  • He was a little grumpy because Carol wouldnt give in to a hiney poke !

  • his lips seem to say six oclock in the god dam morning. not f**kin morning

  • If he really did swear, then Alice is way tougher than I give her credit for being. She doesn't bat an eye when he cusses at her, lol.

  • WHY DOES EVERYONE ON THE SHOW "WEAR BLUE EYE LINER'? EVEN THE GUYS EVERY SHOW THEY HAVE BLUE EYELINER LOOK AT ALICE AND The DAD

  • I think someone edited that in

  • no he whent to say fucking but he stoped himself (like in real life when people do that)

  • It could have been dubbed due to an audio problem they had, and they decided to change the line. In another show where there's a chart showing the kids and what diseases they've had, Mike says "None of the kids have had distemper" but if you watch his mouth, he clearly originally says "rabies".

  • I know Robert Reed was all for seriousness in the show and loathed the farcical element that developed, but - wow - now I want to netflix the episode and see if that's genuine footage (I suspect it is, and it was cheaper to cut out the audio than to reshoot it...)

  • i think he wanted to say its six oclock in the fuckin morning lol

  • I watched the episode and the word is muted indeed. Maybe it was freaking or frigging.

  • Carol and the girls lived with her parents..When they got married, Carol and the girls moved into Mike's house

  • Alice was my favorite

  • Watch it on mute. He just says, "Alice, it's six o'clock in the morning." Must have been a bad dub.

  • Thinking this this was in the early 70's TV ..... he probably said, "ALICE! IT'S 6 C'LCOK IN THE (DAMN) MORNING!" DAMN was actually considered a bad word also back then. My how Standards have changed over the years!

  • if you click one a bunch of times it looks like carols a zombie haha

  • That's the reason Greg moved to the attic. Also so he could Jack Off in peace.

  • why do people get out of bed and put their dressing gown on... just get outta bed in your jarmies

  • One of the WORST Brady epsiodes ever. Alice and Emma are the BUTCHEST lesbians on TV in the 1960s and 70s. The only redeeming thing about this show is when Mike says, "It's 6:00 in the FUCKING morning!!!""

    FUCKING AWESOME

  • "ALICE, IT'S 6 O'CLOCK IN THE F#@$^%* M ORNING!"

  • not only does he curse Alice eats that whistle for breakfast!!!

  • i heard it

  • i watched this episode today and they really do bleep it out on the dvd!!! it must have sounded like it so they had to remove it.

  • He didn't say Fucking, He Said Flipping!

  • Mike had his own house the house Mike and the boys moved into belonged to Carol and the girls

  • @briabba123 JUST THE OPPOSITE. THE HOUSE THEY ALL LIVED IN WAS HIS. ALICE LIVED THERE AND SO DID ALL THE GUYS IN THE EPISODE WHERE THEY GOT MARRIED. THEN ALL THE GIRLS MOVED IN..

  • he clearly didn't. they wouldn't have used this take if he had

  • judging from bobby's reaction I'd say he swore.

  • its G rated it bitted out ? so yes he swear but you never hear it what says what the h-e-l-l you the rest not in G rate tv show swearing put its in but its bitted out so you don't hear it as for the house they live in i did notice anthing different then it was in a polite eps maybe different furnature or cuturnes or floor cloverings i see in front its or house of some kind not a apperement

  • I think he might have said "It's 6 O clock in the Goddamn mornight" or "damn morning".

  • It looks like the line may have originally included the word "damn." In itself it wasn't a dirty word... it appears in the rated-G Gone With the Wind, after all. But the network's broadcast standards department probably asked for it to be cut from a "family" show.

  • If he had sworn, I feel that some of the actors would've flinched.

  • @benco007 Bobby DID kinda look up at him.

  • Of course Bobby is looking at him. He's the person talking in the scene!

  • If you watch his mouth, he says it's 6 oclock in the "god damn" morning, and they cut the audio part out during GD in the editing room because GD was a very bad thing to say back then.

  • nah..he didn't swear..i saw this episode recently

  • He might have said "It's six o'clock in the fucking morning." But it's filmed in a long shot so it's hard to tell. One thing about Mr. Brady that made NO sense is that he was an architect who designed a house for SIX kids with only TWO bedrooms. Yeah, that's some smart architect, not.

  • @Satchel334 Actually he didn't design it for six kids. Carol and the girls only moved into the house with them after they were married. He only lived there with the 3 boys and Alice before that (and presumably his first wife before she died). The first season or two of the show dealt with a lot of the problems they had after combining the families and in one episode they were even going to sell the house and move because it was too small.

  • @TimmyKennethy Not true. In the first episode they both live in their own houses, and move into the well known house when they marry.

  • @mjwebb27 Actually, THAT'S not true. They changed the look of Mikes house from the pilot episode to the actual series (such changes from a pilot aren't uncommon, especially in older TV series like this one), but when the series got started it was still always treated like Mikes old house where he and the boys had already been living before the wedding. I'm actually watching the series right now from Netflix so all the early episodes are very fresh in my memory, and that's definitely how it was.

  • @TimmyKennethy no it wasnt because in the very first episode when Mike put all those spoonfuls of sugar in his coffee they were living in an apartment as the scene clearly showed and they were not living in the house depicted in all the other episodes. Mike really worked hard to build it in ONE WEEK and move his new family members into it LOL

  • @letsplaycards40 No actually they absolutely weren't living in an apartment. I have no idea where you get that from as the establishing shots clearly show that they were living in a house. You don't seem to understand how TV shows can change from a pilot episode to a series. Especially back then it wasn't at all uncommon for them to make huge changes to a show from the pilot episode to the actual series and then just pretend that nothing had changed at all, and that's exactly what happened here.

  • @TimmyKennethy There is no way you are going to tell me that the pilot and the rest of the series are the SAME place because you are dead ass wrong!! Look at the place in the pilot, the kitchen is about 1/3 the size of the one in the house and the door to the left leading out leads into a hallway which indicates an apartment. I may not be the brightest star in the sky but I am NOT BLIND!

  • @letsplaycards40 Did you even read my comments? I didn't say that it WAS the same place (as in they used the same sets/locations) I said that when the regular show started they TREATED it like it was. Yes it was obviously some random (probably pre-existing) set they used in the pilot, and different house used for the outside establishing shots, and then when they started production on the show they redesigned it all. BUT THE ACTED AS IF THAT NEW DESIGN WAS JUST ALWAYS WHAT MIKES HOUSE WAS LIKE.

  • @letsplaycards40 And you are just simply wrong about the apartment. The establishing shots clearly show that they live in a HOUSE. The very first shot is of Mike walking out of the front door of the house and putting something in the car. If they had intended for them to live in an apartment then they would have used establishing shots of an apartment building NOT a house. And how does the door leading into a hallway "indicate" an apartment? Since when can't a door in a house lead to a hallway?

  • @letsplaycards40 And finally I feel the need to emphasize that in the series itself they never even came close to implying that Mike and the Boys were also moving into the house. They always treated it as if Carol and the girls were moving into with Mike's house. In TV, especially older shows, when going from pilot to actual series it was extremely common for them to make drastic changes to things like set designs, and THEN JUST IGNORE THAT THERE WERE CHANGES. THAT'S WHAT THEY DID HERE.

  • Mike Brady swore once, and that came in an episode when Marcia nominated Mike for Father of the Year. Near the end of the episode, Carol, Alice and the kids were the living room, and the television crew was in the house to do an interview on Mike winning the award, and Mike walked in from the kitchen and said, 'What the hell is going on here?' That's the only time he swore on the show.

  • @joejoewest Hell is blaspheme not swear

  • @KlayyJayy My mistake.

  • They were all just damn lazy if you want to know the truth, I mean six o clock in the morning is when most people get up anyway. Emma had them up and doing exersises that the Presidential thing on Physical Fitness had them doing in school three hours later during PE. Look at the one where they go to the amusement park, the dummys couldn't even run fast or long enough. The Bradys were out of shape.

  • @Sheri451 it was Saturday F*(king morning

  • @s69nme It might be GD, Because on an episode of All In the family, Archie confronts a man that comes to eat Christmas dinner with them. The man was a draft dodger, Archie gets very angry and yells out "I don't want to hear about that GD WAR!" They had to edit out the word with "I don't want to hear about that DAMN STINKING WAR!"

  • Press 4 and decide: I hear him saying "Alice, it's six o'clock in the ____morning." I see him say "Alice, it's six o'clock in the ❏❏ morning" Fill in the blank.

  • Mike never swore, ever. Cindy on the other hand was a complete potty mouth.

  • I am catching "God Damn"

  • This is funny because I was just watching this episode the other night and noticed this. I think he does curse and they had to redub it. Interestingly enough, another episode where they had to redub what he said was the one from season 1 when all the kids were in bed with the measles. He looks at the chart that Alice and Carol made up and said something like, "This one is wrong, none of the kids have had distemper" but if you look at his lips he really says "rabies."

  • wen i saw it on dvd i thought he almost said 'its six oclock in the ****** morning', i think Bob almost said a swear word from this 1971 episode.

  • Yes, I think he says, "Alice, it's f...ng six o'clock in the f...ng morning, so what the f...ck is up with the f...ng whistle?"

  • It was probably just damn?

  • My question is why are they so foreign to the idea of people waking at 6 AM? Mike was an architect who held a nine to five job...the kids probably had to be at school by 8...6 A.M is not that early for a lot of families. Hell, I was awake at 3am this morning for work...

  • YouTube fail.

  • Funny. But considering how the producer treated him, can you really blame him?

If I was out of the closet by age five I'd have a crush on him instead of Alice.

  • @UglySean yeah but think if the millions of fans who regarded him as such a great tv dad only to find out he was a fag boy. He ruined millions of fans lives who looked at him differently and caused much misgivings. Bobby NEEDS to go and get checked

  • did he say god d### morning or fucking morning?

  • He says Damn. The bleep is too short for anything else, anything stronger the cast would have reacted and this is just the type of phrase that would have been edited out. Also, if you insert Damn, his line makes sense given his level of anger.

  • I believe this is true. Robert reed drank heavily on the set and was very beligerant

  • @torpedofish good on you for being proud of yourself and not letting other people force their beliefs onto you

  • ALICE,...YOU'RE FIRED!

  • Listen Peeps, This was intended for the blooper reel... Robert Reed(Mike Brady) Said, "Alice It's 6 O'Clock in the G#d D##m morning

  • It sounds like a laps. Like he started to say "morning" and was cut off and had to say it again. But yeah at first it does sound like he said "fucking".

  • Learning that Mike was gay makes me wanna cry

  • "It's 6 o'clock in the fucking morning" - plain as day.

  • @devtrev

Dumbass - How can something that's not there be 'plain as day'? Even if something were bleeped out, don't you think that it would more likely be 'damn', which would explain the hard 'm' on the word 'morning'? At least you could almost imagine 'damn' being written into that scene, and then taken out later. There's no way that Robert Reed would say 'fucking' where no one reacts to it. Mute it, synch up the line yourself with his lip movements, and it appears that there's NOTHING missing.

  • @reverendflash You spend time analyzing a Brady Bunch episode like it's the Zapruder film and I'M the dumbass? Besides, it was a goddamn joke! Any retard knows the word 'fuck' would get a reaction from a bunch of kids. Get a sense of humor.

  • @devtrev

I can't have a sense of humor about the way pop culture is distorted on YouTube and the rest of the internet: Elvis impersonations credited as real Elvis songs, Tony Sheridan solo tracks being identified as Beatles tunes, Weird Al being blamed for every lame-ass song parody, some fuckhead named Robert Hart saying his band The Jones Gang had a number one hit in Billboard for three months in 2005. political conspiracy theorists - the list goes on. And your unclear 'joke' isn't helping.

  • @reverendflash My joke was abundantly clear, to those with a sense of humor.

  • lol I thought he did too when I saw this episode the other day, I have been watching the series and there are a bunch of things they say, that sounds like swearing, but its the way the talk. My husband and I nearly fell out of our chairs, b/c in one episode Mike says something about Jungle fever.

  • Ellen Degeneres should play Alice for the rest of her life.

  • i honestly think he may have done a silent hiccup. but it wasnt a curse word.

  • Oncee agin....this is not the way it is on the episode. And turn down the volume andread his lips. You can CLEARLY see he is not saying "fucking" or any other word between "the" and "monring"

  • @knickknack07 you need to get your eyes and ears checked cause he says it and you can hear it and with the volume down can easily see it by reading his lips...whats the difference about it anyways, after what he pulled he had no rights even being allowed to be an American citizen

  • What does she mean by white glove test?

  • @StanBennet searching for dust with a white glove ;)

  • @StanBennet Join the army they will let you know what that means.

  • is this real? i think this is as e dit

  • Is Alice gay in real life?

    The dad was gay too.

  • @crossy70 yes..

  • He definitely says FUCKING morning!

  • if you replay Mike saying '' 0'clock in the morning''...rap style... at the 37 second mark it sounds like Mike is saying Fucking morning

  • oh, it's so hysterical how they all go back to bed without even saying anything to Alice and Alice is like "hey, where did you all go?" I wonder if Alice stayed up or went back to bed herself after that. That Alice, she's such a character. lol

  • it looks like he's saying f***ing morning

  • @AFIincarnate don't you ever say anything like that again in the Brady household!

  • He didn't swear, I've seen every episode including this one and trust me, he doesn't. Turn down the volume and watch the video and you can clearly see he doesn't say anything in between. Just a little video editing in the audio and a bunch of gullible people that think everything they see on the internet is true and there you have it!

  • @KingTreeFrog you are so hilarious i cried. I love how you are so knowledgeable about "The Brady Bunch" . reading this after smoking some pot was the best thing that has happened to me all day.

  • @KingTreeFrog you haven't seen every one

  • @randomkylie101 I assure you I have. I grew up on that show. Not only have I seen every episode I've seen every episode numerous times. We have them all on VHS. Even the specials they did later when they were all grown up and the cast was reunited =)

  • @KingTreeFrog I'm extremely sorry. I didn't know. I feel terrible tjhat I was rude. Sorry.

  • @KingTreeFrog WRONG! I clearly hear him say... Alice you fucking hairy bulldyke, what the FUCK are you thinking!?!? You just have to really listen.

  • @teargarden

Good sense of humor. Thanks for being politically correct and irreverent. LMFAO!

  • @KingTreeFrog Amen!

  • @KingTreeFrog I disagree. I actually muted it & watched, it almost looks like he says "f*cking morning", or another 2 syllable word maybe? For the record I've also seen every episode & love the Brady's, so I'm certainly not trying to be critical of the show or anything. =)

  • Comment removed

  • Yes he swears, he said either Damn morning, or G-damn morning get someone who reads lips they will tell you

  • You can see his lips (Oh! Those gorgeous lips, those gorgeous eyes, that body!) move to include the word f***ing. I know it's only acting, but the younger kids were still present on the set to hear him say that. Guess they weren't so innocent after all.

  • Alice...it's six o'clock in the --MORNING

  • About the only show at the time where the married couple slept in the same bed and it turns out the husband was gay. And 3 stepsons sharing a bathroom with 3 stepdaughters...poor Bobby and Cindy couldn't realize why the rest of the kids were so happy most of the time.

  • @MalubaySyecado The husband, Mike, was NOT gay. His portrayer, Robet Reed, was.

  • @MrHamlet64 Exactly! let the fantasy go on!

  • greg and peter on marcia.....

  • @MalubaySyecado and there was no toilet in the bathroom so i dunno where they did their business.

  • ALICE IS A TWEAKER

  • Did you all see the episode where Alice Cooper played Carol Brady's ex-boyfriend? He was in town for a concert, and he came over for dinner and talked about when they went to the high school prom together. Absolutely hysterical. If you haven't watched that one, definitely look it up. The reaction of Mike and the kids is priceless.

  • Nice trick, but I don't think he swore.

  • @Aliendear It's not a trick; it's like this on the actual aired episode.

  • @agoradzwn I think alice was a communist and an infiltrator and designed to bring down the brady family. I remember that crossing my mind in the seventies. So, maybe it's true. Maybe he really did swear.

  • @agoradzwn Actually, I changed my mind. After turning down the volume on the video and watching it again, I AM CONVINCED he did not swear.

  • Alice, fuck you you fucking cunt, it's six o'clock in this fucking lousy piece-of-shit morning

  • its 6 o'clock in the "BLOODY" morning i think is what he said

  • Comment removed

  • ALice it is 6 Oclock in the FUCKING MORNING...What in the FUCK is wrong with you?!?!?!??!

  • Hmm......... I agree with SchlottieRose, I think he may have said "effing". Both the youngest bobby and cindy do look over at him, which might indicate uncertainty, however, in general, nobody's reaction supports any ad libbing, especially swear words.

  • 0:37 Alice, its 6 o'clock in the *#$** morning !!

  • he said "effing" x

  • Well..it was a known fact Bob Reed hated working with kids.

  • @texasghost That's not true. He's gone on record on several occasions about how the only redeeming part of being on a show he hated was the kids. He loved every one of them and they were more than likely the only reason he suffered through the series' duration.

  • lol it sure seems like it!

  • This is silly..please explain to me why they wouldn't RESHOOT the scene! This is not something they would have noticed when it was too late to shoot it over. He simply stumbled over his line and picked it up in time to save the scene.

But as for doubting that he would say that in front of the kids...if you know anything about the show, then you know Robert Reed WOULD say that in front of the kids. Not to mention...people said that in front of children in the 70s.

  • yo, hoffenpot - Ann Davis says "Where did everybody go?" "Gang?" "Hey".

  • I doubt very much he would have said that infront of those little kids, people just didn't use that word as easily then as now. If he had said the 'f-word,' everyone elses jaws would have immediately dropped to the floor.

  • If you get up close and read Robert Reed's lips, it's obvious: he definitely dropped the F bomb (or GD-enough to cause some censorship). Notice how Mike Lookinland turned to look at him immediately after he said that. Of course, they had to bleep it out and leave a gap in the dialogue. It's widely known that Mr. Reed detested the show and this was his way of payback. I've always wondered what Ann B. Davis was saying between "Where did everybody go?" and "Hey". It sounds like a drawn-out "eh".

  • @hoffenpot yep bobby looks at him real fast

  • @ex0pos --No, no, NO,,,,Didn't you miss "yo" just after "morning"?

  • So, "hypothetically" if I wanted to murder the entire Brady regiment all I would have to do is stand at the bottom of the stairs and blow a whistle and they would line up single file? Sweet...

  • @brontular

Well, "hypothetically", I would have already beaten you to it. Sorry.

  • It's 6 o'clock in the FUCKIN' morning! You fuckin' slut!

  • fake and hetro (LOL) well every keep writing fake and gay , so why not hahaha

  • He also might have said something like, "frickin"" and they just decided it sounded too much like the real thing.

  • It's fake! Watch it with the sound down, He simply says 'Alice, it's 6 o clock in the morning'. A gap has been made between 'the' and 'morning' by throwing the two slightly our of sync, giving the appearance that a word has been removed! Cheeky! ;D

  • @DirectorDonP You're right! Without sound you can read his lips - "it's six o'clock in the morning" - nothing else

  • @DirectorDonP --"Director Don," THANK YOU SO MUCH for the advice, I couldn't figure out what was allegedly a 'gap' inserted. After I turned the sound down as you suggested, it's so obvious!

Again, THANKS!! It's people like you who are so helpful.

  • doubtfull. if he did swear there why wouldn't they just do another take where he says the line without the swear. I think there was just some glitch in the audio. this show was made in the sixties and seventies they didn't have the best technology then.

  • Hmm that is weird how they bleeped out his line like that - I think he did swear . I'm surprised I've never noticed that before , because I watch the Brady Bunch all the time !

  • um how does every video have anti-gay slurs on their comments... Stop hating people already...

  • @craige1977 Pussy

  • Translation of samhain1967's comments: "I will hate you, and if you say something to me about it, I will hate you in new and creative ways. I will never listen to anything anyone else has to say because I hate myself too, and I would rather look ignorant than err on the side of compassion because if I show my vulnerable side, someone might hurt my feelings and I can't let that happen. At all costs, I will try to come off as cocky and tough, even though I am only human like everyone else."

  • Aren't the Brady Kids so cute in their old school sleepy clothes.

  • Oh Alice... :)

  • Mike was going to nail Jan but decided on Greg at the last minute. "Here's the story, of a very gay Brady".

  • Mike never so much as raised his voice. I think is was an intentional pause, as if he wanted to swear and caught himself.

  • Looks like he says, "Alice, what in the fuck are you doing?" then they dubbed it over. The dubbed voice is a lot smoother than his facial expression might have made it sound.

Both Mike Lookinland and Barry Williams look uncomfortable, probably because of what he really said.

  • 0:36 to 0:39.. it sounds like "fucken" ... bobby looked up pretty quickly when he said it.

  • I wounder if mike ever beat off thinking of them boys?

  • @stalag58 Yeah like your father beats off everytime he thinks about you.

  • @stalag58 Yeah just like your father beats off every time he thinks about you.

  • Robert Reed had the bluest eyes. I HATED Florence Henderson's hair. HATED it.

  • @blkchk I agree about Florence Henderson's hair! I didn't like it, either. That style looks so STRANGE on her!

  • Looks like he said, "God d**ned morning."

  • way fake

  • Jan got pretty as she got older

  • @katie90100

she was pretty before, but she got hot.

  • He said something they bleeped. His lips moved and you can hear the end of a word before morning.

  • Bradys NEVER swear.

  • FAKE !!!

  • that was a dramatic pause.

  • Carol, break out the Wesson, Im going to shove that whistle so far up her ass!

  • wow great catch... i bet he said 'damn' or 'darn' though.

  • Oh definitely! That just muted out!!! lol Great find!

  • he says fucken morning. every kid from the show has confirmed it. he was pissed about the lighting or some shit. barry mentions it in his book too. he refused to retape the scene so they edited it. look at bobby look at him sharply before the cut.

  • I notice that when it was on tv, i was wondering too hmm

  • They should've fired him for using an expletive like that - period. When you consider that this was a family show, with children watching. I loved this show when I was a little boy, but thru the years I gradually found out what he was really like. He was no where near the character he played on the Brady Bunch. He turned out to be an idiot as far as I'm concerned. But when you consider how much he hated the show (and apparently he did) it's quite possible he was trying to get fired.

  • @kenwayne96 lol obviously you've never seen bloopers from TV shows...lol pretty much every other word is an expletive

  • Alice? Who the f**k is Alice?

  • @tryithere lol

  • He had a problem with the show because he thought it was beneath him. Well if he didn't want to do the show he should have left instead of ruining things for the other actors. In interviews they said he was hard to get along with.

  • @char675 That's because she had Wessonality.
