  • Nice song.

  • It's ok but saint etienne were always a band where some songs were like 70% of good, but never great. I love this song, but it wasn;t meant to be a hit, they made so many bad shit songs as well they really didn't have a chance to be successful

  • I remenbered some (very) early stuff, what a shite this is!

  • Ere, if the character in the song is her little sister, why is she black ?

  • Pour toi ma petite Sylvie !

    Philou

  • mourinho was in the right way...why?why?....why one of the betters groups are forgiven?

  • I love Good Humor and got the double CD (in America) with Farifax High. It's great and plenty of us on the west side of the Atlantic love them too! Can't we all just get along.

  • @paganklh1 Jeez, dude... quit being so damned narcissistic! There's a little somethin' for everyone out there. You have your taste, and I have mine... she has her's, he/his. Get over yourself!!!

  • @paganklh1 One word for you TW@T

  • One of my favorites by St. Etienne

  • @paganklh1 Oh well, something for everyone. Honestly, I don't get why people even bother commenting on something they don't like. If ya don't like a thing... then just go "whatever", and walk away from it, right? Complaining is annoying. Criticism is good, but only when it's constructive. Otherwise, put a sock in it. No offense. Just a little constructive criticism. :)

  • @ohthehughmanatee if you don't want to be criticism then make better music. Or better still stop posting garbage.

  • @paganklh1 Sorry, but your critical leaves YOU wide open to be criticismed.

..and by the way, thank you for exemplifying my point. I'm also flattered that you seem to think that this is my band. ...and Garbage was a good band, too. Wonder whatever happened to them.

  • @ohthehughmanatee hey, Garbage are back!! :D

  • @paganklh1 Karma eats your soul. Beware.

  • @paganklh1 you listen to system of a down for god's sake.

  • interesting.

  • i really like it but i cant help not paying attention to it. its like an exceptional porn soundtrack.

  • Great song, weak negative video. Visuals should be more positive for this group. They have been underrated because they are about the music and not sellout models who are musically untalented like most pop artists who succeed in the mainstream.

  • I love this song. The video's not very interesting.

  • the best!!!!!!

  • the first decent album i ever bought was good humour by saint etienne was and still is amazing

  • i didnt even know this music existed

  • my cat is named after this song :D

  • Does someone understand the story in this video (the handkerchief and the bag stuffs) ?

And once again, who's this bearded man ?

  • Love this song. Thanks for uploading the video!

  • このプロモ初めて見た。名曲だよな。

It's my first time to see this V.

    Marvellous isn't it?

  • @KAORIMOKO

Yes and the whole album is ("Good Humor") - should be listed to from start to end in one piece....and then again...and again... ;-) My favourite St. Etienne record, recommend it.

  • i love it when she says she'll have to shut you down to Sylvie

  • this was the first song i bought when i started working when i was 17 and it blew me away and ended up buying the album (good humour) and been a fan since like a couple of people have said a very underrated band

  • Não entendo como este grupo não é reconhecido como dos melhores de sempre - I do not understand how this group is not recognized as the best ever -

  • I LOVE SAINT ETIENNE!!

  • The very trancey Stretch 'n' Vern Mix of this song is spectacular!

  • wtf is this blasphemus doo doo :P:P !!!

I saw the title ..and that was the name of a person I used to "date" ish kinda and my name is Sylvie..:P sheesh:D the peeerveeerzsiiiionz:D:D arhhhh

  • Nice :)

  • stupid woman

  • Cuba?

  • I <3 Sarah Cracknell.

  • next time play only love can break your heart or he's on the phone LOL

  • If you mean frequent light tone mismatches and an impression that the woman is emotionally excited, then it was always this way. But sure I would not say it makes the singing "bad" - with her beautiful voice and articulation it just makes it sound natural and urge.

  • really awesome. thanx for the uload srarah rules.

had the chance to see them live around '''93 .. one of the 2 background, glitter mini-skirted backup go-go dancers fell on her ass while dancing, sarah turned around briefly, laughed & shrugged, & continued singing w/out missing a beat . . .

  • Isn't there a remix of this somewhere?

  • she's mine

  • What a naff video. Whose the weird guy with the beard, he looks about 40. And how is Sylvie Sarah's sister? Great song, rubbish vid.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow. A studio track by St Etienne that hasn't been pulled off YouTube. It's an endangered species. So many others: POOF! Gone.

  • I got this song from an English penpal back in 1998 or something, I always liked the song, but never saw the video, until just now.

But I don't really get it - the black haired girl does not look like a sister, she looks Thai or something and much older than 17.

While Sarah is blonde and looks nothing like "her little sister" ...

Sarah's role in the video is perfectly fine, but for her sister I would have taken a typical cheerleader, cute, 17, a believable high-school queen ... you know? ...

  • i think the point is how off it is...

  • i think the "sister" theme is being used metaphorically here. they're keeping it intentionally vague, video-wise.

  • I like this video, made in Cuba no doubt

  • Who's the bearded man in the video?

  • @musicsavage

Why, he's The Most Interesting Man In The World, from that beer commercial : )

  • I think I am actually in love with Sarah Cracknell!!

  • Eat your heart out, she's married.

  • ha yeah she is indeed. I shall admire from afar! :)

  • Por esta canción me compré el CD, y no me arrepiento, porque dentro de él está esta genialidad.

    Gracias por el vídeo.

  • very cure, pitty it wasnt a radio hit

  • I've loved this song since the day I bought the "Bad Humour" album in 1998, and I can't tell you how many times I've listened to the track. Yet, this is the first time I've seen the video. Great stuff! Thanks for uploading ;-)

Yes, they had some 90's chart success here in the UK , but they deserved so much more than they ever got. The music-buying folk are a strange bunch...

  • I think Saint Etienne are one of the most underrated groups of all time. Although they had some chart success in the UK in the 90's , they remain largely ignored.

  • @DazedSheep fully agree with you there......... but i think thats the great thing about them.............. a hidden gem =)

  • good humour is in the top 5 of my favorite records of all time. amazing melodies, amazing production & mixing, amazing lyrics which fit the songs perfect.

  • Brilliant song, and brilliant video. Brilliant band!

  • love this song they played it at the end of the last episode of season 4 of daria

  • 'Leave him alone,because he tells me he Love's me.......Over & Over & Over & Over Again'...

    Brilliant Band...Excellent 'Live'

    Lol

  • Video goes great with the song. Kinda reminds me of "Hungry Like The Wolf" but maybe it's the setting.

  • i dont understand the video?

  • :))))))))))

  • Great song from a great group! Was The Bad Photographer relased as single??? I love that one and Im sure I seen it years back when it was released?? Or maybe Im imagining it!! Ace of base have a song very like this called "Donnie" trying to capture this very sound! there another mis understood pop group that make all their own music! Only love can break your heart is also the exact same Chords as All that she wants & similar hooks as their other hit Beautiful life check it out!

  • Bad Photographer was a single and had a video. hopefuly someone will put it up her soon.

  • Cantforgetyou, that's a good question. I've been a huge fan of thier music since the early 90's, and I think it's just that they're too progressive for America's general concensus appeal. They've gained considerable recognition in the charts in the UK and much of Europe. But, historicaly speaking, the progressive formats that most brit-pop arrangements tend to usualy have just don't seem to float well here. It's a shame. Thier style seems to be over the average american's head.

  • @ohthehughmanatee LONG LIVED BRIT POP AND FUCK AMERICA

  • @ohthehughmanatee Pitchfork media adores them though and Sub Pop's boss

  • @ohthehughmanatee Yea..uhhh...I wouldn't say over the average Americans head....this song bites. Remember, just because you like the song, does not necessarily make you sophisticated.

  • @mrubiquitous

In this case it does, average Americans (such as you) bite, and like most things with any degree of subtly this song is indeed over your silly little American head. Just saying...

  • Good song. Why were they never in the charts? Bad record deals? No good promotion? Or do they want to be underground. Cause the songs are very easy listening.

  • Hombre, tío.. muchísimas gracias por subir este video. Saint Etienne is one of the most underrated bands in the world. I love them.

  • Thank you for posting this- the first song to turn me on to Saint Etienne! My flavourite band! Just waiting for a Donovan/Saint Etienne mash-up. A girl can dream!

  • I 've been waiting for this video in youtube for years... For me, It was impossible to understand how it could not be here yet!!!

Thx a lot!! & Kisses from Spain.

    I love this song
