Leeds & it's definitely up there with some of the greatest moments of my life. Permanent goosebumps through out! If you get a chance to see these live make sure you do - you will never forget or regret it.

  • I was there- it was literally awe-inspiring :)
